What's up people?!?
Damn, it's only been two weeks, but it feels like a month already! Well, most of the senseless yelling has now stopped. At this point, we're only getting yelled at when we **** up.
Aside from the hours and hours of studying, this place rocks! We get paid to work out and shoot guns. What could be better? There IS a lot of homework and studying. Aside from that though... awesome.
My preparation for PT worked out well for me. I've got twice the physical stamina of the average person in the class. I've met all the running requirements. I've also ran the PT course, which includes a lot of jumping and climbing. I'm sitting pretty. I'm glad I prepared with kickboxing and running, but my fears were unfounded. We've probably only ran about 8 miles total since we've been here.
We've got our full uniforms (minus the dress uniforms) issued to us now. We get our body armor issued on Tuesday. Once we get it, we've got it wear it Mon-Fri. Since I was never in the armed forces, it's pretty badass.
Well, I came online to pay some bills, so I'd better get to it. I miss video games with you fools, but I just don't have the time (or an internet connection). I'm actually lucky because I'm getting up to 6 hours of sleep a night. The first three days I was here, I was getting 2 hours a night. Hot chicks are far and few between, but there are a couple. Oh well. Getting busy in a government issued room would be a really bad idea. I've only got, um, 5 months left! Sweet. I can hold out. :D
Later people!

Hey people. Thanks for the kind messages. Things so far have been great (for the most part). Time is going by so quickly my head is spinning. We are just running from one thing to another.
The classwork is pretty much a joke. My roommate and I thought law was hard because we were putting so much time into it. We learned that 90% of the stuff we studied was WAY overboard, so we pretty much stopped studying. We still smoke most of the other trainees. Almost everyone is in pain from running. Most of us are taking motrin on a regular basis. Ice has become my new best friend. Firearms are hella fun. I wish we did it every day.
The worst things about this place are the location, the female population and the slugs that should be kicked out. As time goes by, I have to control myself more and more from socking someone in the face. Although, I've got to say I'm not alone. About 50% of the class, including one of the instructors would like a piece of this one guy. :D haha. This dumb kid starts spreading rumors about people (including me) when he doesn't know the entire story. I flipped out on him during lunch the other day right in front of the rest of the class. That felt good. We start boxing soon and I'm glad he's in the other section of our class because I'd probably go a little overboard.
There's one chick here (not in our class) who gets nailed by her boy toy in her room and starts yelling, "I'm almost there, Sir. I'm almost there, Sir." bahaha. She shares a wall with one of our class mates, so our friend can hear it every time it starts. We're trying to get our classmate to text us when it happens so we can come over.
Ditch, our body armor is really light. It won't stop a rifle, but it doesn't weigh 20lbs either. We got to check one out the other day and I think it was only about 5lbs. It's level 3 or something. I don't know much about body armor. I'll give you more details when they issue it. It's funny, but now I don't know why I was excited about that. It's the last thing on my mind. Someone the other day dropped their p2000 on the range, so maybe I should get more
excited about getting the armor. :D
Damn people. I want to sit down with a 360 controller so badly! A buddy brought up his ps2 and guitar hero. We're waiting for academy graduation to end and vacation (I mean spanish classes) to start before plugging it in. People in Spanish get out of class, change out of uniform, go to chow and then straight to the bar. It will be a 2 month paid vacation in a location that you would never want to visit in your life. haha.
It's starting to get hot now, so wildlife is coming out. The other day, we were on train watch training and found a baby scorpion walking around in broad daylight. Also, we were running sprints and saw a burrowing owl in the middle of the track. It was pretty sweet. If it were not against the rules, I'd catch a scorp and keep it in my room. No reason to lose a job over that though... Ok, I'm going to hit the gym, lift for a bit, and then hit the bikes.
I miss you all. Later peeps.

Hang in there and do the best you can.
I remember when I went through basic and Ranger training. The one thing that motivated us that was that every day that went by, brought us that much closer to graduation day. Hang in there, I know you can do it.
What you've embarked upon is not only a career, but an entire life changing event. Do that PT. Wear that uncomfortable armor and fire that rifle straight and true. Mark those targets, and kill those enemies.
Remember that everything you're going through, you volunteered for.
You stepped up to the plate, and rose up for the challenge. You will now do things you never dreamt you'd ever be able to do.
Wearing that uniform, and carrying that weapon is now an honor.
Looking back now, I can see that I never, ever should have left the military. But then again, hindsight is always 20/20.
I was just tired of always fighting, tired of being soooo tired, and wishing sooo much I could just take something as simple as a shower.
But as I do, One day you will look upon your wall as I do, and see all the awards and medals you've won.
And you will miss it, and those days of glory.
Hang in there, and know that through every obstacle you face, Your DSA brethren and sisters are right there with you, egging you on, if not in body, then in spirit.
Fight on DSA Warrior, we are by your side.
Come back to us soon, and tell us of your victories.
Deslock.

Every time I toss on that rough duty uniform, I'm proud to be mean and green. I try to have a nicely ironed and starched uniform and high gloss shine on my boots every morning. There are some people who don't even do that for inspections. There are no guns allowed on property, but we've got our red guns by our side every day. Out of 39, I'm #3 in law grades. Also, I stopped studying about a month ago. I'd just go to class and reviews. My law instructors want to see my at #1, so I guess I'll start studying again and see if I can pull out the high grades.
I can't believe they actually pay me for going here. Last week, I shot about 1,000 rounds at the range, swam, ran about 6 miles, fought off some knife attacks, etc. This is the best damn job in the world. My legs hurt like hell, but there's only about 20 more days of running and then I'm done. When I don't bother studying for class, I can actually get a good 8 hours of sleep. Actually, I'm waking up in the middle of the night now, so I think I'm sleeping too much during the week. haha. OC is coming up. I'm looking forward to being done with that. Nothing like having a chemical sprayed in your face and then getting into a "fight".
We qualified with our pistols recently. I didn't do as well as I wanted, but I choked big time at the 15 yard. The p2000 has a really funky trigger compared to something like a baretta (so my marine roomie keeps complaining). I kept rushing the trigger at the 15 yard line and blew about 20-30 points. I think I threw away 6 rounds at 5 points a piece. Oh well. I wasted some hot rocks and can't change my score. I passed and have more time to improve. If it came down to a gun fight, I feel confident that I could out draw and get off the first accurate shot. Plus, once I get into the field, I'm going to go ape **** at the firing range. Next is the judgement pistol courses, followed by m4 and then shotguns. F-in sweet! :D That p2000 is as good as mine now that I qualed, but I can't holster it until I'm done with Spanish months from now.
There's something about this place that makes 1,200 guys think they are going to get lucky with a few of the 100 girls here. It's absurd and hilarious. We were cockblocking at the bar all night. Some douchebag had to keep sending his friend over to talk to our girls. He couldn't even talk to them himself. Des, if you ever went to the g-bar during basic, I'm sure you know what it's like.
I can't wait to get away from here. During the week, it's just another work day. But, there's no where to relax in the evening as long as we have girls drinking with us. Eh... they're cool though, so it's worth it. Anytime some ass starts hitting on our classmates, we go over and just start hitting on their females. haha. We're thinking about breaking away to a near by town tonight for an overnight trip. It could be fun.
Again, can't believe this is such an awesome job. I'm loving it. The running could go a little better, but there's always ice and motrin."F--k Ron Paul!" -Gino in the heat of a losing battle; COD4; Crash.Comment

Sounds like you’re having a good time Dioxin. I’m glad things are going good for you. There is nothing better than a job that you really like and have fun doing. I know how you feel about shooting all of the guns. I did the same thing during combat training when preparing to go to Afghanistan and it was a blast. Take care and good to hear from you bud. We all look forward to when you are back on the 360."Do on to others before they do on to you.”

What's up people. Things are rocking here. For the most part, I've been having a blast. I got to shoot a fully automatic M4A1. Blew through about 90 rounds in a minute and a half. I also had a good time shooting a remington 870 law enforcement model shotgun. I've got to get me one of those once I get to my new home (obviously, not the LE model though). We got to mess around with an AK47, but didn't get to shoot it. That was pretty cool anyway.
Driving courses have been great. Emergency response driving was awesome. I was taking turns at 45 mph and swerving between cones on a straightaway going 85mph. Those LE model chargers can haul ass. We also did 4x4 driving on a multimillion dollar offroad course. I got a tahoe high ended on a 3ft boulder. :D Stupid rock shifted and I got it stuck on the frame of the vehicle. Luckily I rocked it off by turning the wheels and it didn't look like there was damage.
I'm not going to lie to you. Being sprayed with OC was the worst 2 hours of my entire life. If a cop ever pulls out the OC, just do what ever they say no matter what. It was awful. Detox was miserable.
I can't take the boredom here. I'm going to have my xbox sent to me. I'm in the middle of no where. Unfortunately, I still won't have internet access to play LIVE. :(
I wrote a much longer response yesterday, but the stupid computer crashed. These are the highlights.
Later people,
D
EDIT: Christ, including myself, there's about 15 people here from Buffalo. It's crazy. I totally didn't expect that."F--k Ron Paul!" -Gino in the heat of a losing battle; COD4; Crash.Comment
