    COD4 Prestige class

Besides getting a fancy new avatar, is it worth it?

I unlocked it last night, but starting all over again doesn't exactly thrill me.

After all, your kill rates and stats all remain the same, to me it just looks like you lose all the nice weapons you unlocked, to get a slightly different avvie.

it's not worth it, only people like gino and phoenix do it. I'd say if you play it like every day then it's not as big of a deal, but if you are like me and only play during the weekend and it took forever to reach 55 in the first place it is definitely not worth it.

I don't get to play much, but I like unlocking prestige. It helps keep you sharp with the different weapons. That way while in game no matter what you pick up you're still proficient with it. It's also fun to pick a weapon/class each time to focus on. You get to unlock the challenges again so when you jump down the silo by "accident" its just to get the challenge:D. It keeps the game a little fresh, the maps and some of the modes get boring after a while to me.

Des, I've done it 8 times already, but its totally on how you want to play the game. I side with Christ and Norm on both view points. I liked it because like norm was saying that I continuely learn to get better with different weapons. But like Christ said it doesn't do anything else. I think it looks best either doing it all or not at all. The 5 stars look sweet and for people like Blunt who has been playing the game as long as me, has stayed at the 5 stars. People underestimate him and he dominates. To me now I just want to get it over with so I can try getting the golden guns for a new challenge.

Des I think you may be better off with staying the way you are until you are definitely ready to commit and change over. Cause if your skill level isn't like others it may take you a loooong time to get those ranks and weapon back. To me, I can M-16 whore and do just fine. So since you start off with that weapon I can rack up kills. I go through each prestige every 1.5 weeks or so. But I am ready to get it done with.

I stopped at 4 and level 55, it messed up my kill death ratio using some of the crappy weapons. now I am focusing on getting 100% on all the headshots

If u r really hardcore then yeah, it brings you back to basics and makes you a better player, no doubt...but if you are like me knowing the new game is just around the corner, I don't think so. My 2 cents...:father:

If you really think its worth an avatar than go for it. I personally just did the headshots for the golden weapons i wanted rather then taking forever and a half to get all of them.

Well there's a rumor about an update giving more benefits at leven 10 Prestige. I decided to do it because then I would have twice the challenge: Finishing all the Presige levels and the Golden Weapons.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

As long as they are simply rumors, i won't buy in to it.

After getting all the "Golden Weapons" and playing so many matches its not hard to find what guns are good...

There are many reasons why I don't want to go through prestige.

Gino already mentioned a couple of them.
People underestimate me and then I place the fear of the Empire into their hearts.

I agree that it looks best if you do all 10 or just don't do it at all.
I know me. I'm not going to want to do it all if I started.

Another reason is I don't want to jeopardize my team.
I am very comfortable with all of my classes and I know what situations they are built to combat against.
I don't want to ruin my teams chances of winning because I was running around with a M4 without a red-dot, trying to get head shots.

I've already given up on trying to get the Golden AK because whenever I would put my G3 or M14 on,
I would always get owned and end up switching back to my blue AK anyway.

Completing challenges and ranking up was fun when I first got the game
and was learning the ropes, but I'm all about helping the DSA win.
I feel that I can do that better with where I'm at now as opposed to if I go prestige.

I already get my fun out of sneaking around with UAV Jammer and C4ing that unsuspecting sniper in the corner of the map.

So whenever someone says they're going to go prestige,
all I have to say is "think about the team, man!".

I enjoyed doing prestige. For me it kept the game fresh and fun. You are always working for something.

That being said, I am on the last level of prestige and I am kind of sad it is over. Thank God there are new maps comping out for the 360 or I might cry.
                        Boom. Outta here.

I did prestige for one level and I probably will not do it again. It's fun, but it's sort of doing the same thing over and over again. To get higher prestige, I think I would have made the challenges harder as the prestige level went up. Like instead of 15 kills with a weapon for Marksman I, I would have increased it. That way you really have to be a great player to get to the top level.

they really should have added extra perks or something for when you reach the 10th prestige. I don't really care about having the icon next to my name, I'm more content with having all my weapons. I still find joy in killing people.
