    Old X-mas Toys O' Death

Enjoy, lol, I know I did. How in the Hell did we ever survive these things?, lol. We had Lawn Darts, and no one ever got hurt. You were supposed to be smart enough to stay the Hell out of the way when someone was throwing the Dart O' Death. Just click where it says "Next Toy". I want one of those Johnny Reb cannons...heh.

The 10 most dangerous toys of all time Last month, Target recalled 10 of its Kool Toyz-brand play…

HELL YES!!!!!!! I still got my set!!!!! Pulled them out this summer when I had a drunken BBQ at my house! Even the dogs know to move when those things fly! Some of my best childhood memories involve us throwing those things at each other!!!!

They banned those things because a fair number of people did die from them!

Eh..only four people, which is surpirsingly low considering most people used them in conjunction with alcohol. Fact is, they weren't meant for kids, but as usual instead of watching their kids it was easier to just ban them. Granted that's easy for me to say, I don't have kids and your perepctive on those sort of things totally changes once the puppies start coming.

Since we are on teh subject of kids hurting themselves...here ya go!

aside from those who died---think about how many had some serious injuries!! those things, if thrown high enough picked up some speed on their way down----and somebody could easily walk in the path without knowing any better! What an idea.

It reminds me of the old SNL skit with Dan Akyroyd selling kids toys---like "Bag O' Glass" which was a bag of broken glass.

I also remember the Battlestar Galactica figures and the missles. The Cylon Raider and Colonial Viper both had the ability to shoot the missles. Then the choking thing happened. They started making them so the missles wouldn't be removed--they would just pop out an inch, but were anchored within the ship. Not nearly as cool as the commercials where kids would fly their ships over a stack of dixie cups with an action figure on top and knock them down with a missle.

There was a warning on the box saying to watch out for eyes and that missles could be lost. ha!

I never got one...I only had the action figures--Adama, Apollo, Starbuck, Cylon Centurion, Cylon Leader. They were cheaper than star wars figures.

You know it is time to thin the herd. Whatever gets the freeways moving faster in my opinion.

When I think about all the crap we used to do to each other with lawn darts, bottles rockets, bb guns and snowball fights it is a wonder anyone survived. But no...we have to ban everything. Just once I want to see a kid ride a skateboard without a helmet.

Drizzle, drunken BBQ's at your place sound like a blast. I am glad to see people still keeping the old school alive.

Now someone go out and spank one of your kids in a public place before this country keeps getting more pussified...Next thing you know we will start seeing Doggy Gap and kitty Gap so people can keep dressing there pets.

                but I digress....lol
                Boom. Outta here.

I never skated ramps without a helmet. I was too cruddy of a skater to try without pads and a helmet...wait, I take it back, Ilearned how to fakey up and down the ramp without a helmet.

Foolish. I had friends break their legs in three places.

Problem is where does the banning end? Next thing you know it will be grade school football, kids get hurt every years, some paralyzed, so should we ban that too?

Fact is we survived childhood by not being morons, we took are scrapes and we learned from them, a few unfortunate idiots and some kids just in the wrong place at the wrong time died. But I honestly think the world is better for it.

Imagine if you never had tho think about danger ever! You never had a single story about some friend when you were little who did something just monumentally stupid and got jacked up! All I think that would happen is you would find a lot more accidents happening to adults where the consequences could be much more severe. My point is, if you make it too safe then we will never have examples to go by. If the current trend persists, the only examples of childhood danger are going to come from us sitting around the old folks home talking about Lawn darts and lLady Fingers! Well you guys...I plan on dying of cerosis of the liver long before then!

I just got a new creepy crawler kit for a friend. Now instead of the hot plate there's a whimpy 40watt lightbulb. However, another friend at the party recalled getting the original creepy crawly kit as a kid, exposed hotplate and all. lol

Of course drizzle, they will ban anything and everything to get their names in the papers and feel like they are doing something. From major issues like prayer, to little ones like playing tag...yes tag has been banned in some schools cause it too dangerous. WTF? The best, easiest game that provides a shit load of exercise is banned. Oh so you want our kids to be in front of the tv or not? You can't have it both ways you damn politically correct bastards. Lets ask the kids from these damn school shootings, did they do it cause they got hurt playing tag or something, or was their "hurt" done by some pshcological damage from other kids? (if anything at all like that happened) Seriously my bruise would heal faster than someone picking on me. Hell I remember some mean things done to me when I was growing up, but I don't remember every little injury I got over the years from some product, or silly game.....damn did I rant enough here lol.

A lot of parents are guilty too, they don't want to take the time to raise their kids. I work in call center for the damn cable company, ya know how many calls I get from psycho parents screaming bloody murder because they were just digging in their back yard, cut their own line and then scream bloody murder about the fact that they have three kids and "what the @#$% am I supposed to do with three kids and no TV until tomorrow morning?".....I dunno....try reading them a book, having them play outside....I hear NyQuill shuts them up pretty well!

I'm sick of people who have kids, but don't understand the responsibility and time involved. There are a lot of really good parents out there, but unfortunately there are A LOT of really bad ones too! They are the ones who are always pressing for these bans or crying about there being too much sex or voilence on TV...yeah, only reason they bitch is because if they have to monitor what their kids watch they can't use it as a baby sitter and go in the other room and give hand jobs for crack.....

Wow..considering I am sober that wa a pretty good rant!

Lunch time...and it sounds like I could use a few cigs!
