    Were I've been.

I sent Apat a message a few weeks ago, explaining what was happening. This is the message I sent him.

I'm not the type of person that usually talks about my personal matters or my life. I keep my shit locked up tighter then area 51. I'm going through a rough/dark time right now. I'm trying to kick an addiction that has been plaguing me for awhile now, my girl left me and I got layed off from my job right before christmas. I'm not really in the right frame of mind, I don't know what I'm doing right or wrong. Be it life or this clan, I don't usually now what I'm doing or were I'm going. I feel like a NIN song to say the least. I honestly don't know why I'm telling you, something about be honest and forthcoming or shit like that, but these next few week are going to be brutal for me, so if I do something or say something that is out of context or character, know that I'm sorry.

I don't know were to go from here, I don't know if you guys have an MIA system or drop me from the roster, I don't see myself being on a lot for awhile till I get my life sorted out.

    Darth,

    First, thank you for sharing.

You have been a friend to DSA for quit some time. You are part of the clan as a Cadet. I was aware you reached out to your mentor, APAT, to let him know what was going on. While he did not go into detail, he did share with me you had some personal real life issues you had to deal with that would likely keep you from being active with us. With this clan, REAL LIFE always comes first. So do not worry about attendance, etc for practices or events. We will be here when you are ready! Feel free to join us anytime for practice or just on casual nights. You always have been and will be welcome.

More importantly, as a part of DSA, you will find plenty of support for WHATEVER you are facing. I promise you there are guys here that have faced demons and got through it. They certainly can relate and if you want can offer help.

Some faced these issues while in this clan and found support here by just being able to jump online and coordinate a friendly night of gaming with friends as an escape from the stress of everyday life. Others have found advice through conversations on the forum threads, PMs, to even exchanging phone numbers. My point is you are not alone and there are guys here that can 100% relate to you.

We are a Brotherhood and you ARE part of it. Sure we gather because of a common interest in gaming, but our REAL interest lie in each other. This is why we are different (and better) than most gaming clans. Just know, we are here for you.

...So live, that when thy summons comes to join
    The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.

It's a good step coming back and posting here. In times like the one you're facing it's very important to be able to look outside of one's self for value judgement regarding actions and personality. Substance abuse hollows out one's personality by altering their emotional rhythms. The journey back to sobriety involves alot of reconditioning.

Never weigh yourself by any one act, accomplishment or crime. As a person you are the aggregate of the joy and suffering you project out and what is projected upon you. Therefore the best place to put yourself is around people who project upon and instill within you a desire to work toward the positive elements in life. By doing this you will recognize and learn to embody a better, stronger, wiser version of yourself.

I've kicked a few drug addictions in my time. PM me if you need any advice or support.

I've also kicked a major boozing habit a couple years ago, my life still isn't 100%, but it's getting better. You're not alone.

Though we don't know eachother, feel free to PM me as well if you'd like to talk ever.

I've been on just about all but crack and heroin. That stuff just gets tiring after some time. Combining the loss of a job and the end of a relationship must be a tough time to kick any habits. Just think, one habit at a time. Don't face off against it all at once.

You know I heart you Darthy. Miss ya man. You'll get your stuff in order eventually. Until then feel free to lean on DSA for advise or just an escape for a few hours. Time spent with the clan helped me get over a tough breakup by just getting my mind off things for a while. Its good to reflect and try and come up with some sort of plan for the future but don't let it consume you. It'll just stress you the hell out.

My best advise is to set clear, attainable and measurable goals for yourself and attach a time in which you want to accomplish them. Write them down. This will give you a direction to follow.

              PM me anytime.
