think of the clan members and 6 of my 7 friends who are on their 2nd or 3rd or 4th 360"reaver".
I bought the 60g ps3 a month after they released, neither I nor anyone I know has had any problems, also bluray won the hd vs bruray battle, so you get a bluray player also. do the right thing here spock

Ok Without taking either sides i'll say get the 360 Spock.Simply why?Because at the moment 360 has a huge library of games that have been growing since 2005.I'm impressed with Warhawk,Resistance,COD4,and what not,but come on man where are the other genres on the PS3?I know theres assassins creed and Heavenly of war err... Heavenly sword!Devil May Cry 4 asks to to wait and grab a soda while the game is installing lol.
I still see developers making PS2 games even though its a next gen,and yet they're still developing on the PS2 probably because they may feel unconfident with making games on the PS3 still.

Choose wisely with you cash,in the end its all up to you in determining which next Gen you want.PS3=playing with your clanmates, but also there won't be alot of games.
        360=Playing with clanmates(ie Gears of wars,CoD4,Halo3,etc,etc)
Wii=Pure fun,and retro madness(I hate when people only include PS3, 360 and exclude Wii in the next gen war when the Wii is one of a kind. They just need to stop making crappy party games).

Think about your favorite genres and think about which system is currently delivering the one you like.I like FPSs yes,but I can't live without an RPG either. If I played FPSs all the time then i'd be bored with gaming.
PS:In the end I may be a 360 and Wii enthusiast, but Choose whatever you like man as long as you have fun.I have love for the PS3 regardles of my bashing.

The poll is going to win on the 360 side as more people have that platform. Your results are tainted from the get go.

I think it depends on what you want.

I have had 1 360 over 15 months now and have been fortunate enough to be good there. I also fully expect it to go dead on me...law of numbers.

I have loved my 360 and the game selections. Xbox Live really provides a fantastic online experience.

I have a friend with all three platforms. I had a blast playing heavenly sword on his ps3. I did not like assassin's creed so much. I will buy my ps3 when they bundle the dual shock 3 with it. That being said, multiplatform games will probably be a 360 purchase for me until PSN improves its online features.

That being said, my guess is that the 360 will continue to have the best shooters and online experience--which you pay $4 a month for. the Ps3 will probably eventually have more varied games--as its install base is not yet US dominated, so you will get more types of games is my bet.

But for all the hullabulloo before the systems came out about cell vs dual processors, and different graphics card, etc. I think that is all useles. Games look great on both with no really noticable difference in the two. So make your selection on library, functions, online capabilities, and friends on line.

I don't see you going wrong.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

              Heh. You said taint.

If you want to watch high definition movies, get the ps3 for the blu ray drive. If you are going to use a wireless connection and don't want to pay extra, get the ps3. If you want a better system long run with a possibility of better games in the future, get the ps3.

I may be wrong, but a lot of people who bought the 360 with the HDMI output won't have as many RROD problems as others. Yeah, Reaver got the short stick on that one and has been sitting with his thumb up his butt waiting for microsoft to get him a new 360 (time and again). That's really a shame. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I hope that those who bought systems with HDMI output won't have so many issues.

I got the 360 because I wanted good games and I wanted to play with friends now. I wouldn't be buying or watching bluray movies. I was plugging directly into the router. I bought a 6' hdmi cable for $6. I had everything I needed. The 360 was a good choice for me. I'm pretty damn sure I wouldn't buy 2 360s just so I could play one while the other is being repaired. In the future, if there are just fantastic games for the ps3, I may get that as well. Who knows what life will bring.

I'd like to think what I posted was a fairly unbiased view. I see great pros of both systems. Honestly, there are not many 360 exclusives I play right now. I'd be just as happy with a ps3 and COD4 as a 360 and COD4. More of my friends are on the 360, so I know I'm always up for a good time there. It's really what you want out of your system man.

By the time FFXIII makes it to the U.S.,
the PS3 might be somewhat affordable. :)

I don't have much to say, Spock,
except that if you want it and you can afford it...get it.

Everybody pretty much said everything there is to say but choose whatever you see the most in a console. There are more games coming for the PS3 and until then there are enough games to keep you busy, I for one can't get enough of Warhawk. Even after buying new games I find myself going back to it and is indeed a great game. I bought my PS3 on the first day it was released and I recall some people saying it was a mistake since it is likely to break down sooner, well even today my PS3 is running and I haven't experienced any problems with it.:p

The decision is yours to make Spock so do what you think would make you feel satisfied.

I own a PS3 so I might be a little biased, however if you can wait then do so until fall. The PS3 is supposed to have some great exclusives coming out this year along with HOME. If these flop then make the choice and go with 360.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. Go with the system that more of your friends own. That is what should be the biggest factor along with the games library. 2008 should be huge for the PS3 with 2007 already setting a great library for 360.

Every PS3 guy that continues to mention the RRoD is an idiot. I'm sorry, but please try to stay a little more current with the industry before opening your mouths about **** you have no ****ing clue about.

FACT : THERE ARE NO RRoD's on ANY new 360's!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reaver's issue is the fact that he is not getting new 360's, they are simply sending him refurbished POS's.

PS3 guys : you have a PS3 good for you. Instead of looking for new threads to post smarmy remarks about the 360, post positive reviews of new games or new hardware updates for your PS3. What you're doing makes you a FANBOY!!!

NO 360 owners on this site post continuous slander about the PS3, so why do you vice versa???

Now that that's settled, back to the topic.

Spock you need to decide what you're looking for in the system first. PS3 is superior in hardware, while the 360 has a far greater selection in games. Both will catch up to each other over time.

In the end you're the one spending the assload of money.

FACT : I KNOW SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE RROD WITH A NEW 360!!
umm no the idiot is the one who pays for a POS system with his hard earned money and knows it will be defective, I like games on both systems, I was going to buy a 360 awhile ago but all of my friends had to keep taking theirs back and had LOTS of problems with it. I was planning to buy a ps3 later when the price dropped and have both systems.
yes the ps3 is superior in hardware, but right now the 360 is superior in games and game selection, depends if you like socrack or gaylo, the 2 mainstays of each system
