    A father's love - a son's joy.

This is amazing - I have completed 2 marathons and 3 half-marathons; as well as several triathlons (sprint distance). I can't imagine doing what this father did - it is truely AMAZING!!!

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. ― Alexis de Tocqueville

"If we are marked to die, we are enough to do our country loss. And if to live, the fewer men, the greater share of honor...... We few, we happy few. We band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother, be he ne'er so vile. This day shall gentle his condition. And gentlemen in England now a-bed shall think themselves accursed they were not here. And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks who fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day."

I cried when I first heard their story years ago, when he was born the doctors said he should just forget about his son, and that they should put him in an institution and leave him there the rest of his life,
the dad was fat, and the doctor told him if he didnt lose weight he would die,
so by doing the marathons the son saved the dads life and the dad gave the son more from life
Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man, that state is obsolete. A case to be filed under "M" for Mankind - in The Twilight Zone.

That father right there is a perfect example of what is still right in this world. There is still hope for humanity...
