GOOD, I'm glad, I'm sick of all the idiots on ESPN defending him.
"he hasn't been found guilty of anything." "He has only been indited and is innocent in the court until found proven guilty."
Well dipshits, you need to do your investigating.
I guess he finally came to his senses that he was in a lose/lose situation with the other guys testifing against him.sigpicComment

well, the falcons will likely sue to get pro-rated signing bonus back from him for not fulfilling his contract. NFL will likely suspend him beyond jail time. John Clayton is predicting Arena league for him since Canadians won't want a convict--there was a lot of flack for Ricky Williams, and all he did was smoke herb, not murder animals. You're the best! First of all, he was innocent until proven guilty. Although it seemed incredibly unlikely that he was innocent, he was. And as far as I know, very few people were defending him. ESPN always says, "but let's wait and see what happens," because you have to cover your ass in broadcasting. And the people who know what they're talking about on ESPN (like Roger Cossak and Chris Mortensen) have been saying all along that Vick would not get away easily.
Secondly, the judge in this case is the Ratix of Virginia. :emperor:
He has been known to "ruin the courtroom with his anger," so I highly doubt Vick is going to get an exception.
And what's rumored is that Vick voided the contract with this whole thing, I'm pretty sure the Falcons won't get the cap hit. I'm also thinking Vick will be banned from the NFL with a chance to be reinstated a year after his crime. It's all heresay right now as Goodell won't say anything until the sentencing, which is sometime next week.
And the few people I trust on ESPN are very few. Basically it's Mort, Clayton, Olney and Gammons who I listen to. Don't ask me how anyone else there got their jobs.
I also like how the Judge's name is Henry Hudson (the Navigator who discovered the River) and Vick's attorney is Billy Martin (of New York Yankees fame).Last edited by captnjeter; 08-20-2007, 05:44 PM."You gotta have fun. Alright Jeter I do agree with you. he is innocent till proven guilty. I'm still the only white guy that believes OJ's innocence. In that respect if the man passed the court system he shouldn't be tried upon by the public.
Anyways, this was different than OJ cause I saw all the tapes of this abuse and witnesses were on ESPN testifying to the scandal without revealing identities. But let me say the ones that were defending him was based purely on race. And those people were the ones getting angry if you made any sort of accusations on Vick being guilty.sigpicComment

All I can say is that Vick has very little shot of becoming the Hall of Fame QB we all expected when he came out. He'll probably be out of the NFL for the next two years, and if an when he comes back, it is going to be very hard to find any NFL team that wants him. Maybe a team out of desperation will invite him to camp, but two years of not playing will kill any chances of him being exceptionally great."You gotta have fun. Vick's performance in that national championship game vs FSU was still one of the most amazing one man performances ever--until Vince Young's. Of course Vick also showed some of that ability in an OT game against my beloved Vikes where he made the entire D look like chumps on one play. He always seemed like a nice guy in everything I read about him--not from a great neighborhood, was not highly touted coming out of high school. At the time Ronald Curry was the best high school QB in the country and he was at a rival high school--he's a receiver for the Raiders now. I am not sure if their years crossed paths, but even Allen Iverson was a more highly touted high school QB than Vick was coming out of Newport News. Too bad he was involved in something so horrendous as this. But that being said, I find it interesting how much we ignore so many transgressions from athletes that should also raise our ire: all the spousal abuse, drunk driving, etc barely gets any press, but dogfighting becomes a national story. Dogfighting is incredibly cruel and worthy of jail time, but I'd also like to see some of those roid monsters get time for slapping their wives around. Jay Novacek of the Cowboys used to beat his wife and broke her jaw. You never heard a thing about it. She left him and resorted to "adult entertainment" which is how some of my shadier friends were able to relay this to me.
We've had a fair number of high profile players come out of Southeastern VA--an area without the population density of many areas and without the year round football weather of FL, CA, and TX. Started with Kenny Easley, went to Bruce Smith, DJ Dozier (bit of a bust in the NFL), Matt Darby (Bills safety during all those futile Superbowls), Terry Kirby, Vick, Plexico Burress, and now watch out for Percy Harvin playmaker for national champs UF as a freshman.Last edited by Zabka; 08-21-2007, 01:19 PM.You're the best!
