Cool, but not practical. Someone with a box cutter could cause a lot of damage to the exterior.

The fact that the Acronyms make no sense what so ever pissed me off.

I came up with GFIA, so what language is he using. Stupid, retard Yuppy talk? Other then that, How well does the material protect in a crash? I would feel a hell of a lot safer in a steel car then this material. It's a great concept, but I don't think the practicality is there.

Yeah the car is like communism, it looks good on paper, but doesn't work in real life.

WTF? Human emotions and human mystic concepts? The idea is pretty cool, but what about safety?

If you think about it, the body of the car doesn't do much with safety. I think it is more of the frame of the car that keeps you safe. Just look at this crash on the autobahn.
                <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KbdH-J6UoYI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KbdH-J6UoYI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The body gets shreaded and the roof is torn off. That guy walked away from that because the frame of the car was perfict. If it's fabric or metal it doesn't make a differance at 120 MPH. I think the pieces of metal might be just shrapnel at that speed.

I would drive that fabric car.

yeah if it had a really awesome frame then I could see it working. But if you got into a minor fender bender I wouldn't be surprised if repairs for it are expensive as hell.

But on the plus side it probably attracts the ladies.

It's definitely a combination of the frame and body. Take any newer fiberglass/plastic body car and run it head on with a old steel body car, the older car will most likely cut through the newer one like a knife through butter. Ever see those old ladies in the HUGE old ass caddies getting into accidents. The other cars are always all ****ed up while the caddy has maybe a dent. As the saying goes, the older cars were built like a tank.

If every single car on the road was using the same material on their bodies, then there probably wouldn't be much of a problem. But with the mix we have in this country, if an older steel car hits this one, game over. Whats to stop a piece of twisted metal from piercing through the door and driver?

What happens if it get wet? How do you clean it throw it in the washing machine? Will the fabric protect your engine and electrical components from getting wet?

I was also thinking what happens when it snows on the car and the fabric gets weighed down by snow? Maybe this car is for people who don't drive when there is any kind of precipitation.

OK, with what will most likely be a car that boggles the mind when it comes to price (the BMW Z8 was somewhere around 250,000) I think the least of your worries are leaving it out in the rain. You could probably afford a harem of girls to hold umbrellas over it when it rains while you eat caviar with your Swedish Bikini Team (S.B.T.) girlfriend on the beach in Cancun. Plus, the guy stated that safety concerns can be met in space frame cars (i.e. NASCAR)

Note: you might have enough money to hire some guy to equip the car with a voice like KIT from Knight Rider
