News Radio was the @#*&! If we are talking straight up standup, well that would be a long list cause I love standup, but Robin Williams is great, and I always liked Dom Rickles. He would pick on anyone in the audience, and didn't care what ethnicity, or religious beliefs you had, and was very quick with his wittiness and insults. As far as a "modern" standup I would have to say Carlos Mencia. His show is good, and his "No Strings Attatched" is hillarious.

Wow, there are some good ones here but I have a few to add. I like most of these guys and there are a few here I have to go learn more about for sure.

And I have seen George Carlin in concert. . . hilariously funny man!

I know what you're gonna say but I'm writing it anyway. Jim Carrey. I'm not talking about his movies, I'm talking about seeing him in concert too when I was in school 8-10 years ago. Although some of his stuff was predictable, the guy had so much energy up on stage that you couldn't help but laugh your head off!!!

And the other personal fav is Brian Regan (pronounced REE-gun). Very funny guy and you can probably find some of his stuff online if you're interested. His bits are VERY CLEAN and yet VERY FUNNY! I like being able to find someone I enjoy who doesn't have to have wall to wall profanity to make himself funny so this guy is it. He'll still pretty much show up at your local comedy club so keep an eye out for him and buy a ticket when he comes to town. FYI, you still have to be 21 or 18 or whatever as these places usually set an age minimum.

And finally, Sasha Baron Cohen (a.k.a. Ali G) as he portrays Borat, the loveable Kazahkstani news reporter. I know Comp mentioned Ali G but I have to go with Borat first.

My buddy went as Ali G for Halloween and I went as Borat one year. Although the characters were somewhat unknown by the masses at the time, everyone thought our getups were a riot.

Finally, note to Zab: How can you not think Dane Cook is funny? I was watching his routine a few weeks ago and the stuff he does about the DMV or giving people the finger is really very good. Man, I thought I knew ya!

        Later,

        Mace

Speaking of Newsradio, I was watching some afternoon tv and It came on TBS around 1 pst. Was the episode where Bill tries to quit smoking and ends up in the hospital because he was wearing 15 nicotine patches around his waist like a belt. Jimmy James is so great on that show.

"Beefcake the Mighty, clotted with spew. His sword falls, skulls burst in two. The eyes burst from sockets, he is not through. Thousands of warriors he does this to. Piling the corpses of those that he slew. Untill it was hard to tell if the pile grew!"-GWAR

i just saw newsradio today for the first time, had no idea Joe Rogan had prior tv experience, but yeah i think it shows on tbs every weekday at one no matter what timezone. Is the Mr. James guy the guy from office space with the stapler and the guy in dodgeball with the mailorder wife?
