    Science Log Report

Once thought to have been lost in the far reaches of space, a tattered science frigate dredges homeward through the stars...

:::INCOMING TRANSMISSION:::SUB ORBITAL IMPERIAL SCIENCE FACILITY:::LOW CORUSCANT ORBIT:::
security protocol status : open Imperial frequency

If one could feel emotion, one would be greatful to be home and out of harms way. Such need for security is a weekness, outpowered by the search for knowledge and the fundamentals of logic, I return to report my findings.
For several months my crew, and science vessels have been bombarded by an onslaught of alien attack ships; Further research revealed their origin to be that of a race calling themselves, Yuuzhan Vong.

My entourage sustained considerable losses during the our latest encounter, and as a result, approximately ten thousand were lost when the Imperial Science Frigate SS Interceptor was destroyed. The remainder of our science tour took that as opportunity to gather any intel of the capabilities of our aggresors, and enough time to reactivate an already red-lined hyperdrive.
Science Engineer Dulcimer was promoted to Chief of Engineering staff for outstanding work with the hyperdrive.

For a time after that, all systems were running at a 30% efficiency, gradually worsening as the months progressed. Supplies were reaching a critical level and most auxiliary power had been diverted to life support to keep the murderous chill of space at bay. As a result, a small rebellion of mutinous defectors were detained and processed for pusposes of scientific research.

Since our return home, the ISF SS Interrogator has been decomissioned, to be replaced by a retrofitted Imperial Dreadnaught series Heavy Cruiser, ISF SS Incinerator. Chief Engineer Dulcimer will be assigned to this post, as well as my current elite science officers.

You get a Dreadnaught series as an ISF? Isn't that a bit of an overkill? After all it only takes a heavy cruiser to handle a space amoeba. But maybe it takes a bit more to handle crazy stuff like wookies or the blue lady? In a business where bigger is better, I know first hand how one must have the best ride in the galaxy. Enjoy your new ship and go get us some alien leg, first science officer Spock.

                spock' loose screw

thats a nice piece of writing spock. my only beef is the choice to use a dreadnought, considering it was a lost fleet (see: first novels by Timothy Zahn; Thrawn/Joruus C'Baoth trilogy *1995*). Other than that....w00t!

p.s. i have close to 50 SW novels ranging from Episode I-NJO. If you ever wanna borrow some lemme know. The only book i don't have right now is Shadows of the Empire (filling in episode 5-6) i let a friend borrow it. But come on.... who hasn't read about Dash Rendar's heroics and Prince Xizor of the Black Sun Syndicate's plot to destroy vader?

Well Tony if I remember right the dreadnought was a class not a fleet. The Katina fleet is what you are talking about you know the slave drive cursers that vanished into hyper-drive with all the infected men. If you remember that senator guy had three dreadnought class cursers not from the Katina fleet

Jeez. I watched the movies and play the game. I read a couple of the Zahn books once. I know we have real StormTroopers like Deslock in the clan---but I didn't know we had such fanboys in DSA! Not really my thing, but I find the level of knowledge here fascinating.

I can, however, talk pro football (Vikings in particular) with great aplomb as well as US Mens National Team Soccer.

so, it has come to this!

So now that I have your attention, I'd like to use this thread for imagination! Short stories, with or without references, should be posted here for now I suppose. I get bored easily and my minds natural defense against it is to daydream. That in mind, I offer you this:

:::INCOMING SUBSPACE TRANSMISSION:::LOW CORUSCANT ORBIT:::ISF SS INCINERATOR COMMAND DECK:::

                            SECURITY STATUS: LOW

                            Science log report: 0002

Since the return of the ISF preliminary expedition and prisoner transfers complete, things have been running quite smoothly on the newly commissioned ISF cruiser; The vast area of this newly acquired craft is substantial enough to accomodate the space necessary for a variety of experiments and training excercises.

Trusted sources report that we have been selected to be the base of operations for our bounty network, as the conjunction of this network with the ISF will enhance current intel gathering methods, expected to increase the accuracy of said information. As a result, a secure number of previously decommissioned IG series Assassin Droids have arrived for maintenance and protocol programming.

We expect to achieve full opperating capacity within one week's time, when we are scheduled for our preliminary inspection. The ISF will then join the Fleet in a formation display in honor of our Emperor.

Currently there are no outstanding assignments for the ISF, however, rising concerns over the mysterious race know as the Yuuzhan Vong have kept the ISF senior staff on high alert, as intel is vague at best.

There is nothing further to report at this time.
                            ISF Executive Science Officer Evilspock
