Just so you're fully aware so are the Three Stooges. Damn putz's

I always like to share my story whenever these threads come up to.

I started as a jedi only guy. It was my first online game and I thought it was hilarious that I could force choke ACTUAL ppl. I finally got a mic after playing without in DSA Jedi for almost a month. I decided I actually wanted to talk to these ppl. First guy actually on my friends list and the first to use teamwork (without mics btw) was the bastard you all know now as Taco.

Now I had registered on this site before, so I knew who certain ppl were. One night Jeter and Ratix, wandered into the server. Both picking hero's and beginning to work together quite well. I picked on them both simply because I wanted to make an impression. I remember Jeter being somewhat displeased with my attacks and I know Ratix was none to happy either, lol.

I had never really considered joining the clan and didn't really know much about it. Until one night hanging in Jedi, I got the chance to meet Frell. Apparently this was a rare treat because not only did he dislike Jedi, but he was nearly inactive with DSA altogether. After protecting his ass for an hour or so lol, he told me to ask for a tryout.

When I signed up, I too quickly realized Jedi wasn't this clans game at the time. I needed to learn to play conquest and friggin quick. A couple of nights before my tryout, I apparently ran into Devilsfan, I guess making an impression. When Comp passed my tryout and sent me to squad 2, Devils fought like hell to get me and my nasty engineer, for his new idea of "fireteams" on squad one.

Now that I think about it, it seems so long ago. Can't imagine what gaming would be like without DSA.

I got to learn a lot from ppl like Ratix, Kerry, Des, Zab, and Comp. I've got to pass that along to Taco and norm (this might actually not be such a good thing lol). It truly shows how close this group is when you reminisce about the past.

Tomahawk is a prime example of how the DSA operates, and how giving the best you can, and trying to help others, can quickly move you up the ranks.

After meeting Tomahawk in the Jedi server, he was good. As in he was VERY good. Not just in skill, but I watched him on spectate mode, and was impressed with how quickly he not only killed others, but how fast he was to go to the defense of his fellow teamates. I decided to mentor him, and another DSA member. They listened to my advice, and quickly shot up to the High Council, one of the most honored positions you can earn in the Clan.

I've always liked the idea of a mentoring program. To pick out a new member, to teach them, instruct them, and help them grow and meet their true potential. Now Tomahawk is passing on what he has learned trough experience, another reason why this clan is still the strongest out there.

Just take a quick moment, and think to yourself about what you can do to help the DSA. It doesn't have to be a big thing, maybe just a bit of small things. And it does add up, and help us as an entire group.

I remember when I first joined in April 2005. SWBF was THE reason I purchased a PS2 and played it tons offline before joining. That's probably how I got so good... at killing the AI. But I joined after a few months of playing online. I was frustrated with the guys going against an AT-AT with a sniper, children singing and those pesky "." teamkillers that NOBODY booted. So I signed up for a tryout. The first few DSA were Frell, Derek and Coor. I passed my tryout. Also trying out that night was Reaver (under the name Rebel) and grnlherpes, the one who told other clans he used to be in DSA, and then everyone here said "no way".

This was when tryouts were strict. You didn't hear anything, you didn't say anything unless you had to. I'm not sure how SWBF2 practices and tryouts go now, but it wouldn't be too crazy for me to say that it doesn't compare. I played well during my tryout, put up numbers that were normal for me, which were decent. I thought it was completely up in the air. Luckily, I passed, and Reaver passed a week later, which was good.

Since then, I've seen many players come up. I remember Shoot's tryout (when people actually called him Shootordie). Shoot and I then headed the Day Crew during 2005, owning any teamkiller or other dick (dung galist) that entered the room.

I saw the DSA transition from SWBF1 to 2, a transition that for all the hype it had, did not live up to it's billing, thanks to Lucas Arts. Despite this, there are still tons of memories from SWBF2 games.

I think I remember Tomahawk's first experience with DSA. Ratix and I kicked so many people out of the Jedi room that night, it was awesome.

I remember when Norm was just a TK and I remember him in the DSA Battle Royal II.

As Deslock mentioned, when the DSA was on one system and one game, those were great times. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday you could count on there being a room filled with 20 (sometimes more) DSA members. If you thought a busy night of Call of Duty 4 was big, you should have seen some numbers for SWBF1 practices, when you could have 32 players. I think we maxed out on 26 or 28 once or twice. And THEN add on the 32 AI... boy was it fun.
"You gotta have fun. Regardless of how you look at it, we're playing a game. It's a business, it's our job, but I don't think you can do well unless you're having fun." - Derek Jeter

Wow, this thread sure makes me pine for the good old days of everyone on the same game on the same system. One that didn't break every month or two.

My start came with a friend suggesting BF1 and my subsequent participation in the LA forums where a ran across a thread about a new clan being formed. I joined DSA half interested in gameplay and half in helping with the site. That being said, my fondest memories are not of spending hours on AIM helping Ratix figure out why the site is broken, but of gameplay with some of the most entertaining and effective BF1 soldiers around. Somewhere in the depths of my memory I can still see flashes of epic battles on Hoth, death defying raids on the Cantina, and Ratix yelling at ppl to "get the f**k back here with that AT-AT".

So now we sit in the back of the bus driven by Ratix. He might not be able to read a map but he sure can drive and hasn't steered us off course in the last 3½ years. People have come and gone, some that should have and some that shouldn't (I honestly think Zab pushed them out the "emergency exit" ;p ). In the end, I am always astonished remembering what DSA was and what it has become.

We have truly become a community and my gratitude goes out to all who have participated and made DSA what it is today.

Well here is what I know about the DSA. I started playing SWBF1 in the PR server. I loved that server and the god awful battles on the docks. Something about the sniper battles while dodging AT-ST fire was so much fun. I got SWBF2 a while after it had been out and the only name I saw from SWBF1 was DSA so I started playing in there. Unlike Tomahawk I stayed out of Jedi for the most part and played in the .com server. I got to play with the infamous Ice Queen, DH, Spock, and Tony. I had fun playing with those guys and it always seemed I was on opposite sides from the DSA. Thankfully I had Phoenix, Sig, Dioxin, Rico, Mace and Tripp usually on my side. It was nice watching team work from the other side, seeing these other guys get recruited and hearing some of the DSA talk to each other. That was something completely different then what I heard in other servers. I can't tell you how many times in other servers our side lost but yet we had that one guy on our side bragging about having the most kills. Finally I came to my senses and joined up with the DSA and have fun ever since then.

A long long time ago about 7 days or so, a group of fierce warriors banded together to combat a horrible plague that was spreading across the nation. These brave men came from many parts of the country to help fight and contain this outbreak. It had been dark times through out the land and for many it had been hell defending themselves from the onslaught. For those poor souls were being crushed and it seemed there was no light at the end of the tunnel except the sweet lullaby of death.Yet, hope still lingered in the air, voices could be heard whispering, asking for a miracle, "Is there no one who can aid us in our struggle against the forces of destruction".

Perhaps fate had long ago taken it's course, for this band of soldiers had been trained in the art of war. Life it seems had made these combatants fine instruments of warfare. Many owe their lives to these few who stood against many, especially the plague which were branded the Rainbow Brights. Epic battles have come and gone but none were greater than this one.

The Crew with Small Putz's, which was comprised of DSA EagleOne, DSA Muncher and DSA Majintony, had taken it upon themselves to bring this group of vandals to their knees. Each in their own right were excellent and intense fighters, but together were an unstoppable force as if god himself had descended from the heavens with bolts of lighting to punish those with great vengeance and furious anger.
Much is not known about the Crew with Small Putz's except those that have stood in their way have met a fate worse than incurring the Terror of the Terrorists. These men are artist only that their art is death and they have painted many masterpieces. The list of lives they've broken reach from here to hell.

After many, many confrontations the scum had been put down and a feeling of relief could be felt through out. In spite this apparent victory, there is still work to be done. The threat continues only not as strong as in the beginning. Let it be known to all who wander their eyes upon these few lines of text specifically the god-forsaken Rainbow Brights:

You pray we don't look at you, we pray we don't look down

The first DSA I can remember meeting was Comp on the Dot.com server. While i'm not really a chatter person I really liked his sportsmanship and he gave me a hell of a fight!
I remember hearing about the DSA back in SWBF1 in one of those days I was playing in one of those CLASSICxx-BiG rooms.Someone was like "Whos the leader of DSA?",Somebody said"Ratix" and from there knowing about the clan would never escape me until I joined up eventually.
I think some of our best days would be from the Monthly Squad Scrimmage which happened during the 2006-2007 time period. It was an honor to fight for Tomahawk,Reaver,Norm and Taco; Those guys were great commanders for Squad 1 and I see potential leadership in a few others.
Back in SWBF1 I can hardly remember names since I was so pissed with college back then(2005) that I was more interested in blowing you away in the game than remembering your name. Now if I remember clearly I can vaguely remember facing Gino a few times back in the day during an old midnight brawl on SWBF1 and Shocker in Kamino as the CIS.(ouch).
