Inlimbo first turned me on to this show. John Adams is mini series on HBO with Paul Giamatti as J. Adams. It's a great series that depicts the struggles, politics and atmosphere during the time of the independence of the US. I urge everyone to check it out.

"Tell me what you regard as your greatest strength, so I will know how best to undermine you; tell me of your greatest fear, so I will know which I must force you to face; tell me what you cherish most, so I will know what to take from you; and tell me what you crave, so that I might deny you."

Think they're doing a marathon of it tonight. On Part 3 right now, which is the one I seem to always catch and have seen like 3 times now. But it's very good and very well done. It's skips over a lot of the actual war of the revolution (for that I think the history Channel has a very nice long series on it), but focuses more on the politics of that time, and more specifically John Adams of course. But you also get an insight to other important people like how Franklin and Jefferson were as people."POWER!!! UNLIMITED POOWWWEEEER!!!!!!

Well, don't forget this is a based on a biography---so historical accuracy is always unclear in these things. But probably better than my guesses! You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

Well at the very least it gives some insight. At least more so then just reading facts in some text, it adds some passion behind the men based on their writings and others about them."POWER!!! UNLIMITED POOWWWEEEER!!!!!!

It is a very good show from an even better book. It is accurate because most of the information that David McCollough (the author) gets is from the letters that John and Abigail wrote to each other. I am sure it will get more interesting because Adams and Jefferson didn't exactly agree on much.
If you are interested in this kind of show and enjoy reading I highly recommend 1776, one of McCollough's other books. It is incredible what these poeple went through to forge this country.
Prepare to see a shitload of awards go to this miniseries.Boom. Outta here.
