I was just on the TF (the forgotten) site after my curiosity was piqued from seeing a sig in my old socom clan's website. There, I learned the sad news that (VG) Sandoval--who was (TF) Sandoval after VG dissolved, passed away last month on the operating table. Apparently he had a congenital heart defect. He was going in for a procedure when they found a much bigger problem that required very major surgery. During this time, he was posting on their site and explaining his absence. His clanmates called him in the hospital prior to his surgery, took up a donation to buy him a 360 with some games, and were going to have one of them visit him in the hospital to deliver the get well gift after his surgery. Sadly, he died during surgery. He was 32.
This all took place within the span of about a week in th middle of November. It was right before his birthday and his anniversary with his clan. I was impressed with how his clanmates rallied around him and supported him. And I feel for his family.
I didn't know Sandoval all that well--only having played with him some in SWBF1 (and I think he played a little socom2 when VG was expanding into socom2--same time as JLA was formed by DSA). But most of my interactions with him were from the old Lucas Arts SWBF1 forums. He always seemed like a good guy with a quick wit. For any of you that knew him, I thought you might like to know.
Rest In Peace, VG, TF Sandoval.
