    Gwar

GWAR is the shit and untill Ratix said something about my avatar, I thought I was the only one who knew of them.

I'm gonna go see 'em on the 20th of this month, I think it will be the 7th or 8th time I've seen them. Aside from taking a hot aids infected load to the face from Oderus' cock and needing antibiotic eye drops afterwards I only have one good story about them.

I saw the Dave Brockie Experience (pick up songs for the wrong if you don't have it. If you like songs about banging mentally retarded chicks, then you'll love this album), at a small club with a small crowd. Well I was wearing a SLAYER shirt, and Dave Brockie (Oderus) singled me out durring the set and told me to lose the SL and replace it with a G so I would be GAYER.

My favorite stage bit was them scalping the pope and then skullfucking him.

Limbo please elaborate on you hitting on Slymenstra.

"Beefcake the Mighty, clotted with spew. His sword falls, skulls burst in two. The eyes burst from sockets, he is not through. Thousands of warriors he does this to. Piling the corpses of those that he slew. Untill it was hard to tell if the pile grew!"-GWAR

I went to a show with Ratix years ago at a small venue here in NY. They were doing their raping Jonbenet bit at the time. I ended up drinking a lot and we stayed long after the band went off stage and nobody was really in the place but us and the band. So we were all at the bar drinking and i was just pitching my shit to some real ugly chick which ended up being her.

I've seen them about 2-3 times. Best show I went to had to be at the Roselands (I think), with Misfits opening for Gwar. During the Misfits set, Joey Ramone came out and did a few songs with them. Just a year or two before we lost the Godfather of Punk. Never had the chance to see the Ramones, so it was great to at least see him in person before he passed.

          Oh man.

That's awesome. I made people hoist there drinks up in the air for 3 months after he died randomly in bars... "GIVE IT UP FOR JOEY RAMONE". People always think I'm more drunk than I am.

Mostly because of this thread (and free tix) I went to see gwar. I'm so happy I took the opportunity. It was unreal. I'm not going to say I'm a fan. I have not really listened to them since about 1993 or 94. Their show was badass and so fucking fun. I'll definately go next time they are around. Beefcake the Mighty was just hanging around during the opening act talking to people and having pics taken by their merch booth. I have a lot of respect for that.

                Hey Tony,

If you are also interested in hardcore punk, check out American Hardcore. It's a documentary on the early 80's hardcore punk scene, and Dave Brockie is one of the people interviewed.
