It was...but they went to PS3 and PC launch first, and it is expected to be 360, but in 08 to avoid the Halo3 juggernaut. But at this point, it is hard to tell whether such games will remain exclusives or not since we don't know how much development work is being done on the later launch consoles.
360 or PS3?

UT3 will probably end up for just PS3 and PC since most of the PC community will end up making mappacks for the game and alot of people will be attracted to that.
UT2004 and UT2003 were popular for the large modding community for mappacks.<a href="http://s11.photobucket.com/user/dsaBOSS/media/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a178/dsaBOSS/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png" border="0" alt=" photo mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png"/></a><a href="http://psnprofiles.com/XxkamuixX1"><img src="http://card.psnprofiles.com/1/XxkamuixX1.png" border="0"></a>Comment

the modded maps will be made available on the PS3 for download. There is no reason that they couldn't do it for the 360 as well. You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

I've seen in a number of places that it will be originally launching for PS3 and PC, but will be released for 360 early next year. Sort of like what used to happen with the GTA series.

Lots wrong with the above post. Issues have all been hashed out before. But just for clarification:
2. Hosting a room doesn't cost anything, it is a way to allow you to have a person have "server manager" capabilities to boot idiots without the vote structure which never works right; and some games don't use the host structure)
your XBL payment ;) This way, you and your friends can play together on
a server "you" have created, and payed for via your XBL account.
Can you play "any" Microsoft titles? because that's also what they promised,
that you could play "any" Microsoft PC titles via console upgrades.
Granted, you have to create a room on R6LV via the PS3, but you don't
have to pay Sony any fees to do so.
You've already paid $50 - $60 for a game, why hand out more money to
"play" the game online?

$4 is a cup of coffee at Starbucks. The ease with which you can gather friends for games setup to your specifications, communicate with others playing other games, send invites, join, etc is worth a cup of coffee to me. If it isn't to somebody else, that's their own choice. You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

I understand what you're saying.
I just don't believe in "paying" to play a game I just payed for.
That's why I didn't get into WoW or SW Galaxies, because you
have to pay to play.
They have already gotten your money ... why give them more?
Also, like I stated prior, they "hyped" that you will be able to play
pc titles on the Xbox ... did that ever happen?sigpicComment

I recall none of that hype. I never did any PC gaming, so I don't know. I don't recall anyone I know choosing the 360 for this feature which I never heard of---I would hardly call it "hype" as a result. If you can find an ad from launch that promoted this capability, then clearly I am wrong. The hype was around LIVE and next gen capabilities. On those fronts they have delivered. They have failed on hardware dependability, but they have taken steps to rectify that.
They did say that there would be cross platform PC/360 games. Of which there is currently one and others expected. Backwards compatibility means little to me since I never play old games again. However, it does mean a lot to others.
The 80 gig PS3s no longer have the PS2 chipset that made things backwards compatible. Now they are going the 360 route with an emulator. So it's the same situation unless you have a 60 gig PS3.
Stryder--the fanboy arguments have exhausted themselves out here. We are finally at a point where fully rational discussion on the pros and cons of the consoles have replaced each person's need to justify their own purchasing decision. Clearly the two systems have their positives and negatives.
The thing to note, is that DSA was a PS2 only clan with several members having migrated to the 360. I don't think any of us could be considered xbox fanboys. Many of us just realized that it was going to take time for the PS3 to be what it could be---and the 360 offered us something sooner.
If you don't want to pay $4 a month, that's your perogative. As for why do it? The reasons are there---they just may not be compelling to some people. For everyone who does do it, I haven't heard anybody feel that it isn't worth it.You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

I'm not trying to .... ... and I'm also not "justifying my purchase
decision. I purchased the Sony products because they did not "make"
promises they could not fufill, and, so far so good with no problems,
or dissapointments on my end.
My best friend has an X-Box 360, and all he plays is Halo, off line, and
Madden. There are no other titles he wanted, even though I sent him
list after list of other games. I also told him to get online, but, same thing ..
why "pay" to play games you purchased.
When I purchased my PS3, I "gave" him my network adapter for his PS2,
so he can play his PS2 titles online ... at no charge.
The "speculation" was not on the 360 compatability, it was on the "original"
X-box, stating that you would be able to play PC games on your X-Box via
XBL updates. These "statements" were made prior to the release of
the X-Box, when it was just that, in the shape of an "X",
because it is a Microsoft product, and will run off of Windows.
Also, stating "The last console ..." was a bit "unbelievable" if you think about it.
Four dollars a month is like change to me, but, like I said, "my beliefs", why
shuck out more ducketts for a game you just bought so you can play it.sigpicComment

Sounds like your friend overpaid for a machine to play Halo offline. You can play Madden on the PS2. No point in getting the 360 if you aren't getting the games for it or, more importantly, going online. If somebody doesn't plan on getting online with it, then I TOTALLY don't endorse the 360 as that is what is best about it---Xbox Live.
Why get a new console if you aren't going to play the games for it?
But to your point about prior promises of consoles...I think I do recall that being something that was claimed as potential. I don't know--I got an xbox as a gift, played halo2 on it, and that's it. never appealed to me enough. At the same time--you can research the earlier claims on the PS2 as well---Sony claimed that it would become the center of the home entertainment system. They have done a better job of that with the PS3 for sure, but those claims for the PS2 (and the PSX) were certainly no less faulty a claim. The point being: these companies will all lie to you with fantastic claims about their machines.Last edited by Zabka; 09-13-2007, 01:36 PM.You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

I played the demo for that game at my friends who has the HD rig and everything. I played it and it's beutifull!!! But I believe that's a cutscene on the commercial. The way it played and the cool mini game it had (you had to run down these ropes holding up a giant pillar to a cavernous wall, hitting the proper buttons to leap the rope and slide down to a horde of enemies. Great presentation!!) made it feel like Goddes of War.
But yeah its pretty.
"Beefcake the Mighty, clotted with spew. His sword falls, skulls burst in two. The eyes burst from sockets, he is not through. Thousands of warriors he does this to. Piling the corpses of those that he slew. Untill it was hard to tell if the pile grew!"-GWARComment
