    Microsoft abandons its own

To use this product, you need to install free software

This product requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 with Microsoft Media Player 10 and Macromedia Flash 6 or higher versions, or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 with Macromedia Flash 8, or Safari 2.0.4 with Macromedia Flash 8. To download these free software applications, click the links below and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Step 1: download firefox 1.5
    download firefox 1.5

Step 2: Download Macromedia Flash Player
Macromedia Flash player is free to download.

If still having problems, uninstall Flash and then re-install Flash.
Once the installations are complete, reload this page.
    This was grabbed from video.msn.com

Some one at MSN finally got the right idea. It took me a second to figure out what was wrong with the page but I felt it right away. I happened to be using SeaMonkey at the time so I didn't show up using Firefox.

To all who support IE I hope you realize that not even those at Microsoft do.

    :P

Umm.. Yes it CAN. It's called checking your settings.

Now don't me wrong, I like firefox, but I also like IE. The amount of times I have had errors with IE are matched with those of FF.

What really pisses me off is the ppl that are so arrogant about their MS hatred they become the very thing they all swear they hate.

Like this following link for example.. If you notice, the page loads perfectly fine in IE, and if you stop the page load before the shadily placed page redirect, you will notice their are absolutely no errors. Yet these die hard fanatics against MS with thier "forcing us to use thier products" have become just like MS. Go figure.

Most websites have or had to be tweaked at one point or another to work with FF. Like this site. It's actually more work for me to get things to function properly for FF then IE. If it works, Use it.

To play on the words of an old saying.
"If your webpage loads in IE, thank MS. IF it loads in FF, thank your webmaster".

** BTW the page you posted Pants loads perfectly fine in IE for me.

At my work its our policy to instruct users to use Firefox as their primary browser. We tell them only to use IE when they come across an application that requires it, and then only use it for that. Since we started doing this malware infestations have gone way down, and users do not report performance issues when browsing. Thank the web designers too for that!

IE7 is even slower compared to IE6 or Firefox. Ironically, Microsoft gave it to us as a "critical update"...hah

I'm almost certain I didn't post a link and I'm sure it would work in IE it's just that I was using an obscure browser at the time and it suggested to DL Firefox. Unless you are speaking of something else.

Just a note to all who have been reading this, you can now get a plugin for FF that will allow you to open a page in an "IE tab". It also allows you to change rendering engines between FF and IE. Now you can have the juicy goodness of FF with no need to have that "other" browser installed to view poorly made pages.

So your talking about the issue with Viewing MSN Video?? I browse MSN video on all my computers running IE7 with no problems. There was an issue at first but that was an issue with macromedia and the changeover to adobe.

Ive used Xp for a long time and its installed along with IE7 and MP10 on all 4 of my PC's ranging from 6 months to over 10 years old. Never had an issue i couldnt resolve myself. security has never been a problem because i practice safe habits online and My newtork has never been down other than some quick routine mantenance.

My friends are always telling me I run a security risk. Im going to get hacked. Microsoft crashes too much. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH LOL

Nice post Andy but between you and me.......Im not buying it. This was definetly a problem with Macromedia after Adobe bought them out. This was not a Microsoft problem and the post you put up was a workaround but no longer is necessary. IE7 and MSN video work fine together. If not then its something on your end.
Momma always told me never put off tomorrow Stuff you can blow up today!!!!
