    Real sorry to hear that.

    My Grandma is also about to pass. She has been hospitalized recently for severe blood problems, and I went to visit her in the hospital over last weekend. But now just the other day she was finally diagnosed with an advanced leukemia. She isn't making blood anymore. And its not really possible to treat leukemia in people over 50 because the bone-marrow transplant process is too harsh and unsurvivable. So she's at home now, in a bed by the window where she can see her hummingbird feeders, hear the palm fronds swishing in the wind, and watch her flower garden grow. I got her a seed nursury and she started a whole bunch of flowers from seeds before she went ill. She probably has a few days or a few weeks left now. But at least her passing will be with her family and in a comfortable place.

              Sithwarden's Grandmother passed away into the next life. He will gone for a bit. God grant him peace of mind and spirit during this sad time.

              Eagleone, so very sorry to hear of the loss of your son. My Grandmother on my father's side had the very bad luck to have to bury every one of her sons before she herself passed away. I cannot fathom that amount of pain, to lay your own offspring to rest before you.

              We may be a gaming community, but we are also a group of friends. Your pain is our pain. God bless you all, and may we all see all of of our loved ones when we cross the rainbow bridge.

              I have developed over time a condition where my heart may stop at any time, without warning. It has placed me in critical condition several times.

              I promise you, there is nothing more that can help you realise what is truly important to you while you live. I never know from one day to the next, what day will be my last one above ground.

              Take time to tell those that you care about that you love them. Family, friends, it doesn't matter. Let them know. Let them know now.

              As I've personally learned, no one on their death bed ever said:

              "I wish I could've spent more time at work."
              Take time to watch the sunsets. Life is never too short to show those that you love that you care about them.

              Gone is gone, at least untill we all move on and meet again.

              My perspective is just my own. But I've laid there in a hospital bed, and had the nurse there tell me that it wouldn't hurt to make my peace with God, after I asked her honestly if I would make it, and to tell me truthfully.

              Open your eyes. Don't be afraid to tell those people in your life that you truly love them. Male or female, let them know.

              You only have a few chances to let them know. Do it now. No regrets.

                My Grandma passed away yesterday. She was a good woman and loved us all very much. She was with my parents, aunt and uncle, and she was not in pain. They said that she couldn't talk much for the last few days and it was sad to see her fading. It was probably harder on my parents than her. I heard that she got good morphine. But now it is done and she has passed. Now she is with Grandpa and at peace.

                Now I have no longer any living grandparents. I haven't been too close to much death in my life yet. I have been lucky I guess. I have a bit broader view of life than some. My family is the human race and I try to have compassion for all beings.

                There is this thing that I used to have on my wall, but it disappeared a while ago: Max Ehrmanns Desiderata. A good read when contemplating what I am doing here on this world:

                Desiderata

                Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
                and remember what peace there may be in silence.
                As far as possible without surrender
                be on good terms with all persons.
                Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
                and listen to others,
                even the dull and the ignorant;
                they too have their story.

                Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
                they are vexations to the spirit.
                If you compare yourself with others,
                you may become vain and bitter;
                for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
                Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

                Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
                it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
                Exercise caution in your business affairs;
                for the world is full of trickery.
                But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
                many persons strive for high ideals;
                and everywhere life is full of heroism.

                Be yourself.
                Especially, do not feign affection.
                Neither be cynical about love;
                for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
                it is as perennial as the grass.

                Take kindly the counsel of the years,
                gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
                Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
                But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
                Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
                Beyond a wholesome discipline,
                be gentle with yourself.

                You are a child of the universe,
                no less than the trees and the stars;
                you have a right to be here.
                And whether or not it is clear to you,
                no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

                Therefore be at peace with God,
                whatever you conceive Him to be,
                and whatever your labors and aspirations,
                in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

                With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
                it is still a beautiful world.
                Be cheerful.
                Strive to be happy.
