We will never forget what happend that fateful day.

We will never forget where we were standing when we heard the news.

We will never forget the terrible tragedy that befell our nation.

We will never forget the horrible things that we saw.

We will never forget those who lost their lives on the planes and in the buildings.

We will never forget the man who orchestrated this attack.

We will never forget the men and women who gave their lives to save countless others.

          We will never forget.
          IN THIS BATTLE,
THERE IS ONLY VICTORY OR DEFEAT,

If anyone remember's the post RabidHunter put up about a year ago last year, I wrote a long reply to that, so I won't go on for another hour ramble here. Search for it, you'll find it. But I'm watching this whole rememberence they have on ESPN Classic right now. Sort of interested in seeing that day's SportCenter, I don't think I watched that because I figured all day they'd have ABC's coverage of the World Trade Center. But never forget that day. Other boards I'm on, not one post has been about today or it's signifigance and it sickens me. In February I downloaded the Halftime show for Super Bowl XXXVI (Pats vs. Rams) the one with U2 preforming "Beautiful Day" and "Where the Streets Have No Name" and Bono opens his jacket to reveal an American flag sewn into it that he had carried out throughout the last part of their "Elevation" tour, and today for the first time in a while (probably since I downloaded it).

Broadcaster Jack Buck gave a speech and poem before the first baseball game after 9/11 and I have his famous quote and his poem, as well as a lyric from Coldplay's song that was written days after the attacks.

"For me the question has already been answered. Should we be here tonight? Yes."

Since this nation was founded under
God, more than 200 years ago,

            We've been the bastion of
            Freedom...

The light which keeps the free world
            Aglow.

We do not covet the possessions of
Others, we are blessed with the
            Bounty we share.

We have rushed to help other
            Nations...anything...anytime...
            Anywhere.

War is just not our nature...we
Won't start, but we will end the fight.

If we are involved we shall be
Resolved to protect what we know is
            Right.

            We've been challenged by a
Cowardly foe, who strikes and then
            Hides from our view.

With one voice we say there's no
Choice today, there is only one
            Thing to do.

Everyone is saying the same thing
And praying that we end these
            Senseless moments we are living.

As our fathers did before, we shall
            Win this unwanted war.

So our children will enjoy the
Future, we'll be giving. -Jack Buck

            And give me love over
            Love over
            Love over
            This- Politik, Coldplay

As we remember 9/11 I just hope that we don’t forget. As we all know we must remember our brothers and sisters who have given, or risked their lives to give us the freedoms that we enjoy. We must not forget this when we are told that there should be a war in Iraq. The world without Saddam Hussein in power is one less place where terrorist can hide from justice. When we are told that a soldier’s are killing innocent civilians. As has been stated we send troops over to protect us. And although I never had the honor of being on the battlefield with RegentOne this is a fine example of what we need to remember. Let us never forget.

Good read from Jeter and Zabka. You guys are the true heroes to have lived though this horrific event while living in New York.

I remember where I was the day the towers were hit and how mad and upset I was at the sight of destruction. I was stationed at Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group Two out of Little Creek, Virginia Amphibious Base. I was planning the weekly communications Power Point presentation for our Commodore when one of my guys rushed in and said the towers had been struck by a jet. I was in amazement at what I saw. Every military person in my building was plugged to a TV. You could see the anger in everyone's face as silence spread through the building. We were all standing by for orders from our Commander-in-Chief, President Bush. The anticipation of retaliating was eating at each of us.

America can rest assured that our military will never forget this moment in history. We carry this event under our sleeves in pursuit of justice and democracy. We will not waiver until the ones responsible are brought to justice. We will continue the fight on the Global War on Terrorism as our Nation and Commander-in-Chief will it.

I am proud to represent my country, state, and fellow DSA brethren in the US Navy. I do not take what happened in the past lightly.

It's a sad and horrible day. Surreal. Walking with millions of people in the Streets of NY... with a strange sense of community--never had I seen such politeness in the streets before.

I think about the people I knew who died in the WTC...I didn't know them well, but that doesn't matter much to me. I think about the heroism of the people who went to try to save them. I remember a friend of mine's wife was a nurse at Mt Sinai (over 7 miles away) heading down to where they were setting up makeshift emergency hospitals to deal with all the injured from the disaster---only nobody came.

This world is a messed up place. Workers who helped clear debris have severe health issues, but the EPA and govt wont admit it or give them any benefits (some have died). They deemed the air down there fit within a week or two in order to reduce fear and stabilize the economy--but that was so clearly a lie, I felt anger at the lack of regard the govt showed toward's its own citizens' health. I won't go into the war as I don't think politics are appropriate here--but I have been angered since Sept 12, 2001 when specious links were being drawn to Iraq, and here we sit on Sept 12, 2006 and bin Laden continues to put out videotapes---the dude is on a DIALYSIS machine and we couldn't get him? The war in Afghanistan never got its due--and that was a war the entire world supported. Five years later and the whole world is an incredible mess.

Today in NY---you might not have even known it was 9/11. it was odd. people just walking around like all was normal. I felt off the whole day.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

Bush is our leader. even if you don't like him patritisim is when we stand behind our president. Clinton had the chance but would rather not risk his PR.

                            I offer you this

Lets think about the logistics of a strike. Civilians did not deserve to die, however it was a provoked attack; Anyone want to discuss the 80's and the communist invasion of the Islamic nations, and how the US took a stand against it, who the CIA trained to do it, and the debt the nations of Islam then owed to the US.

Im not saying that we deserved it by any means and I too was angered when it happened, action and reaction, just as we in turn wiped out the majority of the Bin Laden posse.

We must stand as a nation behind our leaders, like them or not, and they in turn must do what is in the best interest of that nations people as a whole. Leaders of nations are only human and also make mistakes, like our clan, but strength is not in the one - but in the many who stand together, like our clan.

The good and the bad? In my opinion, Bush diverted attention to Iraq and Saddam too soon and left the elusive Bin Laden at large to be the flagholder for radical extremist loonies around the globe; But we got Saddam out.

America has it's extremist groups who act independantly and without notice, so does the rest of the world, the CIA doesn't even know where they are or when they will, if they will attack us. It takes resources to conduct an attack of the caliber of 9/11, and most of these amatuer groups don't have them, let alone the man power.

Violence propogates violence, and so perhaps we will see the end of this whole mess in a big ball of hell fire.

The world has a long way to go
watch this before its flagged and removed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOykVwFDEkw pay attention to the lyrics
