Yeah, this hardware crap is pissing me off. I just got the rrod again. So I won't be on for a while. Unfortunately for me, I have to fork money over now as I got the 360 when it only had a 1 year warranty.

The extended warranty was applied retroactively to all 360s. You shouldn't have to fork over money.

Really? Because I read the statement and they said that existing warranty policies stayed the same. And I already had the rrod, so doesn't that "use" the warranty?

No. the warranty continues for three years from point of purchase (but you don't get new warranties with each refurb).

But the warranty was retroactively applied. I got my 360 in Jan 06. I just got RROD a month ago. No problems. In fact, when the machine first came out, the warranty was 3 months. People who paid to get it fixed were compensated retroactively for it. So I think you should be okay. You should call xbox though.

Well, I submitted my order for a repair online and it said my warranty expired 9/6 at 8:00 PM, so I think its cool. But I'll call them tomorrow to see if they have everything down.

Oops. I meant that I got my 360 in Jan 07. Anyway, if your warranty expires in Sept, then that means you got your 360 (orig) in Sept of 05??

Actually, they messed that up. Thats why I'm going to call them. I got my 360 in December of 06, because I remember Gears being out then. They'll have to fix that unless they pull some hidden policy out of their ass.
