Considering they plan to continue the adventures of Luke and crew, and how old they are, I would have to go with the Yuuzhan Vong saga or Legacy of the Force.

Unless of course they recast, then I want the Thrawn saga or the Jedi Academy trilogy. However, if Darth's link is accurate, then it will be none of our suggestions.

......and I have to agree with Zab, most pre-Disney Marvel movies were utter crap.

They had better make a great Episode VII or else all Star Wars fans will revolt and it won't matter that they own it or make no movies...no one will watch.

So will Star Wars movies start having singing moments of glee or anger?

          *Sighs*.....

I don't know really what to say, so I'm just going to wing it and try to speak honestly. No "rant"....No "Deslock mode". ;)

When I was young, oh so many years ago, my life was a mess. I had a mother that was stressed out and at times working three jobs, and a father that was a "mean drunk". A full blown hateful ass alcoholic that literally showed NO mercy to anyone once he was on the "sauce". When he was sober, he was a good person that tried in his own way to show me what it was to "be a man".

But I do believe that everything that he went thru during the Korean war gave him what we now call "post traumatic stress syndrome", and he just couldn't find his way out of it, except through the bottom of a bottle. It just became his coping mechanism to deal with what all he had been though, done, and seen.

I sure as shit didn't understand it at the time being just a stupid naive kid, but now after all my own military experiences; I do NOT agree with it, but I certainly understand it better now as an adult. Being a combat soldier changes you.
And certainly NOT in good ways.

The one escape I had as a child for all this bullshit in my life then was "Star Wars".
It became my own personal island and "safehouse" in a sea of shit that surrounded me on all sides. It was a cinematic "paradise", and why I have such a concern for it.

At least I used to. Before those horrible "prequels".

It was the 70's. And we had just come out of the darkness that was Vietnam.

The world, especially America needed something.....anything.. "FUN".

Star Wars was "fun". It was "magic", space battles, mythology, cool ass bad guys AND good guys. In Star Wars, there was NOTHING not to love.

All the Sci-Fi up to that time was really dark shit like 2001- a space odessey, or corny shit where you could literally see the space ships hanging on strings flying around. Star Wars at that time changed everything. And why it was such a big hit if you've ever watched "That 70's show", if you were born after that time.

To us, "Star Wars" WAS the ultimate cool thing ever. And it made Lucas a GOD amongst men.

But for us "old ones" now, we've been forced to sit back over time, and be forced to watch all the magic explained to us in finite detail. To have that "magic" forcibly removed thru endless unwanted "clarifications" that nobody even wanted in the first place. Hence all the fanboy "hate" about it now.

We cannot help but think that everything we loved so much about our childhood has been sold to the highest bidder, and exploited for gain.

Am I mad about Disney buying Star Wars....?

          No.

Am I saddened by it..? yes, in a way. But that past is beyond me now.

All I can really say about it is this....:

Disney, just give us SWBF3, make it good, and I can forgive the prequels.

Take care, and God bless you all.

P.S. For you purists like me, Han didnt't fire "first". Greedo never fired at all. Han shot...Greedo died. Like it should be. As it once was, and will hopefully be again.

Tainted. That's the only way I see this ending. Disney will ruin star wars. That's my opinion. But maybe this is the push swbf3 will need.

What really bothered me the most was with Lucas adding Vader's gay ass "NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!! when he throws Ol' Palpy down the shaft. There are only two really powerful scenes in the OT. When Vader reveals himself to Luke, and him saving his son from a very painful death.

Every Chef knows that if everyone is telling you your dish is great, if you keep adding salt to it, you're just going to ruin it for everyone, and they're not going to like it anymore. Lucas just had to keep adding more and more salt.

But that's only to be expected if you surround yourself with employees that are too scared to tell you "No dude, just leave it alone". The person that kept him "grounded" for the OT was his ex-wife. She had the strength to tell him if she thought something was stupid, or unneeded, and would fight with him about stuff.

I've seen things where employees would go to pre-production meetings and storyboards, and that they were literally terrified that he wouldn't like their ideas or constructive criticism and be fired.

Ultimately though Reaver it's all on Lucasfarts. They are the idiots that have F'ed off the fans for years since SWBF2. The biggest trollarts were those two shitty SWBF PSP games. It's like "You guys want SWBF3? Well here is a PSP game that nobody gives a shit about!"

We pushed out the best of SWBF2 in this clan, but in reality the game was glitched and bugged to hell. I'm amazed how we handled the game! Why was it poorly programmed?

Probably the corporate heads pushing Pandemic to get the product done to line up with the release of Episode III on DVD. Corporate bullshit and there is always the chance of that happening again. Afterall LA ruined Free Radical.

Some of these game companies don't even care about fan input, and that is a crying shame. Can't improve if you don't take some constructive criticism.

So I did some digging on the Disney website and found where they hire staff for video games (link) I did not find anything that screams they are in development of a new Star Wars game but I think I know what game developer might make it Avalanche Software or Disney my resurrect [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_Games"]Propaganda Games[/ame].

I hope for Propaganda Games if they can get the development team back that made Turok. I loved that game on the N64 and thought it was a strong FPS for its time.

I finished reading several articles speculating about the plot of Episode VII. I have to tell you that I would be extremely surprised if the film featured a new plot line.

Their is no original thought in Hollywood. If someone already wrote it (did their job for them), then the producers will just go with that story. Why would they want to work hard, spend money, show original thought when they can just crap out something that has already been done.

I read one article posted on this thread and it talked about how they were going to somehow nurse the Star Wars movies back to health. If they want to do that I would be in favor of a release of the original trilogy without the new crap put into it.
