Name meanings/origins

This may be a weird question, but I (maybe others as well) are interested in how everyone got their gamertags/usernames.

It's simple for me. I picked it as my AIM name first and just went for something that was Derek Jeter related but still sort of unique. Well, he's the captain of the team and it fits with the name so it worked easy.


There's actually a street down the road from me called Kerry St. I thought that was funny when Kerry first signed up and I briefly thought if he lived on that street, laughing it off when I realized what I had just thought.

Mine is also my AIM screen name but mine started as a joke with an ex-girlfriend and it kinda stuck. Plus Han Solo is my hero so I guess that kind of counts too.

My name origin came from region and 1 from when I played High School football. We were in Region 1 4A at one time. My 360 gamer tag came from my son and I making it up. I choose Quick and he choose Shot. So, we combined them to QuickShot.

My username Kamui comes from an anime called x/1999, and Kamui actually means "God's Blade".

Originally I was gonna go with xxGohanxx ,but I found that it was to much of a known name at the time and I wanted to pick a name that noone knew ,but will know later on in the future.So I went with xxkamuixx hence the original name on SWBF before switching to just "Kamui" and [ARSE]Kamui.

I went by Gambit for a long time, all 4 socom's, not really named after the xman, I liked the name Gambit and what it meant,
but now my name of Ditch, its my old high school nickname my close friends called me (it is also used in the awesome charlie sheen movie Terminal Velocity), everyone else just called me Rich,

But seriously, I thought it would be funny in BF2 when I killed somebody if it said "The blunt killed somebody". It just stuck after that.

My friends and I all had DBZ nicknames for each other like Joeku, A-Bibity, Rekoom, Future Wicked, and yours truly MajinTony. I used for my first online endeavor, the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. And after getting a friend base I wanted to keep the same name for the next game. It just stuck from there. 4 or 5 years I've had the same name now.

MajinFacts:

I ran into an upstart clan with a Majin tag on THPS4. I challenged them to a 7 on 1 trick attack and whipped their ass. They quickly died after.

I've only run into one other Majin*name* before and that was on FFXI.

Majin means Monster or Demon in Japanese.

Well now comes my name. HAHAHAHA I was on the bus with some of my friends and they started talking about all those sex names like the dirty sanchez ect. The shocker made me laugh and thought it was a name no one had. There was only one other person I saw that has shocker is a little kid on BF2. The 101 on it was just something that sounded good with it.

A friend of mine used to always use "AIDS" as his name on games because he thought it was funny when somebody died of AIDS. I originally just used Cancer in a similar fashion when I was at his house but then I decided it was kinda cool so I used to it as my main name on SWBFII.
Deutsch Blitz means "German Lightning" in German. Another friend of mine goes by Chinese Thunder and I was having a pretty uncreative day when I came up with my gamer tag. In order to be at least a little bit original I translated mine to German. I actually did realize that "Deutsch" might be read as "douche" when I made it but I figured most people would be smart enough to realize that it's probably said differently. I was wrong. Or I probably wasn't and people just like to antagonize me.

[Dioxin]

Dioxin is a really strong chemical that is often a byproduct and can contribute environmental waste. It's toxic in minute quantities. First I heard about it was in Love Canal. I used to live down the street from there when I lived in Buffalo.

If you remember that russian presidential candidate that was poisoned a few years ago... someone had slipped dioxin in his food. (this isn't why I picked the name btw. Just an interesting fact.)
