This is called debating. One side makes an argument, then the other tries to disprove it or make a counterpoint. This is not a Marvel vs DC debate to begin with. This is who is the mightiest. Someone said they liked DC better than Marvel. Several responded saying otherwise. All the while, who likes who best, should have never come into it. Who is mightiest is still being discussed. If you want to keep saying Spiderman or Batman, or who the **** ever, at least give us a reason as to why you believe he's so mighty.

People will often pick favorites because maybe to them they are the mightiest and have reasons to back it up with. All the same it is just a matter of opinion unless there is a total war among all heroes until 1 comes out on top thus proving they are the mightiest. I believe the mightiest hero is the one that has to handle the mightiest villains which is why I brought up Spawn/Ghost Rider since they have to literally face the forces of evil to prevent hell on earth.

Ok Batman eh I can understand.

BUt Marvel overall has the best superheros written about.

Flash isnt a superhero he's just on meth.

Silver Surfer, Spiderman, And Wolverine were the best in majority eyes but Deadpool is just stright up cool. Took Weapon X by volenteer, survived cancer, has the greatest jokes/wisecracks ever, and he's a merc whats not to love.

P.S. Reaver can you make me something like those Deadpool things for me?
and the skittles chick isnt super I'd break that **** in half.

wow i had no idea that movies make comics cool, you know what sucks about movies, they always have to alter the comic book versions, since we are talking about mighty, how come no one named dark phoenix, she did basically kill all the xmen, all that psychic energy flowing in her, or how about carnage, how crazy he got in maximum carnage. what about azreal, the new batman who had the cool flaming sword. how about bane, the guy who broke batmans back. anyway i do remeber their was a comic book crossover marvel vs. dc. there were battles between the 2 here you go

            Aquaman defeats Namor the Sub-Mariner
            Batman defeats Captain America
            Elektra defeats Catwoman
            Flash defeats Quicksilver
            Robin defeats Jubilee
            Silver Surfer defeats Green Lantern
            Spider-Man defeats Superboy
            Storm defeats Wonder Woman
            Superman defeats Hulk
            Thor defeats Captain Marvel
            Wolverine defeats Lobo

the minor battles were never resolved

no winner was declared. interesting that superman beats the hulk and batman beats good ol capt. america, the only boo was green lantern lost to the surfer.

The 5 main battles in DC vs Marvel were determined by the fans. It's not like the writers sat down and discussed who would really win, the fans voted and they drew it accordingly.

Again, this thread is a superhero discussion, not villains. Phoenix is a viable answer but not Dark Phoenix. If we were talking villains then you bring in beings like the Beyonder. He couldn't even be defeated, he had to be locked in a different realm. Or, Mephisto and Malebolgia. I mean is there anyone mightier than the Devil? God, but I don't think God has ever been personified in comics. The watchers could be a metaphor for God, but beyond begging to Galactus, they never really got involved.

I never realized how many comic fans we had in the clan. This has definately been a spirited debate.

Personally I liked Image more towards the end of my comic reading days. More graphic and they had the best art. I also liked the fact that most of their heroes had flaws. Marvel still takes the cake IMO though. They by far have the best major saga's and crossover's.

Actually he was in a much later issue in Spawn:

                  God, Master of Heaven

Am I the only one that collected the Spawn comics here?

What has me convinced that Spawn is the mightiest superhero is the fact that he actually becomes a god in response to the battle between God and Satan which is known as Armageddon. Spawn uses the earth as a weapon to wipe out the armies of both Heaven and Hell and restores human life on the planet. Spawn not only recreates the earth but makes it so God and Satan have no role in the "new" earth.

Honestly, I think no superhero has actually done something so "mighty" as to actually recreate a new world order as he sees fit so I say Spawn is indeed the mightiest superhero.

I have key issues of Spawn, like #1, #32(first living costume issue?), a few after #32, and #50. I liked Violator a lot and I have his first two mini-series. The one where he kicks all of his brother's ass's, and Violator vs. Badrock.

So ok, Spawn saves the day, Satan and God have nothing to do with "new earth?" Is the series over or something? Where does Spawn go from there with no conflict?

Boss the main title I collected from Image was Backlash. Not the most popular character, but I thought he was pretty cool.

Dr. Manhattan! Dang it! It says it in the book, "You're God now!" He freakin' creates a new planet and new life!

As a man, I don't have high standards for women. I just three criteria you must meet. One, are you a woman? Two, have you always been a woman? Three, if you answered "No." to either of the previous questions, can you keep a secret?

One should never start a conversation with, "I don't mean this in a gay way, but..."

                          Batman all the way.

                          To put it simple.

                          Money = Power

                          Knowledge = Power

Yes i know Superman is definitely cheesed out with all his powers. but if we really have to face the music, whether we agree with it or not, Superman has to take the gold on that one. He is easily the mightest. Wizard magazine actually placed him 3rd as all time most powerful after Thor and Silver Surfer. But that's not really fair cause for one, Thor is a God, he's immortal so that doesn't really count, kinda hard to kill someone who's not able to be killed. In a strength battle alone Superman would take him. Superman would also have difficultly with Thor's magical hammer, gots a weakness for that ****. Silver Surfer is also immortal after being given the power cosmic and the Surfer could rip the solar energy outta supes body before a battle began. And the whole hulk vs Superman issue is already resolved. Superman beat Hulk twice. Yes the madder hulk gets the stronger he gets, but even at the Hulk's maddest and dumbest, superman's strength bottoms out where Hulk's peaks. (and i'm talking about the pre-crisis Superman)
