    Olde skool DSA

For those few of us still around that remember what used to play when ya logged on to the site.:

I guess what bothers me the most, besides finding out that the baddest sonuvabitch in the galaxy was a huge whiner like his son, was the fact that Lucas totally destroyed the mystery of the galaxy's best bounty hunter.

A faceless, merciless, badass that always got his mark. And refused work from the rebels, because he considered them terrorist traitor scum.

The dead voice without compassion. If he was on you, you were as good as dead. Like the brave Stormtroopers, you couldn't trick him, and due to his code of honor and ethics (due to the pre-prequels version of him being a former policeman) he couldn't, and wouldn't, be bribed to let you go.

And like the idea of the Force being mythic power source that anyone could tap into, Lucas fouled it up. Yep.

We had the unpleasant experience to find out that the galaxy's ultimate bounty hunter that you could NEVER escape from......

    Was just a stupid clone.

Who died a rather stupid lame death like his original.

People liked the mystery. That this tortured former policeman devoted his life to hunting down criminal scum, and making them pay no matter the cost, or time involved.

But George just had to screw it up.

    Thanks George..

All in the name of marketing my friend. Quite the shame.:( Hopefully we will have a better emoticon to express my disappointment in the future. Can't blame MC Chris, he only give props to Boba Fett (sp?) "cuz it's long long ago and a pussy far far" how could you blame the guy? ;P

Depends on what story you go with Kamui I think. I admit the only Star Wars book I have read was Bounty Hunters. It was stories of all the bounty hunters put together, and Boba did escape but was near death when he got out, and according to that story it was Dengar who found him.

it was my understanding Boba did escape.. it cost him his armor (like he cant afford a new set) and he died of old age... lame, but better then getting yer head cut off

I agree Des, the enigma that WAS Boba Fett was ruined when he received an "actual" origin. Being an un-altered clone is a far cry from "Journey-man Jaster Mereel" The thing that was soooo cool about Boba Fett was that you knew nothing about the guy and he made your mind come up with all sorts of possibilities. How else does a character with 2 lines and 15 min of toatl movie time became such a huge fan favorite.

According to Lucas, he killed the character off in the Sarlaac Pit. As he put it, fans and authors would not let it go so they wrote him an escape. Which in the novel R-diggity mentioned, he did lose his armor and was in very bad shape physically due to the digestive juices of the Sarlaac eating through his Mandalorian armor and skin. He did obtain more armor somehow, got to at least the Slave-4. I have not read about his death, the latest novel saga has him making an appearence in Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines as a 70 year old. He has remained a fan favorite despite his origin.

Some notes: His first appearence was Nov. 17 1978 on the animated Star Wars: Holiday Special. (I believe Zabka found a link or copy of it he had or something)

He was often mimicked, or had his name used by other Bounty Hunters trying to make an extra credit or two on his reputaion. Jodo Kast being the most successful mimc of the famed Bounty Hunter.

Tales from the Bounty Hunters and The Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy are good reads for any Boba Fett or other BH fans.

"Beefcake the Mighty, clotted with spew. His sword falls, skulls burst in two. The eyes burst from sockets, he is not through. Thousands of warriors he does this to. Piling the corpses of those that he slew. Untill it was hard to tell if the pile grew!"-GWAR

One of friends told me this in the Star Wars Chatroom, from when it used to be a cool place to hang out:

"At this stage I believe I now understand the truth. Which is that Lucas has gone over to the dark side. He is a Darth Billionaire ruling an empire, and is no longer leading a rebellion. He was once a semi-independent force, overshadowed by a dark and powerful business, but still managed to beat the odds and on his own terms, but now he sits on a throne with lightning in his hands and a franchise in his clenched fist."
And as much as I hate to admit it, he's right.

He is a good producer, but a horrible director, and even worse as a writer.

"I thought we'd agreed on not to fall in love?"
                WTF!!!???

Who the Hell talks like that...? Either ya fall in love, or ya don't. It's not an agreement. That line actually made me cringe the first time I heard it.

Giving Vader a wonderfully castrating name like "Ani". Even if it's supposed to be short for "Anakin", to the public, it sounds like "Annie".

Yep. Nothing to scary or intimidating for a soon to be an ultimate badass being named "Susie".

                WTF!!!???.

                Jar Jar.

I can't even say anything about that horror of a creation. At least Lucas learned quickly from that mistake. Notice that in the last two prequels, That monstrosity wasn't seen very much? There's a reason for that. Even though George though it would be cute for the kids, it completely backfired with the hardcore fans. I want my poop and fart jokes on Southpark, not Star Wars. Same with the whole stupid "Midichlorian" thing. Notice that after the first prequel, they're never mentioned again?.

Good Lord, it's okay to tell a story, but for goodness sake leave some of the mystery, and give rise to people's imaginations. In a good story, you don't have to explain everything.

                Know when to stop.

                Please.

I guess these guys at ILM are getting such well paid influential jobs, that no one is willing to honestly come up to GL and tell him:

"George, maybe that's not such a good idea. Actually, that's kind of stupid."

Boba Escaped from the Sarlacc with the help of Susejo the first victim who consciousness merged with the sarlacc, he helped him get his jet pack(He did some of his armor). Fett continued to bounty hunt for years, he went through several ships until he discovered he was dying due to clone degeneration sometime around 40 ABY(1834 AD{0 ABY = 1794 AD}), he continues to search for a way to cheat death, he found he needed a bone marrow transplant, and he got it from another clone the had found a way to halt the aging process, and is still alive in canon.

He was an unaltered clone, so he aged normally.
                  Although the degeneration was inevitable.

I'm a simple man making his way through the galaxy. Like my father before me.Boba Fett Boba Fett was a human male crime lord and former bounty hunter whose career spanned decades, from the fall of the Galactic Republic to the end of the rule of the Galactic Empire. Originally code-named Alpha, he was an unaltered clone of the famed Mandalorian bounty hunter, Jango Fett, who raised the boy as his son. Boba emulated his father and genetic donor by wearing a customized suit of Mandalorian armor. Hi
