One of my friends recently suprised me; without any warning, by giving me the original Hasbro Death Star playset from the late 70's, complete, and mint in box.

I was stunned beyond belief. Never before besides my sweet girlfriend getting my Tie Armor has ever suprised me that much.

I'll post some piccy's soon of my entire collection soon.

I was sooo blown away! 8O It was awesome! It's now become the center piece of my entire collection of Star Wars stuff.

I remember the Death Star. it had a trash compactor with a little crank that you turned and it had the door for them to bust out of (I remember that from the commerciasl). Wasn't it also multi level?

They were even making sets of stuff that didn't really exist...like a droid factory---remember that one? you could make other droids or another r2d2. I remember the jawa sand crawler was kind of weak as it was mostly painted cardboard representing the sand crawler, but it had a little elevator that represented the vacuum that you could use to suck r2 into the sandcrawler.

Creature Cantina was one of the cooler ones---all the hasbro figures had alittle holes in their feet that were used to attache them to pegs that were placed on different sets. The creature cantina included a peg that was on a piece of spring loaded plastic that the switch of a button would cause to pop---so that the figure on that peg would fall down as if shot.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

I'll post one of my hobbies. In my spare time I really like to cook. I like making things I have never made before and I like a challenge. Just this week I made a whole Italian meal with everything made from scratch including the sauce, bruschetta, ciabatta bread, cannoli, etc. Basically, anything I can do with my hands or build I enjoy.

            Mdg, that's awesome !!!

I'm almost done with my Chef's training, and I've already been offered a few jobs point blank on the spot. I just don't know which one I want to choose. Not an easy choice. Glad you keep challenging yourself with new dishes ! that's the best way to learn besides working with actual Chefs.. It pays off in the end, and your lady will love you for it. ! ;) Keep up the good work ! You learn new stuff, and eat good yummies !

I buy new cook books and read them like most read new novels. I love to sit down with a new cook book and read it cover to cover.

It amazes me over the years how much I've grown and changed. I used to love being in the SCA and doing medieval re-enactment and fighting in my suit of armor, to no longer doing that, and wearing a suit of Stormtrooper armor instead.

I've found out for myself since Lucas literally killed Star Wars for me with his shitty prequels, I don't like it as much as I used to when I first posted this thread.

Darth Vader started out as a whiny, complaining EMO bitch boy...?

The awesome ass scary Stormtroopers started out as F'n clones...?

Boba Fett is just another F'n Clone...?

The Force is not a magical force field surrounding all things like magic that anyone could train to use, but is rather just "bugs" in certain peoples' blood...?

Wow George, thanks for killing that for me..... Really. And then NO SWBF3...!!!!??? Lucas really strangled to death any love that I might've had for his franchise. What a shame. And so unwanted by so many of his fans. He killed the dark allure of Vader that so many of us loved, and gave us Jar Jar instead.

            With shit and fart jokes....

Oh well, alas I digress. ;)

            New guys....

            Post your hobbies !!!!

              This thread is fun,

I have many hobbies other than video games; I love to design (Architecture is my trade), I've skateboarded since I was 10, riding fixed gear / single speed bikes, and I have played bass and guitar for about 10 years. I have played in a hand full of bands if you are interested ill post some links.

Right now however I am almost 100% occupied by small motorcycles and mopeds. I buy rat and weather eaten old junk and make it shiny... and fast.

Here is my lastest creation 1977 Lazer sport 50 completely redone, engine rebuilt cylinder porting, paint blah blah blah.

Lastley my girlffriend thought it would be cute to take a picture of her on the bike... Like I would ever let her ride it :)

I like that bike you redid. The paint is old school and looks great on it. Nice work man.

Thank you, I agree i love the black and coffee tan. I was inspired by a 40's Knucklehead that had a similar paint job.

Well, I enjoy doing a variety of things. Before I started working nights shifts back in the day I was involved in Kenpo Karate. I made it to the rank of Blue belt before I had to give it up. I still practice from time to time. The thing I miss most is traveling the country and competing in Tournaments. Kickin a guys ass in front of a crowd is fun and very rewarding...lol.

I really enjoy hunting and fishing as well. Got some friends that have a large piece of property in Canada and we go up there for 10 days on a fishing trip. We try to make it once a year but sometimes it's difficult to make happen.

I also enjoy lifting weights and working out.

oh hell.... i kinda have my foot in everything. most recently it has been working on my 1966 buick skylark. me and my dad got the body work done and now it is on to blocking the primer so it is perfect. then after i get it in the final coat of primer i will be moving on to the intereor of the car. gonna put a sweet system in it noting too big but i am going to have some wicked bass.

then i mess around with small electrical projects mostly seeing what i can put retro game systems in right now i am thinking about putting a genesis inside of a melenium falcon and doing a svideo mod on it then i have a nes i am just going to fill in some holes and change it form mono to sterio audio. get rid of the clunky ac adapter. just small things maybe paint it up put a view window in it.

mmmmmm other than that working on my classic game collection ( 150 nintendo entertainment system carts and counting). and building a new pc for video editing.

my art i love drawing and painting.

                          Hmmm...

Texas Hold 'em - live cash games not tournaments.
Cooking - all types but right now I am into bbq/smoking.
Paintball - A few years ago I traveled the country playing in the national events for PSP and NPPL.
Movies - I love movies and I love to critic them with friends after we see them.
Comic books - Spiderman specifically. Not really actively collecting right now like I use to back in the day.

New Hobby is "learning" to play the guitar. Only been at since Jan 2011. I am HORRIBLE and honestly have no musical talent what so ever. But it was one of those things I wanted to try and push myself to do/learn. It seems I may be starting to be a collector of guitars as I have bought 4 already.

Not really a "hobby" but I have started to learn more about personal investing. And I enjoy it. To date, I always rely on a financial planner for advise. I really am not educated enough to "question" what my advisor suggests. I'd like to get to the point were I set the strategy, target the investments and have the planner simply consult with me.

Hobbies you say? Well pretty much a large portion of my life was and still is devoted to soccer. I played from a youth all the way through college, a few years semi pro as well. Now I coach, ref, and play pick up matches whenever possible.

I've also been involved in the performing arts for a long time. Yes... I can sing, dance, and do them well enough that people would actually pay to see it. Crazy.

I also have a passion for leadership and teaching. I'm a Medical Lab Scientist by trade with an education background in biology and chemistry. I help out at local elementary schools and High Schools in hopes of helping kids turn to health related fields (or at least not to flunk out of basic bio class).

Oh yea... and can't forget those 3 kids and a wife. Keeping the fam happy seems to be my biggest hobby at the moment.

I like to collect Hello Kitty and anything Pikachu. I have the Nintendo 64 Pika version, over which Yentis drools. Mah ha ha. He has one, but it's missing the front piece, and mine is whole.

I have a MASSIVE Hello Kitty collection. Oh and I help Des yard haunt. I love Halloween.

Other than that, I like to read *Dark Tower series--w00t!*. I love anything by Stephen King, including some of the movies/TV shows they've made out of his material. Some of it is atrocious, and I just pretend it was never made ie IT. Ugh.

I also LOVE Game of Thrones, Walking Dead *pretty much anything with zombies in it hee hee* and anything Joss Whedon does. Also, the paranormal facinates me, and I love watching ghost shows and scary movies.

I'm not very "girly"--well except maybe my undying love of anything/everything Kitty. Oh and cats. I love cats. Kitties rule.:D
