Ditch your comments about some of the problems with the 360 is valid with this thread. What isn't acceptable is your negative tone and pointless bashing of one system or another. It has been done over and over within the DSA and has caused hurt feelings with members. We had moved past the pointless arguing of the systems because it does nothing to help, but only serves to hurt people. No one else in this thread said anything bad about one system over another till you did. No one else after you said anything bad about a system after your post either. What was said were honest opinions by people with the various systems to someone who asked people he trusted for those opinions.


If you would like to discuss the faults of the 360 please make a thread about it. Before you do make a thread about the faults of the 360 take the time to research the facts of the 360 system. Also you should take time to research the facts of the PS3 and Wii systems so you can argue more effectively why one system is better than the other. From now on Ditch and others please try and keep hurtful comments to yourself, Comments that will cause strife and misunderstanding should have no place in the DSA.

Here we go again. I really didn't want to resort to calling out ppl but you've asked for it.

Ditch - You CONTINOUSLY look for ways to bash the 360 for no apparent reason. You say you know "some" ppl who've had the RRoD on a "new" system. Check the serial number on the system and contact the manufacturer to see when the system was "actually" produced. It's more than likely it's not actually a new system and has been sitting in the store since the new ones have come out. Do you live in a small town or city, where there is possibly old systems still on store shelves? The truth is the 360 error rate for NEW consoles is equal to that of the PS3.

Here you are again calling the 360 a POS system, based on the hardware failures of a few friends. Here you are again generalizing that EVERY system will have a hardware failure. Complete ignorance as usual.

From now on ANY and ALL comments bashing other ppl's choice in console will be deleted. Grow up and enjoy what you have. Stop putting down what other ppl like and enjoy.

Alright. This thread was for helping Spock not bashing each other. The truth is that each system has its ups and downs. I know I love the 360 and I don't really keep up with PS3. So whatever you decide, but the 360 owns right know. Who knows what will happen over the course of this year. We should make a thread like norm said for this where we can yell at each other all we like. Lol, needless to say people have some strong feelings for this issue.

I bought the 60g ps3 a month after they released, neither I nor anyone I know has had any problems, also bluray won the hd vs bruray battle, so you get a bluray player also. do the right thing here spock

As always, It depends on what you're looking for Spock.

If you want a next gen Multi-media setup, go for the PS3. Free online (for now at least), Blu-ray movies, which I truly must say are stunning and breathtaking.
The ability to pop in your media card and share movies and pictures with your friends and family, and it will play PS2/PS1 games that you already have in your inventory. And the ability to surf online on a widescreen Hi-Def TV is da bomb, even my Mom thought it was beyond cool that I could sit there on the couch with my wireless keyboard and surf the net, and download stuff right there on the fly. And the online store with all the free downloads and demo's is much, much better than what they had at first at launch. Even the expansions and games you do have to pay for is dirt cheap.

If you want a pure gaming system, and are not concerned about movies and all that other stuff, then go 360. Great library of games, great online, but you do have to pay for it. And you get the bonus of alot of Clanmembers have the system for now, you'd be able to play with/against the majority of the Clan.

In my personal opinion, I like to see you get a PS3, if not for any other reason than to help balance out the Clan. We have so many members on the 360, it would be really nice to see another members smiling face online to help this new division grow. But as I said, that's simply my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. But I do know that DSA members are indeed hardcore gamers, and in time will probably own both systems as the PS3 library continues to grow.

Just do what I did. Sit down and do your homework. Either way it's going to cost your some serious loot. Look at what both systems has to offer, and compare that to your needs and wants from your system. You won't lose either way you go, since it seems Microsoft has fixed the RROD issue, which was a MAJOR concern of mine.

It's really apples vs. oranges here. Both are tasty, but what are you in the mood for?.

My dear friend Yentis who is a member here has a 360, but it was an older one, not one of the new ones finally got the dreaded RROD, and has sent off for his box to send it back and get it fixed. But he's also told me that after being over at my house and playing on my PS3, he's going to get one too, so that way he can have the best of both worlds.

Ditch reply to whatever thread you want to. I'm just asking that you watch how you reply to it. It's a matter of etiquette, you never know who may read the thread and who it may upset. Think of people who make comments about the current war. We have DSA members who are currently serving and those who used to serve. Making a snide comment about the war could very well hurt some of them. You may think what you said didn't affect anyone, but it did and they responded.

Take Deslock for example, he and I have gone back and forth about the PS3 and 360 issues. To the point that I went off in a thread. We talked through PM's and it was settled. Misunderstandings happens, but to say you will never reply to a console thread again is a bit immature in my eyes. If you are thinking that because of this we don't ever want to know your opinion or we're going to jump down your throat every time that's not the case. I just wanted you to see why it bugged us. Hopefully others can learn form this and whether it's consoles, politics, family or anything else people will realize that words to affect people.

You've read through the thread and there's some good advice. Do your research, figure out what games you like, what your friends play and if HD movies are important to you. I don't have an HD TV so Blu-ray and HD-DVD isn't important to me. The PS3 was the cheapest way to get a Blu-ray player, but now you can get a Blu-ray player for the same price as a PS3 or cheaper. Keep that in mind. The PS3 is fun and Warhawk is a great game. The PS3 is starting to get more and more games so the libraries' for both systems are pretty even. Either the 360 or the PS3 would welcome you and both divisions have a bunch of fun people to play with.:D

I don't know Andy. Having over 30 buddies on my friends list with over 10 that I know in real life and they all happen to like video games, which are all great players and people I can chat with but this chart makes me feel like a loner now :(

Guess I just don't like video games and have no friends...better go send pms to all my friends about this before I go play Warhawk lol.

I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings. If they've been hurt I apologize.

I'm simply telling everyone to stop posting negative comments about the opposing system. Anyone ever have their mother tell them "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?"

This wasn't about a simple console argument (for which there are at least a dozen), it was the lack of respect for clan members with a different system.

Like I said before no 360 owner is continuously knocking the PS3. We've accepted all PS3 owners' decisions to get that system. It's your money and time spent playing so go with whatever you like better. With that in mind, have the respect to allow ppl to enjoy what they like without trying to put it down.

I wasnt calling anyone idiots or talking **** about anyone I was talking **** about a product and people got all defensive which makes no sense, 7 of 7 of my friends now have had to return their 360's in my opinion this means it is a defective peice of hardware, this should not affect anyone in here. was I calling anyone idiots about hardware? yes AFTER I was called an idiot for pointing out defective hardware and my reason for not buying it.
jeesh why do people get all offended when I point out flaws in a peice of hardware? point out all the flaws in the ps3 wii ps2 I wont cry and call people idiots over it unless I am called an idiot.
if my friends and I bought some hdtv's and a certain brand was highly defective, and I posted on here in a poll of what brand to get and said me and such and such of my friends had this brand and they were all defective, I wont buy this brand because I dont trust this tv to last,
would people get all pissed and jump down my throat and get offended? they shouldnt, it is a product I have stated facts about not people, I metioned reaver because he has joked about it.
