LucasArts Drops Gamers into the Criminal Underworld with New Mature Themed Videogame Franchise, Star Wars 1313™

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif - May 31, 2012 - LucasArts, a Lucasfilm Ltd. company, announced today a new internally developed videogame franchise, Star Wars 1313™. The game will make its formal debut at the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles June 5-7. As players take control of a lethal bounty hunter in a never-before-seen dark and mature world, Star Wars 1313 introduces an integrated development approach by bringing together great artists across the Lucasfilm organization, including LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. and Skywalker Sound. A third person cinematic action adventure game, Star Wars 1313 will bring to life the Coruscant underworld, the most dangerous place in the Star Wars™ galaxy.

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

"We're excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing," said Paul Meegan, President, LucasArts. "Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we've always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself."

More details about Star Wars 1313 will surface in the coming months. Visit www.StarWars1313.com for the latest updates.

Fuuuuuuck that shit. No multiplayer, no interest.

I think LucasArts deserves the Worst Company in America award way more than EA does. They lie to our faces and say that they're listening. They act like they're making the games we want when they're just disappointing us every year. They're a fucking disgrace. I don't care if the game is mature. The single player only games are getting fucking old.

People need to stop praising them and making them think that it's okay to make stupid games like this.

I think everyone should clog GTTVs Twitter feed with questions about Battlefront 3 when they do their Q&A with the fans. That would be hilarious.

So my boycott of LucasArts will continue.......I have no desire to give my money to a company that so clearly does not care what their fans want. They know that the majority of their adult fans want Battlefront 3 but almost defiantly they keep giving us everything except that. We say please take our money and they say we will but not for the game you really want.

I'm willing to consider it. If the team stays toward a darker meatier experience in regards to being a bounty hunter. I don't know what the odds of THAT are.

I'm gonna go off topic for a second based on the video having that piece of shit Metal Gear Rising.

In regards to Metal Gear... it's been dead to me.

MG was great. It set the stage for a series involving military ops with high tech weapons and different ways to achieve goals. Weapons were very powerful and required thought and cunning in order to achieve objectives. It established high tech communications and old fashioned warrior spirit, and it did it all on the NES.

MGS continued this trend and was amazing in both story and action and took creativity to new heights, and found a great balance between historic realism and comic book stretching of reality.

MGS 2 was a grievous misstep. Bosses became goofy. Raiden was a seriously weak protagonist. The story was idiotic, and the environment made poor use of the weapons. MGS2 is the Episode 1 of Action games, and Raiden is the Jar Jar Binks.

MGS 3 was the finest hour. Epic bosses, once again story interwoven tightly with actual history, lots of throwbacks to reality/CIA/Military culture and the environments were powerfully used as characters. (The End's jungle? The field you fight The Joy in??? Just two examples of top tier creativity and execution of concept).

MGS4 Did a good job at trying to fuse the disparity between the MGS's. The low points were Raiden's appearances and other odd bits, but the flourishes to the japanese craziness that got embellished in MGS2 were played down, and as a result, there are absolutely KILLER parts of MGS4... playing the entire Shadow Moses complex from MGS1, the combat, the highly cloak and dagger European bit. The cutscenes were odd but it FIT, unlike what had been done in MGS2. Overall it was very successful and interesting and a top tier game, just not as good as MGS3. Raiden does work as a tragic character... in small doses.

              Metal Gear Rising.
What can I say about this piece of shit that hasn't already been said about Judas Iscariot? The listing price on this game should be 30 pieces of silver. It should go hang itself in shame and stay there until the rope breaks and it guts spew out on the ground and dogs eat them. It's so bad I had to go to the bible to find ways to express how bad it is.

Ya know, I've come to a conclusion. That George is mad at all the fans that hated the his "beloved" prequels, and that is the reason he won't make SWBF3.

That it's his own personal form of "payback".

LA will indeed keep making Star Wars games; just not the ones we want.

For me; that's the only answer that makes any form of sense about this issue.

Everyone (that likes Star Wars, and is a gamer) has been hollering for SWBF3 for years now, and if you check LA's own damn forums, they still are to this exact day. LA's game developers must be really really good in ignoring that 800lb. gorilla in the room for a very good reason that we just don't know about.

                    God God; what's next....

                    Star Wars Teras Kasi 2...???!!!

                    Heh.

I'm with Fromunda on this one. I've accepted the fact that LA isn't going to make a SWBF3. And after all these years; I just don't care about it anymore.
SWBF2 was the last game that LA made that I own. And I guess due to them, it's going to stay that way.

Oh well, life goes on. :)

LA keeps making Star Wars games that I don't want, and I get to spend my money on better games that I do want. :D

P.S. I will say this though: Ya know, with all these truly awesome games we have out now.... MW3, BF3, Skyrim...Hell, even my own personal beloved Fallout games, and RDR; and so on.... I do find it hard to wrap my brain around that when LA's game dev's were sitting around in a group think tank saying "We need a new Star Wars game to make us some money."

                    And someone said "OooooOOOO...I know..I know !!!!"

"How about a new Star Wars "dancing" game !!!".

And that actually got greenlit and produced over SWBF3.

You cannot tell me that something is not amiss at Lucas Arts.

What really makes me sad and angry about all of this, is that LA is literally sitting on a damned gold mine in their franchises. But they still keep cranking out shit that a lot of fans like myself don't give a damn about, and certainly NOT our cash for such continued drivel and offal.

I am a Star Wars snob. I readilly know and acknowledge that fact about myself. I am a Star Wars original trilogy purist.

                            Han did NOT shoot first.

Boba Fett and the EP4 Stormtroopers were NOT clones., even if George wants to go back and change Boba's voice in the "re-made" ESB.

Anakin was an old guy "ghost" in ROTJ, NOT Hayden.

And what Lucas did to David Prowse IS an outright bullshit dick move. Mr. Prowse NEVER once openly dissed Lucas, and he certainly deserves more better treatment than to be banned from any Star Wars functions or Cons.

You tell me fellow DSA, what would YOU rather watch.....

More bullshit TFU, crappy "cartoon" clone wars crap;.....Or this..?....:

I certanly know which one I would much rather watch. And naarrated by "Optimus Prime's" Peter Cullen. :D

And yes, this IS Deslock mode. ;)
