We all knew it'd happen sometime or another

barry bonds is now being put trial on 5 charges of using illigal performance inhancements.....if he's convicted he could face up to 30 years in prison

now to me this is just funny cuz he got all these warnings from everyone not to use these and/or not to continue using them...but of course he wanted the glory and got caught

i wonder if Hank Aaron will regain his crown as Home Run King

First I'm glad to see he's been caught....... I hate cheaters

Secondly, no ****in wonder the States has an overcrowding issue with their prison pop. 30 years?????? With myself having a background in law, that is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

Good thing that asterisk is branded in the ball!

I think it's funny however, how baseball players get ostricized, while Shawn Merriman of the chargers gets caught for roids, he miss's 4 games then gets to go to the pro bowl.

That's why I think everyone should be as roided up as possible, then everyone will be on the same tainted level of play.

we all knew it would happen

remember what steroids did to chris benoit ,made him go nuts , i mean there i think a lot of kids that looked to all these stars no matter what sport, and they get accused or charged with using as they call it, performance enhancing drugs,i feel barry should get the max he deserves

I don't believe roids was totally to blame for the Benoit ordeal. I think a lot of concussions and head trauma was a factor as well. There still needs to be more research into long term effects of head traumas, especially for those that take repeated shots to the head. Regardless, if they are going to ban it, then ban it completely and totally. Make the punishment harsh, and if a player gets caught and they do get a suspension, make sure they are not eligible for things like the Pro Bowl, All Stars, or MVP awards. If all of these sports are going to continually pussyfoot around with the players, then just make it ok for them and like Tony said, get everyone juiced so it will be balanced.

i don't think bonds has actually been caught/convicted of anything yet. however, if he is caught/convicted and the timeline of the use violated baseball policy, his record will be worthless/stripped.

I guess there is no statute of limitations on that stuff? I mean he is being charged from statements he made in 2003, or were they almost up and thats why they are just now jumping on him?

They wouldn't indict him if they didn't think they had the evidence.I mean they've been gathering it for 4 years now. Someone told me, or I heard it on the radio, but %90 of all federal indictments become convictions.

Also, Greg Anderson conviently got released from prison the day of the indictment. I think he got fed up of sitting in jail covering Barroid's needle injected ass. I mean c'mon his head grew like 1 1/2 inches for god's sake. That is not normal.

                  30 YEARS!!!!

For disillusioning the public and being unsporting? Sounds like a good old fashioned beat down would be more effective. The worst thing is he cheated himself out of a healthy old age. Isn't that punishment enough? Kick him out and let him regret it. Nothing sorrier than a story about a burned out candle.

Mark my words. Fox will air a mini series about him within the next 10 years with a little plucking of the heart strings near the end.

Whether people like him or not he is a celebrity. I highly doubt he will actually be convicted or put in prison. Remember our other special treatment celebs? O.J., M Jackson, Martha Stewart, Mel Gibson the list goes on and on.

Well I'm pretty sure the juice is not going to walk this time. I have a feeling he's going to get convicted, not because of his armed robbery, but because we let him off the hook last time.

If Bonds does at the most 5 years (which I doubt) I'll be happy. Charles Barkley said it best on the Jim Rome show though :"Rich people do not go to jail"

He'll probobly get the Martha Stewart 6 months resort deal if he gets convicted.

If A-Rod stays healthy, the record is gonna go to him either way.
