    After long last....

I've gotten a new PSN card and downloaded the new maps for COD4, and Warhawk. So now I can finally, finally, after all this time, finally be able to attend Clan practices on both games now.

What I want to ask, after dowloading these new maps for both games, which maps do you like the best for both games, and why?

What do I need to learn, or look for on these new maps?. I've already been warned that "Creek" on COD4 is a "sniperchow" map, and that Chinatown is brutal, and is the new "Shipyard". And that "KIllzone" is brutal also.

Any ideas or thoughts? Inquiring DSA minds want to know.

    Des.

Imperial Sentinel and all around swell guy.

Well, if your looking to get accoustumed to the new maps in Warhawk I will let you know that Omega Factory is huge as hell and a sniper's paradise. However, nobody really plays that map (because they are gay, jk, lol I don't know why they don't play it, I love that map but whatever) so all that is left is Vaporfield Glacier and Tau Crater. These maps are really awesome. If you got some time early on sunday, we can play those maps and get you used to them so that you can get a good idea of the layouts and where the enemy likes to come from.

Send me a psn invite if your interested. My psn is Brocman

I have the new maps for COD and have never been a room to play chinatown. I like most of the maps on COD and all of them in warhawk.

        COD4

Chinatown gets a LOT of play in Search and Destroy, Sabotage, and HQ matches, and is really fun. I've never been in a game where Creek isn't skipped. I played it 16 hours one weekend (double XP weekend) and nobody would play it. The TV Studio map is really good, and I don't remember the other one.

        Warhawk

Omega Factory: HUGE. That's not it's problem, it's problem is that most people don't play it because it has really spread out zones with nothing in between them. Most of the zones are safe from sniper/tank/Binocs/TOW, which means you have to fly/drive to them and then take them over by foot. But it IS different, and I think that was kid of the idea, because the smaller versions of this one are really well designed and fun to play. The Dropship is a nice addition, but never pick up a vehicle that isn't carrying a flag, and don't get more than 2 other people in it... just makes you a bigger target. It's best used as a large gunboat.

        Vaporfield Glacier
This is even bigger than Omega Factory. FUN AS HELL map... my pick for best map in Warhawk. All versions of it are awesome, and it really allows you to get into massive battle. The roads that wind through the map OFTEN end up in massive fights, though the empty space is every bit as advantageous as the protected areas. Lots of equipment everywhere, and there always seems to be something going on here. Lots of Zones, all of them are really well spaced out to promote constant conflict. Since there are no real chokepoints, this map just favors a lot of run and gun. The APC is so versatile... if you are in it people can spawn INTO it, getting a free randomly selected weapon when they spawn and making it awesome for getting deep into enemy territory and taking bases that would otherwise seem impossible. It's R2 thrust will kill any vehicles instantly, and the Shield generator is a really effective tool, the only thing that will bring the shield down is a charged lightning round.

        Tau Crater.
Sniperland. Taking out people on or from the crane or ship is a staple of this map... from up there you can really see most of the map, and be seen by most of the map. Jetpacks are awesome and wicked fun, but don't overdo it. The jetpacks can be locked onto with RPGs, and though you can break the lock by doubletapping R2, it's safer to just keep the jetpack as a short range tool. Flak will also shred EVERYONE wearing a jetpack in 4-6 seconds.

4 to 6 seconds brocman? more like 1 to 3 shots from it
I love to get a jetpack, rpg, sniper, binocs, then get in a warhawk and go into heated dogfights, after I have killed a few planes and my warhawk is certainly doomed I will bail out and hover in my jetpack and kill the enemy with rpgs or chase after them with it, then land on a high mountain and binoc people below,
another fun thing to do with jetpack is get flamethrower and mines, then drop mines on people and tanks below, or just hover above a tank and torch it to death

Keyser hit the nail on the head with the maps, but I would like to add that Tau Crater is also a vertical battleground (i.e. warhawks and jetpacks fighting at great heights) so watch the sky on that map. I personally favor the Tau Crater map over the rest because it reminds me of Endor (needs ewoks to shoot at lol) and I like jetpacks...you know I've always been a jet trooper Deslock.

Tau Crater is by far my favorite Warhawk map. It's verticle like boss said which gives way for some cool battles. The jetpack should be over done. You just have to get used to knowing when to use it and when not to. I have to play with them. Since you can now jump out of any vehicle at any time, you can turn a warhawk into a dumbfired tow missle. Nothing better than flying a warhawk into a center base with mines on it, jumping out and watching it sail into helpless victims.

The jet packs also allow you to use land mines to disrupt airspace. I love putting land mines on the rocky loops that contain the lightning, air mine, and missles on badlands!

Norm, Warhawk is just the Battlefront engine done to perfection with a different liscence.
