    Okay, I admit it.

    I suck at FPS games.

The other night I logged onto BFMC2, and was promptly pwned by everyone. So dismayed and pissed off I figured I'd log on to the RFOM servers on the PS3.

Yep, I was pwned again. And then some. I got even more pissed off and figured I'd go into the DSA space maps. I may suck on the ground, but at least in a fighter I can hold my own.

    Nope.

Messerschmidt came in and pwned me again. And again.

It seems like everyone has a time when nothing you can do is right. When every time you meet an enemy and they through some hellish ability seems to be able to get the drop on you, no matter how hard you try, no matter how good you are.

I thought foolishly, since I'd beaten RFOM, that I had a decent control of the format of the controller.

That is, until I went online with it.

I must've thrown my controller in rage at least three times as I was pwned again and again.

Jesus Allmighty, some people need to "get a life".

Maybe when you get so good that you can kill everyone online, maybe, just maybe, you should step outside, and meet a real girl, talk to your real life friends, and tell them how important they are to you, and get a breath of fresh air.

Just a thought from a tired old man.

    Peace out.

    Des.

We are in similar situations, all I wanted to do is take my finals graduate highschool and have an actual life with work and women and friends and my god all i do is get killed. I could just as easily start the game and then go do something else and get the same score as if i played my damnest. Is it weird to not feel quite nerdy enough?

eh. If you have the other stuff going on in your life, you shouldn't care so much about the games...they are just for fun. If you are in my position with a wife and kids, then games become a natural outlet that replaces the frequency of going out and tearing it up. Sooo I play a bit more than I would have expected but not as much as many out there.

I would say that there is no shooter you can step into from single player and do well in multiplayer. In fact, I find that I don't like playing against AI before going into multiplayer because the reactions are so different. Any shooter takes at least a few days of acclimation to get into again. To switch the games around with that frequency will result in never getting the hang of any one game. A few weeks ago I was doing, swbf2, socom, graw2, gow, RB6. Too much. I have since scaled back on my socom because I just don't play it enough for one week of practice to be enjoyable. I only play gow on DSA practice nights and suck at it..but that is just for fun.

I am improving in RB6 as a result of a bit more focus on the play. But when I pop in GRAW, it takes me a while to adjust.

Also---if you are getting pwned, check to make sure your connection is working fine. I have found some nights where i am shooting what appear to be rubber bullets as I unload entire clips into the back of someone's head and nothing happens. Sometimes it is the connections...sometimes I am just missing and sucking.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

i feel that way a lot Deslock. But i do get outside and have fun with girls and friends. I'm also going to be working out a lot this summer and going on vacations with friends.

BUT there is a time where you suck at everything in a game and it ends up being just a bad night, i know tony has a lot of those :P

I know, it was just a bad night. But I meant it when I said that everytime I meet head to head with an opponent they seem to have this almost magical ability to nail me first. Not always, but to the point that I've become concerned about it.

On BF1 I could drill just about anyone, but I BF2, I just can't seem to hit the broadside of a barn. Yes, I know that everyone sooner or later in a game is going to get drilled. No matter how good you think you are, there's someone out there better.

But DAMN, here lately I can't seem to get a break. I actually signed on BFMC2 with Sithwarden to get my rank back up from that whole teamkilla fiasco I went through, and instead of getting my rank back up, I actually DROPPED a rank because of my suckage. :x lol.

My Gawd, do these guys play these damn games 24/7 to get that damn good?. When I was online on RFOM, my Girlfriend was laughing because I was geting pwned hard. I'd see someone, open fire at damn near point blank range unleashing my ammo in their face, only to get killed by them in one shot!!!???!!!. :? Huh?

Even she remarked that it didn't make sense, since as of yet, there is no way to cheat on the PS3, Codebreakers and Gamesharks don't work on it.

            Yet.

On BFMC I did get some good kills, but still came in bottom of the list. I think the highest I got in game was 7th place.

To me it was just frustrating to keep getting owned no matter what game I was on, so I was just venting.

Give it time, sadly eventully a codebreaker, gameshark or way to hack the ps3 will come around, its the fate of all systems.

The way I see it is if anyone has to use a cheat, glitch, or even team kill, can't play the game at all. I mean where's the fun in a challenge of getting killed, killing the other team, or just plain having fun?. I tried a hero editor with diablo 2 ,and it wasn't fun. So now I just play the games we have, wether it be on pc or ps2, with no cheats on whatsoever. But like Deslock, online with bfmc2, at point blank range, I would empty my clip and the other player would still be standing.

One shot with a shotgun and I was a greasy spot on the ground. But like a lot of us we have lives outside the world of video games. I even let my son try the jedi server a few nights ago, and he was attacking someone with a hero jedi and that other player didn't even die.

On BFMC2, I can't help but wonder how many people have figured out ways to possibly cheat at this game.

As I already said, I know that I suck at FPS's. But even I can get a lucky kill from time to time. But as I'm playing, I'm also watching the kills stats that pop up on the screen. I'm trying my best to get kills, and keep getting pwned. But these other guys just waltz through killing everyone they come up against. 53 kills/one death on one BFMC2 game I find suspect from anyone.

When on backstab at CP4, when at point blank range I fire with a "special op's" kit and no damage is done, and they kill me with a knife, Something is up. I'm bad, but I'm not that bad.

Which makes me wonder what's up. Some nights my rank shoots right up there, and on others I lose rank because of loss of points. I can't be that good one night, and totally suck on another, it just doesn't make sense.

There usually is an average, or at least a balance over time and stats.
