One of the main reasons I bought the PS3 is for the blue ray. Not for movies but for GAMES. A dual layered blue ray disk can hold up to 50gb. The much anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4 is touting 50gb. DAMN!! The Metal Gear Series is a highly proven franchise on the Play Station console and there is no doubt in my mind that the graphics, content & gameplay is going to be mind blowing. Resistance Fall of Man 2, which is slated to come out in the fall, is touting a seperate online co-op mission for 8 players. With all that data, it's not going to fit on a regular 16gb dual layered disk. The PS3 has some big exclusives coming out this year so it should be interesting. I too will agree that XBOX360 does have a better library, but the 360 did come out first - BUT then again PS3 owners can use that excuse forever. It was mentioned in a previous post by a 360 owner that the PS3 has better hardware but the 360 has the better library. Well, replacing hardware is not cheap!!!!!!!!

The problem about a game being 50gb is how long it would take to finish it because Halo is 2.4GB (yes I payed the 1,200M$ points for it) and its a great game, if people just focus on how much a disc can hold that we lost the point of gaming because we'll be waiting about 5 years for a "new" game to come out?

Eh. I am not convinced that DVD for movies is even going to be relevant soon.

Blu-ray for games? Warhawk was less than 700 mbs for the download from what I understand. And that continues to be the one game on the PS3 that I wish I could play. I think also with downloadable content and big enough hard drives, disk space is much less relevant.

Going forward? Dual Shock 3. Big plus. In game PSN messaging? They say it will happen in 2008. That's a big plus--and you PS3 guys will understand why the 360 owners love it so much as a result. The ease of joining games with your friends and messaging and even chatting while playing games really enhances the ability to coordinate. We often have too many people for one squad in COD4--so if we want to play public rooms, we split up. then when one sided loses a couple of people, messages are sent--and voila, we consoldiate in minutes. I don't see any reason why the PSN won't be there soon. Too many people are asking for it.

Future games? Not seeing much in the way of exclusives one way or the other that sway me. Gear of War2 on 360 will probably be outstanding. Socom games on the PS3 should be pretty awesome--although I am not sure how you top COD4 for squad combat games of that sort.

I hope that in the future we have a LOT of guys with both systems. I will be there when the dual shock 3 is bundled in with the system. Most of the guys I know who have both find themselves on the 360 the most for the online experience. But that is probably also because most of their friends are playing on the 360.

Aside from MGS4--I didn't like MGS2, so I am not swayed--what is the next great PS3 game that is coming out? Not multi-platform. I just want to know to time my purchase appropriately.

The only thing that I would work on for PS3 is that controller. I guess you get used to it but it fells weird. Specifically because of the triggers. Unlike the 360's controller which trigger fits naturally into your hand and offers resistance(very tiny bit), the PS3's does exactly the opposite. It gives way much too easily. But that is just my opinion, I guess you DSA on the PS3 have no problem with it though.

These are just in the shooter category. Warhawk won't be getting left behind anytime soon as Incognito is incorporating HOME support in the upcoming patch with multiple features so I see this game as a must have for PS3 players.

I'm just curious about Killzone, did the first one suck or something because it seems people are wary of how good this one will be. I was watching GT TV one day and when talking about PS3 shooters someone mentioned KZ2 and he just sort of dismissed it like it was nothing.

PS3 has some awesome games coming out.

Haze looks really good, so does God of War 3.

The real diamond here his Metal Gear 3. That is almost enough for me to buy the system in itself.

The 360 is still clearly a hardware failure. I will not apologize for calling you ignorant as you still are. You are still refusing to allow ppl to enjoy what they have, without having you needlessly pointing out the same thing over and over. It could be that the guy talking about Killzone 2 dismissed it because he was swayed more by Resistance 2 lol. I know when I read about Resistance 2 I almost forgot about Killzone 2. The first Killzone was good but there were certain areas that needed improvement which Killzone 2 seems to make up. Resistance FOM on the other hand is an awesome game and the sequel just makes it even better which really caught more attention.

I believe FARCRY 2 is now a PS3 exclusive. It's another shooter (next gen is getting crowded with this genre), that includes RPG elements. It's open ended like GTA and is suppossed to look pretty good.

Killzone 2 is going to kick major ass. At least I hope. Haze looks good and MGS4 will be a killer. Thats why I've been considering a PS3, but I haven't decided yet. But most of the PS3 games will probably be trumped by Gears of War 2. I hope MGS4 lives up to its expectation because it needs it after all the delays its been going through. And when is Home is coming out? Last time I heard it was coming out in September of 07.

Here's how I see it:

Haze? Eh. really doesn't seem all that interesting to me to be honest. I shed no tears when they dropped 360 development as I wasn't going to get for the 360 anyway.

Killzone2: Looks absolutely awesome graphically. But Killzone one was a complete bomb on multiplayer due to some severe coding errors that allowed for more cheating than socom2, and was poor enough that people weren't willing to give it a second chance. KZ2 is trying to make up for that by looking really good. There is fair reason to be skeptical.

Resistance2. I think that seems pretty awesome. Overall, they are simply good shooters, but the online component could be very compelling.

MGS4: I know it looks really good graphically. And I know people love the tactical stealth shooter genre. I am not as much of a fan.

I can only imagine what God of War 3 will be like.

When is Socom4 and Socom Confrontations?

I am a bit torn because by the time I get the system, I am afraid that I will be too far behind the warhawk curve to get into it, but no new compelling games will be out there for me to get into until Resistance.

In the meantime, I will be busy with Vegas2 on the 360, COD4 (still fun to me) and am looking forward to Too Human.

Until they fix the PSN to be as user friendly as LIVE, I will get my multiplatform games for the 360. So multiplayer games that I play on the PS3 will likely need to be exclusives.

Theres also Metal Gear Online which is a Vs game.Now I played this type of mode in Metal Gear Sold 3 Subsistence when the servers were up,but last year in march they closed it down :(.
This and metal gear solid 4 has me staring.I don't have a PS3,HOWEVER my brother happens to have one,and lucky its the bro I get along with because my bro who has a 360 doesn't even like to lend out things he doesn't even play(I.e Gears of Wars,Halo 3,Marvel:UA :().
I'm also hoping that Square will announce a FF7 remake eventually along with a SWBF3 annoucement.With all of the remakes that square is doing for the FF series I think its due time for a FF7 remake into some modern day graphics.

In my latest issue of Offical PS Magazine, they asked a square developer about a possible remake for FFVII, and he said they weren't even thinking about it. I think the best you're going get is Crisis Corp for the PSP. It's a prequel to FFVII. I do believe they will be releasing the original PS1 version for play on the PS3 and PSP, through PSN.

I agree with you zab, killzone one was not very good, killzone 2 looks good but not 1 to really anticipate as much as socom or gears 2, haze... not too sure about, looks fun but with rb6vegas 2 coming out and also the fact that cod4 still rocks and patches/ updates are coming out for it, well I have prestiged 4 times and am still not even close to being sick of it.
spock whatever system you get make sure to get cod4, there are divisions for it on both sides for a reason.
