I think he did the right thing. Even if it was two fully grown white guys, the situation wouldn't change. He still did the right thing in terms of stopping them. Now he could have done it peacefully as only retards would make a move on a shotgun. Killing the people wasn't necessary but I guess he was trigger happy and his adrenaline was pumping. But thats no excuse to take a person's life. Also, as I recall, it said that he told them to stop. When they showed no sign of stopping, he shot them. Under the circumstances, I would have shot in the air. Then if they didn't stop, shooting to wound would be the best option. You can't rely on law enforcement as it takes a while for them to come unless you're some rich VIP.Nobody knows what really happened except Horn. Now that the system has cleared him, he's of the hook and can't be touched. If something else happened, then he will have to live with it. What makes me angry is people pointing fingers and saying that he killed them because they were illegal or latino for that matter. If he shot them in the back, how could he tell if they were latino or not? According to the article, there seemed to be no evidence that he could have identified them as Latinos. The blame is in part due to the fact that there a number of discrepancies in the story. He says he shot them in the back, and then they threatened him, and then they followed him too the yard. Which one is it? Anyways, I don't like that he killed them, but I respect that he wanted to protect his neighbors property.

yeah, judgeing by the fact that they got shot in the back, i don't think he was being threatened by them at all. He probably just walked into the room where they were stealing stuff, cocked his shotgun and just said, "sup?" They probably dipped out with as much as they could carry, and then got their backs blown out. Then he probably came back to the phone and acted all like "oh my god what have i done???!!!!!!! NOoOoOoOOOOOOoOOO!!!!!

But it doesn't matter, it sucks to be happy when someone dies, but they were probably the ones crappin in the corn field given salmonella to people and sellin drugs to school kids on the weekends, so f*ck them

Were these two individuals caught doing these particular things (I know there was a drug charge in there)? Or are you just assigning blame for things that illegals do to these two guys?

It's nice to see that people think they have the right to determine who lives or dies. Especially when nobody's lives are in danger.

To me, the issue isn't what this guy did. I think within Texas law, he was probably entirely within bounds and there wasn't any chance a grand jury of his peers would indict him. The issue I have is with how people respond to the story and the glee they take in a couple dead men.

Brocman--you think they should shot for salmonella when the FDA has 100s of labs working to try to figure out where the heck this came from? You know where this outbreak came from? Or is it because these guys might have dealt drugs to kids in school? I thought you said you smoked blunts. Nobody ever sold you drugs when you were in school? Whoever did deserves to be shot in the back for petty larceny?

I guess it is okay to play God so long as the people are illegals. Because that doesn't make them people anymore.

I am in favor of deporting them all. I am not in favor of killing them.

Yeah, my bad zab i don't have any evidence to back that up, and it was wrong to jump to conclusions. However, it's not like they were the poster children for how to be a great citizen. With my weed habits I'm not the poster child for that either, but I'm not breaking into people's houses.

It was wrong of me to say f*ck them maybe they were actually nice people and only stealing to get some money to feed the family. I'm not for killing illegal immigrents im sure 95% of them are only here because there isn't work in their home country and they want to make money to send home to their families.

The only ones I have a problem with are the ones who are convicted felons in their own country and are here because it's the easiest country for them to get into and hide from the law. Or the ones who are felons in this country and keep coming back because our judicial system is not very tough on them. The guy Torres was arrested for cocaine, but what else was he guilty of that he didn't get caught for? I am not saying that it was anything worth being killed over, but maybe it was and he only got what he deserved. Maybe they actually were threatening him and only ran when they saw that he had a shotgun.

But there is no way for me to know any of this for sure, anything is possible. It is very likely that the truth about what happened will never be known by anybody but the guy who shot them.

Torres had a criminal record and had been deported in 1999. Both men used aliases and had fake IDs:

“Pasadena Police Department Capt. A.H. “Bud” Corbett said Torres was deported to Colombia in 1999 after a 1994 cocaine-related conviction. He was on parole until 2017, Corbett said.

Police found a Puerto Rican identification card on Ortiz. He had two aliases. Torres had identification cards from Colombia, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He had three aliases.”
Yeah sure, these guys were stand up citizens that just had a bad run of luck. I always carry three different forms of identification that don't match, don't you? These guys were pieces of **** plain and simple. If you can't see that that your ****ing blind. So in this case, yes, I am happy they are dead. They would do nothing but use up tax payer money to keep them in jail until they did it again. Being on Parole and still doing stupid **** like that, they weren't gonna change. Whats to say that next time maybe they would come back to the area and rob another house. This time when someone's home, or asleep and they decide to take it to the next level and actually kill someone. Does an innocent person need to die before someone takes action? Deporting them did real well last time, what would have made it work this time? He defended his neighborhood from a real threat and one that could very well have ended up on his front door the next night.

And ya know what, it was the Latino political interest groups that started crying about Racism and all that bullshit to bring it as the center of the argument. We are all just taking a side of the argument that They started.

As for the Salmonella thing, wasn't it found out a few years ago with Spinach being infected with E.Coli that it was because of the farmers defecating in the fields? Why do you think Mexico has Moctezuma's revenge? It's from infected water and food by human feces. I don't know if this is the case with this recent outbreak, but I wouldn't be surprised.

            Originally posted by http://infectiousdiseases.about.com/od/foodsafety/a/salmonella.htm
What are the most frequent sources of Salmonella infection?
Any kind of food, drink or pharmaceutical can be contaminated with Salmonella. Milk and eggs are the most common sources of Salmonella infection, but meat, fresh fruits and vegetables may also be contaminated. Children can get Salmonella from handling pet chicks, ducks, other farm animals, turtles and iguanas. Water can also be contaminated and along with milk, can affect the largest number of people simply because of the mass consumption of water and milk.

How do animal feces or human feces with Salmonella end up in my food?
Here are some examples of how feces can get into your food:
An infected person who prepares food may not wash hands properly after going to the bathroom, and minuscule quantities of feces on the hands get on the food.
Crops are grown either where animals are present, or using fertilizer that is contaminated with Salmonella through animal feces or other animal byproducts. Salmonella can be on the outside of fruits or vegetables and the fruit is contaminated when it is sliced, as bacteria from the outside are carried to the inside on the knife.
Eggs may have chicken feces on the shell that contaminate food when the egg is cracked. Milk may be contaminated with cow feces.
So they need to check the Fertilizer used, water supply, and then the cleanliness of the workers. If it's because they are shitting in the fields, it's either A) The companies fault for providing such horrible working conditions, or B) the workers themselves for being disgusting ****ing people that think they are in a third world nation. BTW who do you think mostly works on those farms? Illegals.

If it's B, then seriously as a nation we have to start looking at this "Taking back one block at a time" bullshit and the outbreaks as biological warfare at that point an act of ****ing war.

200 cases all around the country suddenly happening within a short amount of time is unlikely to be due to people crapping in fields. did they just suddenly decide to start doing it? Why weren't there these outbreaks for as long as migrants have worked fields?

As for them not being good people...I am not going to argue that point. but if that is the standard, there are a whole lof of motherf---ers out there who should be getting killed--regardless of legal or illegal status.

Again, I think what the guy did was legal. The reactions to the story are more telling. I truly doubt that people would be this pumped about the story if it was just some out of work dudes who did this and might have had a bit of a rap sheet. People may not be shedding tears over that either, but I don't think the same generalizations would be made.

If part of the crime is wasting tax payer money, then there are a WHOLE lot of people out there who should be in trouble. It's a bullshit double standard. These guys weren't any different than a lot of other guys out there on the wrong side of the law. But somehow we have the wisdom to believe they DESERVED to die because of a man-made law. It's more the disregard for human life than anything else that gets me.

The role of INS is to KEEP illegals in the country. The do what they can to make them legal immigrants or naturalized citizens. That's why they are called Immigration and Nationalization Services. This is why CBP became its own entity. It's hard to deport and keep people under the same govt system.

Border Patrol monitors the border between checkpoints while CBPO's sit at checkpoints. CBPO's turn people away on a regular basis. They also catch aggravated felons trying to flee to Mexico that are wanted by local authorities. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents are responsible for investigating reports of illegal aliens and smuggling of any kind. If anyone actually needs that contact number, I can tell you how to get it.

Border Patrol are the front line defense. Hundreds a day? BPA's on the southern border apprehend 500 people on a bad day and 1000 on a good day. Some have previous records and some don't. If they are lucky, previous records are immigration violations and not violent crimes. Too many good BPA's sacrifice their lives for this dangerous job.
