    For my wife......

And every other female you know that likes this genre, wife, girlfriend, sister, friend...Whatever.

The other night Daz and myself were in BF3, and some chipmunk perked up and asked why she wasn't in the kitchen making me a sandwich. Instead of getting mad or hurt, she proceeded to laugh at him and tore his ass off so bad the other guys in the server were laughing at HIM.

For my beloved wife, that played with Star Wars figures with her dolls, that loves the Aliens movies and the Terminator; and Game of Thrones. The woman that convinced me that it was not only okay---but really F'n cool to buy a Stormtrooper suit. Who went out and bought me a new PS2 phat the same night my old one died. The woman that bought me my Tie Fighter armor, Lego's, and many, many vidya games. And who's out right now watching the new Wolverine movie.

And who is buying me toys so I can take pictures of them and helping me make my DSA Toy Theater project right now.

I love you so damn much. And remember, if anyone, and I mean anyone tries to give you any shit about what you like and love....

And any other female reading this:

You have NOTHING to prove. :

    Peace.

Aww, thank you Des. I love you too. I have always been a geek girl, before I really knew what that meant. I have always loved to read, and loved being taken away by a good story. I love getting lost in sci fi and fantasy. Thanks to my Dad, I also have a healthy love of the horror genre, and love a good scary movie.

    RESIDENT EVIL!!! Leon...Mmm...:D

Oh and about the new Wolverine movie--loved it! Of course, I would watch Hugh Jackman read the phone book and be happy.

There seems to be some bullshit going around on the net that "true" geek girls don't really exist, and they're all just posers, and need to be "quizzed" on their geek cred to be considered true "geeks".

Hence why that girl made that vidya that I posted.

I met my beloved wife in the ages ago Yahoo Star Wars chat room.

She damn sure knows who "Wesker" is, and will rightfully hand you your ass on several vidya games. So much so that I won't play against her, as she'll kick my ass. Badly. She loves COD, Skyrim, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, and especially Resident Evil, and knows more about the characters than I do. And has her own Resident Evil action figures, And bought her own "life size" Pikachu, and owned the dude at the Flea Market that her's was better, when he dared to question her about it.

Dude, Walking Dead game...she will Pwn you. HARD. And make you cry for your Momma....

If you have a chick that bitches at you to get online and to improve your skills, and brings you beer...?

Just thank God for his gift to you.

Let's here it for the Geek girls out there !! :D

Even though my wife is not a hard core gamer like me she is a true geeky girl. We meet at an Anime convention, we watch all the great geek tv shows together. Hell she get worried when I'm not on playing game with my DSA friends. Even this weekend at MetroCon we bought two new decks of Magic cards.

A true geek girl is someone you will never want to live with out and the kid that made that comment will most likely never get to have the enjoyment that we get.
"Thrawn: "Do you know the difference between an error and a mistake, Ensign?"
        Colclazure: "No, sir."
Thrawn: "Anyone can make an error, Ensign. But that error doesn't become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." [points at Pietersen, Rukh kills him] "Dispose of it. The error, Ensign, has now been corrected. You may begin training a replacement."

Real geek girls are the greatest and it's so foolish when guys dismiss the fact that they even exist. I have to be honest though and say that there are some girls out there who give the real nerdy girls a bad name and help create the common misconception that they're all posers. Girls like this come to mind. The real ones out there though truly deserve all the respect in the world.

I met my girl on the internet as well. She doesn't play shooters but she is definitely a hardcore gamer.
This girl can pick up a Pokemon game and have the Elite 4 beaten in 3 days. Under leveled. Pissed me right the fuck off because I was struggling on them while over leveled.
RPGs are definitely her thing. I don't know what her secret is but she just has this ability to destroy RPGs.
She even made her own video game. Albeit, it's a visual Hey Arnold! novel but it's all of her artwork and her own story and it is very impressive.

It's not just games but books, movies, anime, TV shows. She got me into what is now my favorite show, Doctor Who, by talking my ear off about it.
At first I was like...Eleventh Doctor? What? Who got sent back in time? I didn't get it...but now IT'S. LIKE. CRACK.

Her deviantArt is filled with anime and video game art and her YouTube channel follows suit music-wise. She has a ridiculous amount of talent and sometimes I'm just in awe of how well she can do all of these things.

I am definitely blessed to be able to play my games and have her be okay with it. She knows how irritated she would be if I told her to stop playing her games so it all works out. She loves her JRPGs so naturally she is a PlayStation fan and you know what...I like it that way. I've got the best of both worlds. (Don't worry, Mui. We have multiple 3DS's. We're still rockin' that Nintendo too.)

I'm damn thankful that I met her and really. You all should be too. Because I think she made me a little bit less of a dick.

          I'm still a dick.

...but a little bit less is good for all parties involved. :)

            w00t !!!!

I have to totally agree with both you guys. Dudes that rag and diss on Geek chicks have absolutely NO idea what they're missing out on. A buddy of mine met his girl on World of Warcraft, and she moved down here from Wisconsin to be with him. And besides my own wife, she has to be one of the prettiest and utterly sweetest girls I know. And she takes damn good care of him.

My wife rocks Hello Kitty and Zombies. It was sooo cool to see her literally beam in the picture she had taken with the actors that played the Nurse and Sweater Zombies from the original "Dawn of the dead", and they adored her, for her enthusiasm and love of their work. They signed her DVD for her, that she brought just for them to autograph. IRL they are husband and wife, and were an absolute joy to meet and hang out with and get to know. They were both really cool and fun, and I swear in their picture all together, their smiles were as big as my wife's. :D I swear my wife was *sparkling* with happiness, because she loves Zomb's so much.

You can see them both together at 7:22 & 7:43 in this vid. Such an awesome couple:

And I have to credit her for helping Jeremy Bulloch naming me the "official" silliest long haired Stormtrooper, because it was her and my antics with him that was making him laugh so much throughout the whole day.

Cotto, it so beyond cool that you met your lady at a Con. Excellent work my man. ;) Going to Cons together is righteous, isn't it..? :D It's sooo much better when you can share the love together !

And Blunt, you've posted your lady's work, and she has mad skillz, she really does.

And I feel your pain..as a male gamer, it does smart a bit when your woman can kick ass on a game better than you, but it also makes it even better when you can both play together, like Daz and myself did with Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and kick ass playing together.

So for all you single dudes; when you see that cute chick reading a Star Wars book, or wearing a Justice League T-shirt, just man up and go and talk to her.
Like Cotto did. It might just be the best thing you ever did.

Geek Girls for the win ! :D

If you're into this shit, and you find a chick like this. Marry her. Heh:

I have to agree so much with Bob on this one....If more girls want to join our genre, just how in the Hell can that be a bad thing..???

Jesus, some of these neckbeards really need to get over themselves.

I guess what bothers me about this is with all the crap girls have to go through, Now they have to get "marginalized" by fellow geeks and gamers, to have to "prove" that they really love what they love.

It's all bullshit. It really is, And they don't deserve it.

                    "Fake geek girl tests"....really..???!!!

Who makes up this crap..? Lonely neckbeards in their parents' basements ?.

When I was in the Army, our group was as "badass" as it gets.
But we had guys that loved Star Wars, and played many sci-fi games on their PC's. (Consoles didn't exist then).

Our Captain had a model of the Enterprise on his desk, and we all called him "Capt. Kirk" because of it, but out of love, not disdain. This was NOT a man you wanted to mess with, or be on the bad side of.

When I joined the 501st. Stormtrooper legion there wasn't a "test" to prove your worth. All you had to have was a movie grade costume or better. Hell, one of the guys in our group was a Marine commando with a mohawk named "Bulldog", and several others were police and law enforcement. Their "test" was to prove they loved the Empire.

They, and we; have nothing to prove. To anyone.

Girls, I welcome you. Kick ass, rock your shit, and join the DSA. :D

God knows we need more estrogen in this testosterone and sausage fest we have now. We have many awesome chicks in the 501st. now.
We adore you, and we need you.

Just forget the haters. They are sad, and need to be forgotten.

                    I welcome you girls ! :D
