    Suggest a Game

So i'm trying to get some games for the misses. What games do some people suggest?

She likes Puzzle games and Trading games but they need to be more involve then say Tradewinds or Farmville type stuff you find on Facebook.

So far I've downloaded Eve ONline I think if she got into it she may like it. So i hope she can play the free trail.

if you are looking for pc games keep an eye on steam they have a lot of great deals this time of year
"Thrawn: "Do you know the difference between an error and a mistake, Ensign?"
    Colclazure: "No, sir."
Thrawn: "Anyone can make an error, Ensign. But that error doesn't become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." [points at Pietersen, Rukh kills him] "Dispose of it. The error, Ensign, has now been corrected. You may begin training a replacement."

Little Big Planet because there's plenty of puzzles in there and she can make her own puzzle level if she wants.

If she liked Plants vs Zombies, Pixeljunk Monsters is KILLER, also is more in depth strategically.

As far as puzzle, there are a lot of other great PSN games that have you covered.

Both Trine and Trine 2 are really good action/platformer puzzlers that have high production values and plenty of content that are a lot of fun.

Limbo is one I just finished, and it's really cool as well. Very distinctive look and feel, with a dark vibe and some good mysterious undertones.

Pixeljunk Eden is another one that is unique... very relaxing and challenging, and engrossing.

Braid is very good as well, but it is VERY difficult.

As far as more traditional puzzlers, it's really REALLY hard to beat Critter Crunch. Awesome handdrawn art style with a lot of challenge and long forgiving learning curve. One of the more perfectly balanced games out there as far as difficulty goes, because the bonus objectives become very difficult very quickly.

Cuboid is another good one, it's chief strength is spatial movement and is a really simple concept that is immediately accessible but some of the puzzles are truly tough.

Echochrome is awesome, with a TON of puzzles, and it is very similar to playing an MC Escher drawing that can rotate in 3d space. For me, this is a very difficult game because my brain isn't wired this way. There are some crazy puzzles here.

Lumines Supernova is a solid game in the vein of Tetris or Columns.

Flower is one you should get, period. it has a deceptively simple and forgiving control scheme, but at the same time you can't stop playing it. It's one of those games that is a complete joy to play. It's what you hope the afterlife is like.

Thanks so far everyone. My girl can't really deal with the controller so I'm trying to introduce her to some PC games. She likes building games like farmville but needs a lot more to do that isn't mindless.

                      Some thoughts:

Have you considered Sim City 4? I mean if she's seeking a virtual management position and the farm has gotten dull, why not try her luck at city hall? 4 is actually pretty neat regarding features:

-The city changes with time, as do architectural styles.
-You can zoom in enough to watch people and cars, and follow them as long as you like.
-The world is made up of dozens of adjoining tiles. Each tile of which can house one massive or a handful of smaller cities. You can then connect these tiles with roads to create an entire "state" worth of towns, cities and metropoli'. Have a train system that cuts through a large mountain and connects two towns that you control directly.
-There's some manual control stuff for fun. You can drive a car around, or a tank (with working cannon) if you prefer. The whole game looks awesome.

Adventure Games - Have you considered adventure games like Back to the Future, Monkey Island or Sam & Max? They're less skill and arcade focused. Infact most of them are dialogue and item based.

I second Echochrome. It definitely requires you change how you think about perspective. Since every perspective changes how the level behaves pathwise. I can't imagine how hard it would be to explain to someone how to solve a puzzle without the use of a visual aide or a drawing.

Also, the game supports user created content. So assuming you finish the 60 or so levels it comes with, there's always the cloud. =)
