This isn't funny, but it really does show the differences between both versions.
And not just speaking as an old guy that saw the original in the theater, the original version just seems brighter, and more well done. I'm not saying that as a Star Wars fan, but rather my own artistic viewpoint. The explosions in the original are just brighter in most cases.

For me personally, this battle seemed more realistically dynamic, than say the opening battle in Revenge of the Sith which was pure CGI. In a "New Hope" the battle seemed much more dramatic and nail biting, then the opening battle of ROTS.

It may be just my nostalgia goggles speaking, but I really don't think so. :



For me, adding that fake ass looking Jabba, having Greedo shoot first (which looks like total shit) and those horrible Tatooine shots of totally fake ass CGI, then putting in Hayden as Vader's ghost, and Vader's NOOOO when he throws Paply down the hole... Just....

But I am a "purist" at heart.

Hopefully Disney will release a clean version of the originals.
Just anything please than that horrible singing and dancing act in Jabba's palace.

P.S.:

And Disney, please make Boba cool again. Please make EP 7 like the prequels NEVER existed. Stephen King made an awesome ass re-make of "The Shining" Please follow his lead. PLEASE. ;)
