            Grejo,

I'm your huckleberry! Love Tombstone and nearly all of the ones you guys mention are good stuff. I'm pretty easy when it comes to movies but here's some personal favs. I LOVE movies so we should have a Sticky for recommended flicks as well as favorite quotes.

            Top 10 Movies/Trilogies for Mace:

LOTR Trilogy (although ROTK is the best film I have ever seen)
            Original SW Trilogy (of course)
Highlander (just the first one, the others are CRAP!!!)
            Spider-Man
            American Beauty
            American Flyers
40-Year Old Virgin (one of the absolute funniest movies ever!)
            Pulp Fiction
            The Shawshank Redemption
            Raiders of the Lost Ark

And not in the Top 10 but darn good movies are:

Equilibrium (if you like The Matrix, rent this one)
            Narnia
Sin City (tell your kids to leave the room)
Harry Potter (I'm losing count but they are fun to watch)
            Kill Bill Volume 1
Bottle Rocket (tell Anthony I love him!)
            Rushmore
            Life Aquatic
            The Sixth Sense
Clerks and pretty much anything Kevin Smith comes up with

Thank you for saying American History X and Boondock Saints

Here are some of the ones I like and you should like them too. Or else

Dead Alive/Braindead - A Peter Jackson movie about Love and Zombies

Blazing Saddles or anyother Mel Brooks movie

Goonies - Because we all wanted to find One Eyed Willy...lol

El Mariachi - A Robert Rodriguez film. It was the first of the "Mariachi" films. Desperado amd Once Upon a Time in Mexico are the others

Night of the Living Dead - George Romero is one of the best out there.

The Toxic Avenger - It's a Troma film what more can I say other than I will be in one of their movies one day.

On the Waterfront - A seriously great film. "I coulda been a contender."

That is all I can think of for now. Most of you have posted some of my other Favorite movies so I'll not repeat them here.

I can't believe some of the films people are not mentioning:

                      1. The Godfather (and even Godfather2, but definitely not 3)
                      2. This is Spinal Tap
                      3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
                      4. Trading Places
                      5. Goodfellas
                      6. Swingers
                      7. The Seven Samurai (just rereleased on DVD--amazing film)
                      8. Almost Famous
                      9. Taxi Driver
                      10. The Untouchables

For other movies that are up there:

Rocky (1 and 2, none of the rest)
                      Casablanca
                      It's a Wonderful Life
                      Citizen Kane
                      Apocolypse Now

                      Funny movies:
Other than the three I listed above

Dumb and Dumber (best Jim Carey by far)
Naked Gun series (It's Enrico Palazzo!!)
Chevy Chase's triumvirate--Caddyshack, Fletch, and Vacation
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (Sean Penn--who woulda thunk?)
                      Mighty Wind
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

LOL! Karate Kid is sort of like Rocky (but not quite that caliber--Rocky won best picture, Karate Kid had Pat Morita nominated for best supporting actor)--very good first movie followed by increasingly worse movies (alhthough Rocky2 was just as good and funnier) where the final movie is something that you would rather believe never actually happened. The Next Karate Kid starring Hillary Swank? Give me a break. Rocky 5 starring Tommy "I got AIDS, no I don't" Morrison? Pitiful. The fact that stallone is making a Rocky 6 when he is like 60 years old is pathetic.

But Karate Kid was one of the most rewatchable movies out there for me---that's part of how I determine my favorites. I can watch stop what I am doing and get engrossed in rewatching any of the 10 I listed above. Shawhank is also like that for me. Rewatchable and quotable rank high on my list. Oh that reminds me--BOOGIE NIGHTS!!! One of my favorite movies of all time.

Top Gun would have been up there for quotability, but that's mostly due to the unintentional comedy. Karate Kid is incredibly quotable--as are Fletch, Fast Times, Trading Places, Monty Python, Spinal Tap--wow.

Norm--on the Waterfront is definitely a phenomenal movie. I saw it in 10th grade before I even realized that it was Brando as a young man well before Godfather.

Christ--you like some pretty bad movies! Replacements? Waiting? Gone in 60 Seconds? Those aren't even close to watchable on cable! Icould have written those movies in a drunken stupor in high school. Although I am with you on Road Trip--I prefer it over Old School actually. Then again Animal House was the best of that brand of comedy.

Finally--Mace, it's not just my avatar--it's my handle too! Zabka is the last name of the actor who played the bad guy in Karate Kid. He played the bad guy in Just one of the guys, back to school, European vacation, and a couple others too. He was the perfect WASPY anti-hero in 80s movies...like James Spader, but a tough guy!

I find it interesting that nobody lists musicals--not manly enough for most I suppose (and most of them suck). But some of the more enjoyable movies over the years ahve been musicals--West Side Story, Hair, Grease, even Moulin Rouge (less for the music more for the absolute originality of it all), and that holiday staple--Sound of Music. Have I convinced everybody that I am a girl now? Nah, I am just a film buff.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!
