    Kramer Focus 8000 Bass

I came across one that I could refurbish, any bass players think it is worth it? I have no idea what they sound like but the condor body is killer!!!

Im just a guitar guy in general and I think it would be a good investment if all you havd to do is referb the metal and buy new strings.

Just make sure you dont spend more fixing it than you could buying a new one.

Yeah, thats what I'm wondering. Its only the body and neck, and the body is stripped so I would have to get new hardware. May be better just to start with a blank and make my own bass if I really want this shape (this model is really rare, but doesn't command a high price because it isn't well known)

Rico, I have been playing bass for years (18 years or so) and I have never been a big fun of kramer. If your going to play ( punk ,or metel hard rock) that will be good bass guitar. Make sure you get the right neck for it and spend a little extra money and buy good pick ups. What kind of Bass amp are you using ? That will make a big different. I play thought a Gallien-Krueger 800 amp.( 400 watts) The cabinet is a ampeg svt-410hlf classic 4x10.you never need any thing bigger then that b/c the club I play in I blast them out LOL.
I hope this help you out,DH:)

Yeah that does help, I'm thinking its not worth the $$$ pouring into the hardware (even though I do play metal and hard rock, lol). I've only got a little behringer combo but hopefully I will get a Krueger cabinet soon. I may as well save up for a classic fender explorer, nice reliable bass. Only problem is the whole only 375 were ever made thing... lol

Well as long as we're on the subject of basses, I think it's time I got a new one. I'm not really into any particular style and I've only played for a few years now. Any suggestions for a good bass and amp for me?

What kind of budget are you thinking? My favorite basses are the warwicks, both fretted and fretless (I play a lot of fretless and they are about as good as it gets IMO). They can run upwards of $1,200 for a nice Corvette though.

I was thinking somewhere in the $300-$1000 range or so.
