    I swear...

If they ever made an actual game that looked like this, I would download my sparkles in an instant.:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toTufhkz5YM"]YouTube- Principality of Zeon- One Year War part-1[/ame]

There are many games out there, but soo many fail at "originallity".

    Warfare without vehicles..? WTF..?

Yes, we've all seen the same ol' shooters doing the same damn thing, over and over again.

WWII shooters. Yeah, we get it. The Germans and the Japs are "bad" guys...

    Once again, how original.

New shooters..The Middle East, and the Russians are "bad" guys.

    Once again....How original....

How about a game where the bad guys, are just the guys on the "other" side, Like Tiefighter for the PC. The rebels thought they were fighting an evil regime, and the Imperials thought that they were fighting a war against traitors, and terrorists ?.

Give us an immersive game that allows us to pick our sides. That's why Battlefront did so well. There's always two sides in a battle, and everyone believes they're fighting on the "right" side.

The Allies had "we have nothing to fear, but fear itself", and the Germans had "God is with us!".

Give me a great Armored Core game, a great Gundam, or Star Wars game that just lets me pick a side, and run with it.

Massive battles on the ground, with fighters screaming overhead fighting for victory for both sides. Warhawk comes close, but not with the "massiveness" of battle.

And trust me, I've seen the "real" thing. Battles where "groundpounders" exact a bitter toll, as Warthogs fly above ripping troops, and the ground apart.

Where however a "badass" you think you might be...the Cobras and Apaches will(Trust me, I know) pick your ass up on thermals, and blow you away, but on the other hand, you have bootleg stingers to counter that.

Give me a game where I can jump in a AC/Mobile suit/Tiefighter with groundpounders battling away like the AT-AT's on Rhen Var...and I'll be there, hook line, and sinker.

Give me a Mobile suit, AT-AT, or a way to really knock them down on the ground, and damn dude, you've got a loyal customer for life.

I can live with "sparkles" and TWO clocks. And maybe even endless links to the PSN store.

    But for fuck's sake.....

    Gimme something "original".

Amaze me like Bioshock 1. Like Ninja Gaiden for the PS1, Like Final Fantasy 7, or Tiefighter for the PC. or Wing Commander.

Just suprise me with something wonderful, and "new".

Is that too much to ask, for my hard earned money?

Stop cranking out the same old shit. Been there, done that. Since B-52 bomber on the Intellivision.

As I've said countless times, just give us "options".

Is that really soo fucking hard? Just like Hollywood, are you forced to keep up cranking out used old ideas? Just to make money? Stop with the "re-makes".

    They're NOT better.

Suprise me, and you'll get my money. Give me the best you have, for the best I have. It's not that hard of a concept to grasp.

    Tie.

You know there's Gundam games out there right?

Also one of them is DW:Gundam which was fun, but I like the regular DW series more. :)

Have you tried Zeonic Front on the PS2 Deslock? That game is a strategic type of game where you play as the Zeon side of the war to experience their side of the story. It is pretty cool, And it's one of my personal gundam favorites. Not many Gundam games are good hence my lack of interest in the DW type of games.

I knew you would respond Kamui :p

DW is DW, not much you can change about that, Gundam or not..lol I just like the mindless hack and slash aspect to the game. Turning off your mind, killing several hundred folks, pulling off some nice combos, and laying waste to people as Lu Bu is a fun distraction for me..lol

Des if you check out my [ame="http://www.darksidealliance.com/showthread.php?t=31048"]MechWarrior[/ame] thread you'll see a pretty close Gundam type of game.

The video doesn't work anymore, but here is one of them

The only mech games that I really liked were Armored Core (since the first one), ZOE, and Front Mission. Gundam is a good anime series at least (not a fan of Seed/Destiny) but the games lacked depth (Crossfire). Until they make a better Gundam game, I'll be looking forward to Armored Core 5 and Front Mission: Evolved (and hopefully ZOE3).

Des, one thing I found interesting was that the original Warhawk concept was supposed to include mechs and flagships but they got scrapped along with the single player...they might just decide to include them in Warhawk2/Starhawk.

I have several Gundam games, and they are good.

The Frontmission games, Xenosaga, the Armored Core games.

But they're all missing the same thing. The "feel" you got on Rhen Var on the ground, watching them go over you. As the guys on the ground were trying to take them down. Or to be a pilot, and smash those pathetic ants shooting at you.

The Gundam games lack the same. They do give an onscreen mech you control like Mechwarrior...but give me a cockpit view. Make me feel like I'm actually in the damn thing!

Or being on the ground in a tank, watching Mobile suits shoot ammo as big as cars at each other! Or a pilot, screaming down on them in a fighter...

They can make an awesome flight sim like Tiefighter and Wing Commander back in the day, that blew your mind. But they can't do that now?

They can't say they don't have a solid fan base. Tiefighter is still considered on the list of top ten games ever made. Battlefront was #1 for Lucasarts.

Giant Mech games rule! And think of what they could make with the tech nowadays...

Star Trek Starfleet Academy let me command the Enterprise, Romulan ships, and even Klingon ships from the command chair. And mind you, that was on the SNES!:

                Never mind the nerd

                [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUWvDqSX2dw"]YouTube- 16-Bit Gems #3: Star Trek - Starfleet Academy (Super Nintendo)[/ame]

Now mind you, I'm talking about consoles...not the PC.

                FPS's are fine.

But be like Timespliters 2 and suprise me.

The industry is here, and the talent is out there, and there's a more than solid fanbase.

Why aren't more games like this being made?

We've been running around shooting at things since "Platoon" on the NES.

It's getting kind of stale, at least for me.

As Craig Morgan would say..Gimme a 'lil bit o' life..

                That's all.

                "Goatfucker" out.

                Des.
