A few weeks ago a very good friend of mine approached me about helping him with a charity event for St. Judes childrens hospital. He is a member of the Star garrison of the 501st legion, he generally troops as a sandtrooper though he recently aquired a 501st clone commander suit. In case you're wondering why he would ask me to help him I have an almost complete ( it's actually complete the belt just needs some more work ) Episode 3 vader suit. So last night after I got off work I headed to the local Chilli's Restaruant to suit up. I actually had a blast and we raised about $300 for the charity. I saw alot of amazing suits last night. We had 3 tk's, 1 501st clone, 1 Imperial Gaurd, 1 Biker Scout, 1 Gamorrian (SP?) Guard, a tuscan raider, a Chewbacca, and of course yours truly. We got alot of attention, took tons of pictures and got to meet a lot of great people. Like I said, I really had a blast and I think it's a great thing that these guys go out and do this stuff. I know that there are a few 501st members on here and I would just like to salute you for the work that you put into this. I honestly never knew how tough it was to go through one of these events and I know that I was only in costume for 3 hours but I realized then just how tough it really is.
Just so you guys know I am not an official member of the 501st, I just helped the garrison out last night, though after it's all said and done I may finish up my suit and apply.
