Well, I did it. I stayed up all night and all day and did as well as I needed on the exam to make certain I get the grade I want. I will now go to sleep, wake up early, study, then take another exam. yay.
Very wise advice here. I'm glad you listened to it.
I was watching some special about Ranger training and apparently some people will rub tobasco sauce in their eyes to stay awake.
Yeppers, some of the guys would do that, and worse. But taking some exams isn't exactly the same as being in a combat situation where you cannot allow yourself sleep. We would be up for several days on end, and I swear to you, your mind "fuzzes" out on you and you become a zombie. You can't really focus and concentrate properly. Your body needs proper sleep for a reason.
Back in the day we didn't have so called "Energy drinks". I would take so many "No-doze" caffiene pills that I'd actually get the "shakes". Not cool, trust me. Can't aim and fire well when you're literally shaking from caffiene overdose.
So for me, I went another route. I had a small pocket knife, and when I felt myself trying to nod off, I'd take my small knife and press it really, really hard into my right leg so the pain would make me sharpen back up for a bit. (A tactic I also used when I was driving a big truck over the road with days without proper sleep. It does hurt, but it works.)
What you're doing isn't "life or death" dude. You're just taking some tests; and you NEED a sharp mind for that. Study when you can, and sleep when you must. But the best advice I could give you is to believe in yourself, and try the very best you can. You're not stupid. The rest will just fall into place.
No need to burn your eyes to get the adreniline rush to stay awake for Gawd's sake. Just trust in yourself. You'll be fine. ;)
Just read for yourself:

I.E., there is no way in Hell you can try and train yourself ahead of time for lack of sleep.
Just be strong and believe in yourself, and what you've learned.
