This guy could be our next President?

Get ready Vets and fellow soldiers, as this piccy is guaranteed to piss you off royally.:

My Gawd! Rarely have I seen such a blantant lack of respect when the National Anthem is being played. Every American knows that civilians place their hand over their hearts, and Soldiers and Vets are allowed to salute.

Not always though, as the show of respect was changed after WW2.

Before then, you stood and gave the German/Roman style of salute, with your right arm raised, and pointing to the flag. But it was changed so it wouldn't look like the exact same style of the Nazi salute.

And to think Obama might end up being POTUS!. Granted, it's not that horrible, but it is HIGHLY disrespectful.

I truly wish the damn media would give Ron Paul more coverage.

    *sighs*

Are people even voting for him? I have not heard anything about him when voting results come in. I'm totally for him like you guys, but whats going on?

Ron Paul is consistently getting about 5% of the vote in the primaries.

Here is the video of it. John Edwards is also not holding his hand over his heart. This is the national anthem, not the pledge. You don't put your hand over your heart necessarily during the anthem. Every sporting event I go to, most people don't put their hands on their hearts and most don't even try to sing it (I always do). during the Superbowl, I don't recall the players and coaches doing it--or the fans. The pledge is where I always learned you do the hand over heart.

Also here is an obama response to some of very thinly veiled racist rumors around him.

          Correct Zab.

This pic is best looked at considering that everyone else is following what the idiot standing behind Obama did (f**king sheep)

That's why I said it wasn't that horrible, as at least he was standing.
But true protocol states that you're "supposed" to have your hand over your heart. Granted, as you stated, most Americans through ignorance or apathy, don't. But someone that running for the position of POTUS, should know better.

In his favor, I will grant that he did state that it was a faux pas on his part. It just doesn't look good. Nothing, but nothing pisses me off when people at events sit and talk and laugh while the national anthem is being played, and I've given several of them a severe dressing down on the spot.

I hate how the mainstream media fails to mention Ron Paul and his views on the Nation.

That's actually not true. I have seen several stories on him and he gets a lot of attention on the Colbert Report. if they are doing a story on the campaign, however, he won't get mentioned because he isn't anywhere close to being a contender.

Ron Paul is a Libertarian, not a Republican really. As such, he won't attract much of the Republican faithful's attention. The last really high profile libertarian I can remember was Lyndon LaRouche---back when I was in high school. He was widely seen as a bit of an extremist nut. it also doesn't help that many of your more extreme anti-government, private militia type guys are identified with libertarian politics as well. Unfortunately, the public can only view things through simple lenses of what they believe a Conservative, a Liberal, and a Libertarian each are--without digging any deeper.

I'm glad you guys all made the valid points I was about to reach in this post so I don't need to spend the time on this thread.

Riddle me this gentleman. How many athletes do you see put their hand over their heart during a national athem. I see about 1%?? I know they aren't leading our "great" country. But you see jackaces on the sidelines jaw jacking during the national anthem. That shows no respect to me. People all like pointing out that Obama isn't putting his hand over his heart but most Americans don't. Hipocrites.

Finally, I'm going to be less likely to do it now especially with the corrupt government we live in. You all have been posting the videos so you know what I'm talking about. I believe the only one that has a chance to lead us out is Obama.
