lol I think I posted something a long time ago asking about this and I don't remember any response.
"I know they were just kids, but we kicked their pube-less asses!" -
It was very small at first, but as time flew this clan grew bigger.DSA started off on Battlefront 1 and into Battlefrot 2 they saw many more people joining ,etc
I have only been here since 2006 and the DSA started around....2004 I believe. So I think the best people to tell you the history of the clan would be infact the members that were here when it started. Many have vanished, but they tend to come around once in awhile to grace their presence.<a href="http://s11.photobucket.com/user/dsaBOSS/media/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a178/dsaBOSS/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png" border="0" alt=" photo mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png"/></a><a href="http://psnprofiles.com/XxkamuixX1"><img src="http://card.psnprofiles.com/1/XxkamuixX1.png" border="0"></a>Comment

I joined DSA about a month or so after its founding. There have been posts about it where Ratix goes into his rationale for getting things going on DSA. I am sure he can post something here when he finds the time.
In terms of people who have been here for the longest time, Ratix, InLimbo, Me, Deslock, Corp, Andy Pants were all among the very first DSA. Others joined soon after, but we were in DSA after SWBF1 came out, but before x-mas of that year. A couple of guys who are on the PS3--not sure what names they go by now--were on around then as well, they were there at the start but got lost to WoW.
Maybe when I get some time (not any time soon), I will try to do a brief history with Ratix. But the gist of it was that Ratix wanted to start this clan. The original rules of joining the clan were wide open. Public servers were plentiful, but there was no matchmaking or buddy lists. So people would either post in a shout what room they were in or they would bounce around room to room trying to find a good match with people they knew. Very quickly this became a tired practice as there were too many chipmunks, too little teamwork, and too much teamkilling going on. So DSA set up its own servers (on Ratix's PC) to be able to control its own world. Very quickly DSA found the pleasure of a controlled environment without the nuisances of online gaming. As the clans got the SWBF1 world organized, however, DSA had a difference of opinion about how the game was intended to be played. Other clans either wanted no AI or a few AI on Medium. DSA wanted as many AI as possible set to hard. Why? Because the Star Wars battles were never 8 (4v4s) guys running or flying around a map capturing CPs by having to only kill one person. It wasn't about having a Rebel Vanguard with double rockets and being able to take out a quarter of the other team with one shot and take CPs no problem. It was about the chaos of battle as fire came from all directions, no class being too strong because at some point, the AI would either overwhelm you, you would run out of ammo, or they would just headshot you.
As a result, we kept doing things our way and other clans did things theirs. Since then, DSA has continued to do things their own way.
I can do more at some other point. Deslock can probably add some to it--but for as long as I have known him, his work schedule has made it hard to play with us often. There was a time we started doing Sat at 11pm practices to play some with him, but that was only a couple of times. You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

RaTix could probably tell you best. When I joined, the main people were RaTix, Andy, Fromunda, Thomas, and Frell. And your tryout was to join in a practice, and follow every order given you to a tee. I truly miss those days. Every DSA had the same system, and the same game, BF1. Even if you sucked, you didn't have any choice but to get better, because you were literally playing against the best BF1 players in the country.
It amazes me that I've seen so many of our rival clans dissapear into nothing.
But that was even though much time has passed, the leaders of the DSA has stood behind RaTix's core principles of online gaming. I was a well known freelancer on BF1. But I quickly became enraged, and tired, of all the tkr's, cheaters, glitchers, and the total, and I mean total lack of any form of teamwork whatsoever on the online servers.
So I gave some serious thoughts about joining a clan. I had had enough. Being military, I couldn't stand the lack of communication and teamwork to win.
I saw a post on another forum from Zabka about this great new Clan that followed orders, and had a strong military based on the Galactic Empire.
So I figured I'd check this new Clan out. So I attended one practice, and I was instantly hooked. People worked together, there was no meaningless chatter on the mic, and when the leaders gave orders, the soldiers instantly obeyed without question. I knew I had found a new home.
The maps were well known, and the orders were precise. "DSA So and so, take command of the AT-AT, and proceed to CP1. Destroy all opposition".
All you heard on the mic was "Yessir". and the named soldier instantly obeyed.
He did not question, he did not back talk. He did as he was told, and continued to his objective.
If he was killed, he re-spawned and continued to follow his last orders. You guys should be glad that RaTix has relaxed a bit. Back in those days, if you goofed around, or chattered meaninglessly on the Mic, you not only be instantly disciplined, you'd probably be kicked out. RaTix was THE Emperor, and Thomas was his enforcer. Period. The stuff that goes on now wouldn't be even tolerated back then.
Thomas didn't like some of the things that happened with the DSA, and as much as I liked and admired him for his commitment to discipline, in all truth I have to admit at times he could be a bit too harsh. So he left the DSA. But even though I agreed with much of what he thought, By that time time I knew I would be DSA until the very end, so I stayed here. RaTix through his wisdom, had earned the damn near impossible, he had earned my respect.
As far as I can tell, the only remaining members from the very begining are RaTix, Andypants, Zabka, and myself. Many things have changed from back then, but the true constant has been that people in the DSA are not given any rank or respect that they haven't earned. You are given rank, and promoted, because you earned it.
You may not think so, but the High Councilmen are always in communication with each other, and RaTix about the members of this clan. We know what you do online, and what you don't do. So you know that when you're given an award, or promotion, it was because someone was aware of you, and watching. As ominous as that sounds, it's not a bad thing. Like the real military, you get out of the DSA, exactly what you put into it.
If you join this clan, you know that if you try your best, are loyal, and give 100%, you will be noticed, and recognized for your efforts.
Why this Clan still exists after so many "All Stars" have come and gone, is because even though the leaders may come and go, as I said before, our core ideals stay the same. The DSA is a home for any true player that respects honor, fairplay, that cheating is horrible, and is not anything a true man would do. Which is why in a former thread why Zabka chastised some of our junior officers.
But for the real answers, you'd need RaTix to respond.
Deslock.

Deslock was a pretty fearsome pilot in that game. Most people preferred the Xwing over the Tie due to the greater armor and firepower, but Deslock had no problems owning with that Tie on Tatooine Dune Sea. The game had some horrible imbalances, but it was pretty awesome...and a great game for a clan like DSA.
Other clans that were around back then included RABiD (our first clan battle), JOT$ (all of whom left and formed two other clans--The Forgotten (TF) and BS (Black Sun Underground). A clan called Virtuoso Guild (VG) was formed that then broke off with a significant portion creating KO (don't know what it stands for) and then another splinter forming TPB (The Pirate Brethren), which has since splintered again. ARSE (don't remember what it stood for) was a big UK clan that had a small US presence. Kamui came from there, and another former DSA--Toast was part of that clan as well. Finally, CS--Correllian Smugglers are still around as well. Other clans did come up and some have stuck around for various games, but they weren't amongst the first. You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

Even when dealing with the Scrutiny from trolls of the LA forums the DSA stood strong.I went to the LA forums alot mainly just to talk with people about the game.(That didn't turn out well since we discovered that LA fails to hire moderaters LOL) ;since this would be the first time i've gone online with the PS2.
Prior I would already know about the Griefers of gaming(Starcraft, diablo 2,etc) so I was pretty much prepared for any insults that may have come my way.Since the US division of my old clan was dying and many were busy with ther RL issues I was all alone wearing a tag I didn't have to really wear, but I did. Then I found myself frequenting the DSA site starting with the SWBF2 petition to get LA to hear the SWBF2 community out(the petition didn't work out though.)
After that I roamed around for abit until I got the pm that I should join up from Zabka.I was really unsure at first since I hadn't really been into the clan stuff(Probably a shyness issue at first),but I just had a change of heart by May.So I took long to decide, but I joined up pretty much the same time a few others did(Christ).
This clan has seen many come and go,from the Weak-minded to the impatient.Being kicked for their attitude or their inability to respect a higher command.<a href="http://s11.photobucket.com/user/dsaBOSS/media/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a178/dsaBOSS/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png" border="0" alt=" photo mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png"/></a><a href="http://psnprofiles.com/XxkamuixX1"><img src="http://card.psnprofiles.com/1/XxkamuixX1.png" border="0"></a>Comment

I'm just joking. As Zabka said, we've seen many, many Clans come and go.
But if you're brave, please feel free to face me in a TIE in BF2.

Also, slightly off topic, but Zabka's post spurred my re-interest, Shocker didn't you say you were once apart of CS or BS before DSA?

Taken from an older post in the Stormtrooper barracks.
The most anticipated reply ever, The Emperor's credentials.
My first gaming clan was KOT360 (Knights of the Templar) on Age of Empires II. This going back about 7-8 years ago. The clan started to die down and a lot of ppl became inactive. Also a lot of ppl were unhappy with the leadership due to the lack of activeness.
I decided to split off with a few others and start my own clan XGK (Xtreme Gotham Knights), This was also a consideration for the now DSA name in the beginning.
The main leader of the KOT360 and myself were good friends (still are, he's reg'd on this site as Crono). So we decided to use the split up to start a war between our clans. Which worked well in getting those inactive back into activeness, as well as spurting recruitment in the XGK.
The XGK lasted for a yr or so I believe. Until interest died out for the game and ppl went off on their separate ways.
Then i got caught up in a text based mmorpg called Utopia. Fun but sucked your life away as every hour you were logging in to check on stuff. Eventually became the leader of the guild/clan/nation or whatever it was. Ended up taking on the Gotham Knights name once again. That lasted awhile.. soo many days wasted.
There was a brief period of XGK in Counter strike as well. Was mainly for fun and nothing too serious. Not that many ppl either, just a few friends from past clans.
My second in command (XGK_Wolf, still talk to him on occasion as well) from the AoEII XGK clan tried to re spark interest and started a clan up called r00t that I was briefly in. Just couldn't fully get back into the game.
Was also in 187MDK on Socom1 and 2. Pretty large clan, My brother Inlimbo led this clan for awhile. They're still around I believe and pretty large. We had the original 187 and a few others started to pop up. Eventually they were all merged into one large clan. A lot of the newer ones don't even remember the "founders", so sad.
Thats mainly why I have Imperial advisor's and list ppl as inactive or shore leave. So they are never forgotten or their efforts in the DSA.
Then came Star wars galaxies... Yet more wasted time. lol. I hate MMOs, they take up so much of your life.
I played that game since launch, prior to player cities, vehicles, anything. Took forever to travel around the maps. I started in one of the first guilds in the game, KOR. We had the first and largest city, when the patch was released, on the kettemoore server.
Left the game for a few months and came back to find the Guild in shambles. Started up a new one with a few friends from the KOR guild. Forget the name exactly, would have to ask Crono, he was in that one as well. Again lost interest and eventually left the game.
Then of course.. came the DSA.
Was out of the clan loop for awhile and felt the need to get back into it. Ever since playing the demo of swbf1 I started to plan out the DSA. Once the game was released, and I saw the lack of clan and buddy list options, I knew the community would need help.
The DSA started out as a site to help the swbf community organize with other players. A more organized site to communicate with players rather then the LA crap forums. We had the first Maps and guides posted for the game. A tradition I kept with for swbf2. We also had some of the first Player hosted servers up. Members would run servers off their home PCs, some 24/7, and list them on the site. DSA_1.1, 2.0,4.0, etc.. Recruitment was simple as registering on the site, ranking up was merely a matter of posting. How far we have come indeed.
What has made the DSA the best clan ever, is the ppl it has attracted. The membership is what makes this clan great. As much as I would like to think its my leadership, Without the members, there is nothing to lead.
Another thing that should be added to that above is this. In the very beginning it was just me and Inlimbo. He quickly lost interest in the game, but if it were not for him the DSA would not be here. The very first DSA website started off his web server for another site I was helping him to develop. Long after he gave up on his site, he still kept his web hosting account so we would still have up the DSA website. If it wasn't for his support and help in the beginning, and not just to the clan, but to me personally, this clan would not be where it is today, or even exist at all. For that I am forever grateful to my brother.
Other then that, I can only reiterate on what Zabka and Deslock have said. We started out with just me and Inlimbo hitting the public servers and recruiting the best players we found. Not just their skill, but for their desire to use actual tactics and teamwork. I believe Andypants was the first one to join up, then Corporal, 00SPEEDO, Frell, Thomas, Zabka, Deslock and others. You can see who the old timers are by clicking on the Members link at the top and sort by Join Date. Or click this.
We quickly redesigned the structure to include ranks and tryouts once we saw all the garbage you get along with decent players when you allow just about everyone in. Since then we have been carefully hand picking our recruits to make sure we get only the best of the best, according to our standards.

Don't forget the most shameful part in DSA History!
The formation of DA Microscopic PUTZ CREW
First came Majintony in August 12, 2005
Second Muncher in July 9, 2006
Last but proudly bearing the smallest putz, EagleOne in March 15th, 2007
Tiny Little Putz Crew unite! Jan. 9, 2008
This band of brothers started in a DSA SWBF2 server when EagleOne had the nerve to tell everyone I had a tiny putz. So naturally I had to take it out on MajinTony. *Wisper* Cause that guy also has a baby putz *Wisper over* So now the formation of the tiny putz crew is complete.
Warning some facts my be some what fictional but not this fact.
I hope Gino, taco and blunt know that the Lite Brights died.We are all gonna have to live in da woods some day, cause the government is gonna take our guns away.
