    BF2 Report:

    Erm....Where to begin...?

    BLLLEEEEECHHH!!!!!!!

    It's amazingly craptastic!

The games can literally be over in minutes! (meaning you can lose in minutes!)

The AI is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast!, not smart, just too fast.

In space combat, even though you've got unlimited missiles, you fire a few, and then...dramatic pause....."Erm, why aren't I shooting missles?"....then you DIE!!!

There is no way you can use any kind of strategy, it's just a shoot and frag fest. If that's what I wanted, I would've bought Quake instead.

Boba Fetts' wrist rockets? Erm, well, they might fire when you want them to, then again, maybe not. But the flame thrower is impressive, not effective, but still impressive. (Nothing like being chased down by a "one hit=one kill gamorrian, frantically pushing the rocket button, and hearing "clickclickclickclickclick" as nothing's being fired....)

At least as I noticed, as the Empire in space combat, you CAN be killed with one shot. Woo Hoo, what fun that is. After the 3rd mission in "Rise of the Empire, I became soooo fustrated, that I literally threw my controller on the floor, then reset. (When you have to enter General Grievous' command ship, if you are killed, you have to "restart" at your own hanger and start all over again, because you cannot capture the CP on the command ship. Niiiice guys, really niiiice )

Nope, no going "prone" anymore...Niiiice move again LA! (Snipers are just gonna loooove that! :x

No flying vehicles on ground maps. period. AAARGH!!! Granted, on some maps on BF1, air vehicles were cheesy (i.e.Naboo), but to be denied them alltogether?

On Jabbas' palace, I had 83 kills, and yet still lost, due to the enormus increase of speed, of the enemies taking cp's literally right after I captured them. You protect the CP, you lose; because the AI will capture all the other CP's, if you run off to capture CP's, then they take them back, right after you took them! then you lose again. :x

To reload, you have to hit the down button on the d-pad, therefore taking your finger off the movement joystick (L3), same with giving commands to the A.I.

Now, in all truth, it might be different online, with several others playing on your side. But I must say in single player offline; I'm severly dissapointed.
This is not the "fun" game I was soooo looking forward to. It's just tooooo faasst. You cannot use any strategy, or tactics. It's just a simple killfest.

But, it was fun playing the Emperor, and hearing him cackle, as I fried 5 rebel scum with his force lightning.

I sincerly hope LA fixes some things with a patch. Soon. :( I'm just soooo disappointed.

    In service to the DSA,

    Deslock.

Next Time try taking a Rebel/Clone Transport Ship , it act's as an Command Post . Land into there ship n if u die u can spawn at the transport Ship . It's reallly handy if ur playing online . get into one n land it at there Cap Ship n then yall can spawn there . :)

I understand where Deslock is coming from. It does seem like the game does go too fast, but I think once we bump reinforcement count up, it'll be longer. Remember you can now bump Reinforcement count up to 750 in offline IA.

The manual roll in space is also a bit frustrating if you want to slow down, and start rolling.

Strategies will come into play once we learn all the maps, know powers of units, ect. It just seems confusing right now because we have basically no idea of where we are on maps. Once we learn every nook and crannie like in BF1, tactics will get better.

Its a new game. It has its ups and its downs. Its faster and much different than the game we have been playing for over a year. Give it time...find the chinks in the armor...use your aggression toward the enemy. The game seems smoother than the original (most times) and the AI hits like a train. I found myself overwhelmed in Kashyyk (spelling?). I then learned to hop in a vehicle and take the battle TO the enemy rather than wait for them. I successfully destroyed 9 vehicles in the first three minutes and came back to kill those that survived and were on the assault. Then I became Yoda and the rest is pieces and parts... any questions?? That green guy is MEAN!!! small...but MEAN.... "Never give up, never surrender",...motto of SWBF2...

personally i think its just as fast as BF1. I beat rise of the empire in 4 1/2 hours. I loved it. I play instant action and love it. I really don't like the no prone, i hate the unit picks of recons, and i understand the no taking the base CP as to keep the flow of their ships going as to not be too easy.

              Adjustments I've been working on.

I just did a quick run through offline on the game.

For space battles, set the Max points to 300. ANything more, it gets boring. I tried it with 1000 Points and I got tired around 275. 300 allows all ship attacks and some dogfighting.

NOTE: I have yet to see if you can increase the point Max online. I'll try this tomorrow.

For CTF, I find that 5 seems to be a bit too much. Especially on Endor and Jabba's Palace where people die all over the place.

For regular mode, the AI I feel should still be 500. The Standard 200 does not make for some long battles.

Yeap, i gotta agree with ya there Deslock. There are alot of dodgy things in the new Battlefront.
The fact that they leave the Bespin maps out in favour of Endor, and Naboo by night? Oh come on, no Rhen Var? I guess i loved those old maps.

Every level seems dark and grainy. Its too hard to see what the feck is goin on. Esp Jabba's Palace. They shouldve included night vision goggles as standard in every troopers kit.

The space battles, umm yeah. Apart from flying around looking cool, doing those evasive manouver actions, dogfighting while screaming hoorahh!! and thinking your the best Top Gun since Tom Cruise, it kinda sucks.

Ive played the single-player and yes, its very annoying to take cp after cp to find that the damn AI have taken it back behind you. Its a constant cp-taking battle, i found i had to stand at the one i just took, blast the enemy when they came, and live in hope that my dumb AI counterparts would have the wit to try to take the other remaining ones.

But how i love those Hero V Villian battles. Gotta love that force shit. Nothing better than force pulling your unsuspecting enemy right up to you, only to say hello with those sabers of light.

Overall im a bit disappointed with the game. I still love it. Why? Cos its Star Wars, and its still the best Star Wars game out there. If only they'd not rushed it as much, actually sat down round the table and talked about the plans for it, instead of jacking off and playing online poker and hoping someone else in the LA team would figure it all out.
Sigh, programmers. Give me the money to write games, ill do a hell of a better job.

Fetch me another plaything, this one seems to have broken.

                  Jumpy

New game, new feel. I like it. I like how they balanced things out so that certain undesirable tactics are more difficult or toned down. Like blasters on ground vehicles are not so deadly when they strike in proximity to infantry. Ground vehicles have to score a direct hit on infantry to get a one-shot kill. This makes it more difficult to whore CPs.

I don't like how the game reacts to severe lag. Sometimes it will jump you around in weird unexpected directions. In BF1 this occurred also, but it was somewhat predictable...like in BF1 if you are turning at the moment bad lag starts the game assumes that you are turning the whole time during the lag even if you stopped turning. This is predictable. But in BF2 I have been completely motionless, not touching the movement controls, and suddenly during a lag I get jerked into another direction or moved to another spot on the map. These are problems that can be fixed with a patch, and so I look forward to that.

We have a whole new world of tactics to explore. I hope that everyone takes time to both experiment and share what they have learned. It will be a while before we learn it all.

I noticed tonite (nevermind the extreme lag), that using the CIS SBD, that the rockets took forever to re-load, and was responsible for me getting killed several times.

The vehicles now are like tigers with no teeth and claws. Impressive to look at, but not much else.

The unexplained self kills gets old. You just die instantly. without a chance to react. Just bang=you're dead.

I truly want to like this game. But the flaws are getting to me.

                    Tie.

I hear what your saying Deslock. I really want to like this new game but so far I still like the first battlefront better. Maybe I just got to get used to this game cause it does have a whole new feel to it. I do like some of the maps I have played but miss Bespin Cloud City. Maybe I just need to play more then I have and just get used to the game.

Oh but one thing I will never get used to is the damn capture the flag. That annoncer gets fucking annoying. Rebals have the Flag! The Flag has been dropped!! The Empire has the Flag!!
I just want to kick my T.V. when the annocer won't shut the hell up!!

Yeah that announcer is freaking annoying I even put my T.V on mute during capture the flag cause I can't hear anyone talking when the announcer talks. I have no experience with dying more often, pistols are more effective in this game as well as rockets taking out vehicles. I think I might have to change the speed at the controls to be higher so it gives me a better reaction time. I think this game is better but everyone is entitled to their opinion and even I am still getting more used to the game. I just don't like that the servers online crash and all conquest mode servers have 0 AI, but as time passes improvements will be probably made.

                            Lag jumpiness

I think that I may have misinterpreted force-push/pulls as lag problems. After playing more I realize that the "unexpected movements" that keep occurring are actually enemies attacking me with Jedi Powers. Duh.. Without seeing the enemy doing this, getting force-moved in an particular direction at least reveals the axis to the enemy doing the pushing/pulling. So I can usually guess which way to turn to blow the Jedi to smithereens.

heres the most annoying thing i've found. I was at a friends playin 2 p rise of the empire on yavin, and when the leaders spanwed one was under the floor causing us to lose 5 times. Then i got mad, and glitched in there to find him. ITs the same glitch as bf1. Oh and lady D, i had the same darkness problem. I raised brightness to full on my tv and saw/killed all of them.
