honesty , i dont think its a good idea. Ultrasound can be thrown off by hitting the right tone. Plus that boomerang configuration just simply looks wrong.
My guess is that anybody who tries to copy the Wii will not do so well. Look how hard it is for developers to incorporate it into the gameplay--leading for very limited selections for the Wii.
Also---it would be NUNCHUK. Short for nunchaku. One of those commonly mispronounced words.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!
@Muncher
Ouch. I've heard a lot of people irritated with that Mii-like thing also.
I'm in on trashing Sony on copying the Wii remote functionality. Yes, it is awesome when well implemented. RE4 Wii is AWESOME. But it is the ability to point ACCURATELY in addition to the motion controls that makes the Wii's controls so good when they are done well. But the Wii isn't HD... The level of accuracy the device would need to have would go WAY up if it were.
Sixaxis is Triple mild weak sauce compared to what the Wii remotes do. Judging by how rarely the "motion controls" in the SIXAXIS are done, I'm in NO hurry for anything extra on that front.
HOWEVER... If the controls are done WELL, and it will all depend on if it's done well, it could be awesome. I have enjoyed the Wii games in the FPS space that handle motion and aiming well. I just kind of doubt it in this console generation.
If Sony does well with it, then we don't have to deal with trashy shovelware titles on the Wii anymore. The only titles that truly take advantage of the Wii nunchuck are Metroid,Zelda,Mario,RE4,Zak and Wicky,One Piece,etc etc, but after that theres just not enough quality and it seems theres more quantity and here I go ranting about the Wii, I better stop now before its too late.
It's pretty telling that the best game on Wii in the last 6 months is World of Goo. And WOW, it's really great!!! If you have a wii you should youtube it to get a feel, but if you like psychics puzzle type games with a LOT of personality and easy to play, it's really awesome.
