I can't really think of a time where a game based on a movie was good, but the movie sucked. There have been movies based on games that have sucked, but whenever a game is intended to capture the buzz around a movie, the game tends to suck. There have been some games that were good based on movies, but very few.

So this would be par for the course.

Actually---I heard the Chronicles of Riddick was a decent game, but the movie sucked, so there is one example.

Kind of like Star Wars and Marvel here. You have the most awesome concept and cast of characters yet all the games that come out based on them suck, or are average at best. Star Wars has been getting better, but man there have been some stinkers out there.

Wow, i liked the movie and everyone I know that saw it liked it or thought it was decent. Game could use some work, but I still bought it.

The game is aimed towards younger kids, so you've got to remember that when playing it. I thought it was reasonably fun, pretty good graphics and movement. I still think they should have left Megatron as the Walther P38 pistol though.

Transformers - the movie

yeah man, I couldn't figure Megatron out in the movie. I know he was supposed to be a pistol, was it a Walther? I was a kid then and didn't know my pistols. I never could understand how Megatron, who was so big, transformed into a little pistol. it was totally disproportional you know. Just what the hell was Megatron supposed to be anyway, he never really tranformed in the movie did he?

Second favorite quote from the movie "to imprison and enslave" (on the cop car parked to pick up 'minibox' (?) when Air Force One sets down)

My favorite quote though was for sure "You have failed me yet again Starscream!" Starscream was always nothing more than a punk-ass failure in Transformer life, he undoubtedly earned his reprimand.

Because he is such a conniving, backstabbing, arrogant, ambitious S.O.B.
He tries so hard to take over Megatron's position of the Decepticons, yet he always manages to shoot himself in the foot.:p

actually, its "to punish and enslave" on the cop car.. and megatron DID transform... into the "Cybertronian" jet...
and i picked up the SICKEST shirt at hot topic.. its actually the barricade shield, the one with the latin, decepticon symbol and "to Punish and enslave" underneath... MUHAHAHHAA

Cop cars are bad ass, I have a 2002 CVPI (Crown Victoria Police Interceptor) and this car can haul ass. But the best part is that when other people see you they either slow down or change lanes because they think it's the law coming for their ass. I've scared the crap out of my non-law biding co-workers (folkes from south of the border) on accident.

Shockwave was the **** lol. He came out first before there even was Transformers. The whole reason the cartoons didn't keep to any laws of physics or anything was because they were promoting a toy. Thats why Megatron was a jet in the movie, to keep that "realistic" feel to it (and I think he was a jet in one of the later series) That's why the little guy was Frenzy and not Soundwave that transformed into the radio.

Anyway I am already ready for part 2 :D

The game certainly satisfied my need of destructable environments and was fun overall though it could have been better. After seeing the movie I found it funny how Starscream had to return to cybertron to break the news to the other decepticons, I could imagine how it went:

Decepticons: "so how did it go?"
Starscream: "well...we got our @$$es handed to us"
Decepticons: "nothing that were not used to but as long as Megatron is with us we have a chance"
Starscream: "yeah about that..."

Starscream was awesome though and Megatron's cybertronian jet form was really something. Great movie and as stated Shockwave OWNS!!!
