As I said Des, given a little more time and a few more good titles and I may very well own one as well. I just want to give it time to mature.
I have a rendezvous with Death, at some disputed barricade. It may be he shall take my hand and lead me into his dark land, and close my eyes and quench my breath, it may be I shall pass him still. I have a rendezvous with Death, on some scarred slope of battered hill. And I to my pledged word am true, I shall not fail that rendezvous.
Found this bit of video. It shows some side by side screen shots of the same game. Both versions look nice, but the PS3 versions seems better. I want to see more videos like this.

Sorry this is the correct link. I had troubles getting the correct one with Firefox lol.
is this the right link? I saw an angry video game nerd video.
BTW---I posted a link a few weeks ago showing side by side comparison of NBA Street Homecourt. While they don't look identical, they both looked sweet. Lighting and texture appears to be a little different between the two, but generally speaking, it is a matter of opinion. Somebody also did this with MUA and I was amazed at seeing all the fanboys leap up to defend their version's and bash the others. Again, they looked different, but both very good. Slightly different textures and lighting---but nothing that would make me care one way or another. At this point, I don't think there is much graphical difference (although many 360 supporters say that the graphics capabilities on the 360 are greater). These differences are not like the xbox and the PS2--xbox graphics were clearly superior. The ps3 and 360 comparisons are sort of like coke and pepsi so far.

the link provided in there has a few game comparisons. I think if you didn't see one side labeled ps3 and one 360, that people's opinions would probably vary from scene to scene and game to game.

On the elder scrolls, it appears to me that the 360 is a little bit darker (which should be adjustable). But it seems pretty consistent. There is a case of load time for the 360 that doesnt' exist for the PS3. but at the same time, the textures in the 360 looked better (most evidenced by teh cracked dirt road). Either way, I think it is all nit-picking and since the PS3 release is so much later than the the 360, it isn't clear how much of any differences is due to a tweaking of what was alrready on the 360. Overall, I would call it a wash---but then again, I don't play RPGs as they bore me to tears.
the NBA Street one is a good comparison where I could see they were different, but I had no opinion on which was better.

I have to concur. The PS3 version is somewhat lighter than the 360 version. But that doesn't mean that the PS3 version is "better". It just means that the PS3 is "slightly" better in raw processing power than the 360. But if the overall graphics and game play is the same, it's basically redundant.
In almost two years, of course the graphics on the PS3 might be very slighty better, but I think like those posted videos show a slight difference, but as long as the gameplay and fun level is the same, It doesn't really matter.
Today I had a hardcore 360 gamer come in and seriously wanted to know which system is better, the 360 or PS3.
I explained all the differences to him, and that both systems were great. He already owned a 360, and wanted to know why the PS3 was so different. Which is hard. Kinda like someone asking "Which is better, the ps2 or Wii".
In this case, there really truly isn't really a difference. It depends on individual viewpoint. I.E. "Which is better, Chevy or Ford?"
I explained all the differences to him between all three systems, and why it was so important to him to decide as to what system met what he wanted for his needs. All three systems are good at what they do.
Do you want community, support, next gen, pay for play doesn't bother you, or does it? No good to sell a system to someone that's going to bring it back because it's not what he/she wanted in the long run. Especially when we don't get any credit back for whichever system the customer returns.
He already had a 360 and Live, so he already knows the community and the great support it gives. But he was subjective, which was nice for change. So many are just "Fanboys" of one system in regards to the other. I personally like all three systems, but for different reasons.
So as he was a diehard 360 fan, he bought a PS3, and I don't think he'll be dissapointed with either. Which I was happy to see. Just because you have Ford car that you love, doesn't mean that you wouldn't be as happy with a new Chevy also. It was refreshing to see someone with a "open minded" viewpoint".
Neither is really better or worse. It all depends on what you want.
And in the end, it's really your money, and your individual desire on what you want.
No matter which way you go depending on your needs, you won't be dissapointed.
