    Tough times ahead

It seems life likes to mess with me every few years. So I want to post to my friends here at DSA.

in the past few years I'be been keeping so much inside that I don't really have much of an outlet. Recently I took a vacation and so I had some time out away from my day to day.

Recently my crazy landlady decided it was time we moved out and has given me and my family till January 1st to move out. This has piled on more crap for me to do on top of the 40+ hours I work. my wife and I homeschool our son and she works 3 days week and has many other things she does.

This just makes things harder than they already are. I've been fighting to get promoted at work but they keep putting other in my the position I want and I keep training them so they can move on.

I'm pretty pissed off about it and started looking for work in Arizona since the cost of living there is so much less than DC area. Where with my income I"m still Poor as fuck and can't get into a decently priced apartment.

At work I know that I'm a valued member and so I try not to take things personal when it comes to the position I seek. They are just trying to clean up some messes they had created by promoting the wrong people.

But because I am not moving forward and being forced out of my apartment. I'm going to have to spend all my holidays and any money I had trying to move and get rid of most of my things.

This is going to be tough. Thanks for Reading

    My DSA Involvement, will continue.

We will continue to move BF4 Platoon forward, The officers of this platoon so far have been doing a great job. I'll try to keep playing as much as I can....I got to get rid of that "light is behind me" twitch. lol

Hang in there brother. I hope things go well for you and find something that works. A close friend of mine moved to AZ and she had nothing but good things to say about work and living.

My wife went to college at ASU so we spent 4 years living and studying there. We know what to expect from the area. I've always loved AZ

I wish you the best of luck Rage. Also who evicts someone during the holidays that is just wrong.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Rage. Hang in there, things will work themselves out, just stay focused on what's best for you and your family. It is pretty ridiculous to evict someone with new year's as a deadline....does she have any justification? If I were you, I would get as far away from DC as possible. Wish you all the best buddy, and don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything.

            Rage,

Sorry to hear it. Arizona sounds great. However, sounds like you are pretty well respected at your job but just not in a position for a promotion. If you would like, I can provide some training on how to better position yourself with your company for a promotion. It is nothing earth shattering and certainly not a gaurentee it will result in a promotion. But it will help you open dialogue with the company in a manner that will help you work out a road map to moving up.

To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave

About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.

Wow Rage i'll sorry to hear all the troubles you the and family are having. I know you guys will get through this your good people and have lots of friends and family to help, but it will get better. I like to look at things for the postive I remember when I visited and you had said that you wanted to get the family out of there, so maybe this isn't the best time, but maybe it is. You know where i live so you and the family are more then welcome to stay if need be I know the kids like it here.

I've been fighting to get promoted at work but they keep putting others in my the position I want; and I keep training them so they can move on.
At work I know that I'm a valued member, and so I try not to take things personal when it comes to for the position I seek. They are just trying to clean up some messes they had created by promoting the wrong people.

There is nothing worse than managerial incompetence. They just do not have any idea just how insulting or personally demeaning it is to have to train a new person with no experience in your company, in how to be your boss.

You're good enough to know the job, and certainly good enough to train others to do the job, and do the job itself but just not "good enough" to have the "official" job title.

And it all boils down to bullshit politics, ass kissing, and sometimes outright favortism in some cases.

                  Been there, done that.

I've been the lowly asshole that has to round up shopping carts out of the parking lot, up to having the keys to the business and managing the whole place, and everyone in it.

If you were truly a valued member, they would see that, and reward you accordingly, due your time, position, experience, and loyalty with them. That is, if they were ethical people.

But as always, the "Peter Principle" (Google it) holds true to form. It's just human nature. Especially in the business world.

Leave this place, and find a new home and job, You can have a new chance at life, hopefully with a new job that will appreciate everything that you could do, and offer them.

It has been my own personal experience in life, that God will close one door to you, only to offer many new doors of opportunity for growth for you and yours, and will in the long run make your life better than what you have now.

You might not see it right now at the moment, but this might just be the best thing that ever happened to you in the long run in what we call life.

Hang in there, be strong, and do what you truly feel is best for you and yours.
And know that you are in our thoughts and prayers for all of your family.

                  P.S., okay, I'll do it for y'all:

Thanks for the offers of help and the sorts. I know what has happened there. The BIG boss fucked up and promoted his buddies and people he thought were ready only to have FIRED most of them with in 3 month of their promotions (definitely Peter Principle candidates). So now they are trying to fix that and at the same time trying to make sure the next batch of promotions aren't idiots or just buddies

Sad really because I have far more experience with managing and dealing with people then most people in the company. My boss has expressed his disappointment that he can't get me to that position yet and that his hands are tied.

On the other note, yeah what the fuck is wrong with this scrooge of a landlord I have. Never paid the rent late not even once over the last 4 years, shit I even fixed the broken stuff around here since she wouldn't send anyone. Looks like i'll be putting my stuff in storage and moving my family into my mother's apartment for a few months while I try to buy something i can move to. The cool thing is my friend in Arizona wants me to take care of her clients and start doing bodywork again.

I would love to go back to doing that and stop selling people crap or dealing with random crazy people. Don't get me wrong I love what I do but would prefer something more peaceful where I can sit sometimes.

It's just crazy to think that I'll be moving during the holiday season where I have to work 12+ hour days and move with 2 little kids out of the home they grew up in. On the other hand I look forward to getting the hell away from this lady and not have to worry about what she'll do next.

                    again thanks for listening.

I'm Sorry to hear about your situation man. I hope things get better soon. I haven't lived life to the degree that most of you guys have; so I can't offer any meaningful advice. But I really hope everything works out for you and your family.

Rage, I wish you the best of luck. Situations like this makes you appreciate what's really important... like family. No gift nor money can ever give you the joy your kids and wife can bring. The holidays will be great because you have them by your side. That to me my friend makes you a rich man. Focus on what's important and you'll be just fine.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope you don't have to move to AZ but if you end up out there I wish you only the best. I am not sure how much longer I can work for Firehouse. I love the ideals of the company but the pay is some shit. Maybe I will end up out there too. Lol
