For me, yes. I live in an apartment and cant jack up the sound as loud as I'd like on my surround sound. So getting a headset was almost necessary really. Another nice thing is how clear the mic is and how well you can hear other people's mics. The ps3 bluetooth speaker always left something to be desired for me. There is also no abient noise for your teamates to get annoyed with while playing open mic games. Its pretty annoying to have to hear every time someone shoots their gun on their surround sound through their mic

Since I play in our family room it might be worth me getting..especially with the language sometimes if my kids are around....

I have the Turle Beach headset. They are sweet, too. I rarely use them anymore now that I have my surround sound set up. My ears would get hot, though. It looks like the Tritons are a little bigger and therefore more comfortable on the ears. Also, with the Turtle Beach, you have a lot of wires to connect. Some to the PS3 and some to the back of the TV.
Hogezz...I think they are erronously popping up when people use the smiley faces, etc.ND
