A day in the life of....

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF "CONSERVITIVE" JOE REPUBLICAN

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.

With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid Medical insurance - now Joe gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe To eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly Labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.

He walks to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because Some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which
gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union.

If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It's noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his Farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards.

He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans.

The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

"As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality."

    War heroes..?

    Republicans War Heroes

G.W. Bush - decided that a six-year Nat'l Guard commitment really means four years. Still says that he's "been to war." Huh?

Rush Limbaugh, did not serve. Was 4-F due to an anal cyst. Must have hurt.

VP Cheney - several deferments, the last by marriage (in his own words, "had other priorities than military service").
    * Majority Whip Tom Delay - avoided the draft, did not serve. "So many minority youths had volunteered ... that there was literally no room for patriotic folks” like himself. Do you smell something?
    * Att'y Gen. John Ashcroft - sought deferment to teach business ed at SW Missouri State.
    * Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert - avoided the draft, did not serve.
    * Majority Leader Dick Armey- avoided the draft, did not serve.
    * Trent Lott - avoided the draft, did not serve.
    * Karl Rove - avoided the draft, did not serve, too busy being a Republican.
    * Former Speaker Newt Gingrich - avoided the draft, did not serve
    * Former President Ronald Reagan - served in a noncombat role. He later seems to have confused his role as an actor playing a tail gunner with the real thing.
    * Bob “B-1 Bob” Dornan - avoided Korean War combat duty by enrolling in college acting classes (Orange County Register article)
    * Phil Gramm - avoided the draft, did not serve, four (?) student deferments
    * Don Nickles, Senate Minority Whip - Did not serve
    * Senator Richard Shelby, did not serve
    * Representative Saxby Chambliss, Georgia - did not serve, had a "bad knee" (yet somehow feels he has a right to attack Max Cleland's patriotism)
    * Representative JC Watts - did not serve
    * Jack Kemp, did not serve (was fit enough for pro football, but "failed" the physical?)
    * Dan Quayle, avoided Vietnam service, got a slot in the journalism unit of the Indiana National Guard when the unit was at 150% capacity
    * Eliot Abrams, did not serve
    * Vin Weber, did not serve
    * Richard Perle, architect of Gulf War II, did not serve.
    * Rudy Giuliani, did not serve
    * George Will, did not serve
    * Chris Matthews, did not serve.
    * Bill O'Reilly, did not serve
    * Paul Gigot, did not serve.
    * Bill Bennett, did not serve. Didn't want to gamble on fate?
    * Pat Buchanan, did not serve, lots of bar fights though.
    * Pat Robertson - did not serve, apparently used Daddy's connections to get off the ship in Tokyo while his buddies went on to Korea. Praise the Lord!

P.S. If you are Republican, Please do not make the mistake that I am a Democrat supporter either. Both Parties suck. This one just happens to suck more. Trust me, I know. I used to be one. That is until they starting fighting against everything our founding fathers believed in:

25 RULES FOR BEING A GOOD REPUBLICAN!

    1) You believe that drug addiction is a moral failing and a crime, unless the addict is a millionaire conservative radio jock which then makes it an "illness" and he needs our prayers for his "recovery".

    2) You believe that those privileged from birth achieve success all on their own.

    3) You believe that the US should get out of the UN.

    4) You believe that government should stay out of people's lives but it needs to punish anyone caught having private sex with the "wrong" gender.

    5) You believe that pollution is okay, so long as it makes a profit.

    6) You believe in prayer in schools, as long as they don't pray to Allah or Buddha.

    7) "Standing Tall for America" means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India and/or China.

    8) You believe that a woman cannot be trusted with decisions about her own body, but that large multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind with no regulation whatsoever.

    9) You believe that you love Jesus and Jesus loves you, and that Jesus shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary.

    10) You hate the ALCU for representing convicted felons, but they owed it to the country to bail out Oliver North.

    11) You believe that the best way to encourage military morale is to praise the troops overseas while cutting their VA benefits.

    12) You believe that group sex and drug use are degenerate sins that can only be purged by running for governor of California as a Republican.

    13) You believe it is wise to keep condoms out of schools, because we all know if teenagers don't have condoms they won't have sex.

    14) You believe that the best way to fight terrorism is to alienate our allies and then demand their cooperation and money.

    15) You believe that government medicine is wrong and that HMOs and insurance companies have your best interests at heart.

    16) You believe that giving free health care to all Iraqis is sound government policy but giving free health care to Americans is socialism.

    17) You believe that tobacco's link to cancer and global warming are "junk science", but Creationism should be taught in schools.

    18) You believe that waging war with no exit strategy was wrong in Vietnam but right in Iraq.

    19) You believe that Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney was doing business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

    20) You believe that government should restrict itself to just the powers named in the Constitution, which includes banning gay marriages and censoring the internet.

    21) You believe that the public has a right to know about the adulterous affairs of Democrats, while those of Republicans are a "private matter".

    22) You believe that the public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades but that Bush was right to censor 28 pages from the Congressional 9.11 report because you just can't handle the truth.

    23) You support state rights, which means Ashcroft telling states what locally passed voter initiatives he will allow them to have.

    24) You believe that what Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest but what Bush did in the 80s is "stale news" and "irrelevant".

    25) You believe that trade with Cuba is wrong because it is communist, but trading with China and Vietnam is good for business.

What is a "CONSERVITIVE"? Do you mean "CONSERVATIVE"? (shame that "Liberal" education didn't work) Low blow, but it was funny

Des, I can't believe you posted this without reading through it.

There's supposed points about various food and drug qualities and that only because of liberal measures we enjoy them. That's not the case, the FDA created by TR was a republican. In fact the FDA got its start from Wiley who was also a republican.

You also know that the EPA was started by Nixon right? Nixon was a republican too. In fact the majority of the major changes in environmental law came while Nixon, Reagen and Bush were in office.

I'm not sure if you knew that the FSLIC doesn't even exist. Now we use the FDIC. Which took over in the late 80's during the S&L scandal.

I could go through it some more if you want me too. I haven't even looked at the military version yet, though I'm sure it has other issues as your first chain letter did.

Lol. I wouldn't know that much about the first sheet since I haven't been paying attention to politics for as long as you guys have. But I'd have to agree with the second sheet 100%. Really funny, too.

Norm, lol!! You take everything sooo serious! Hell, I don't know if every fact in the first post is true or not. I post things like this here, and on my website, because right or wrong, true or not, it makes people think.

And when people are openly talking and debating real issues, they're not dropping bombs on each other. It's when people stop talking, when bad things happen.

My purpose here on Earth is to help others, and to help them think.

P.S. BTW Norm, I did recieve a "liberal" education during the 70's and 80's. And yes, it sucked. It sucked bad. Gah...But at least we didn't need metal detectors on our doors, Police IN the school, and assinine "dress codes".

          *Sheesh*.

Des you can only help people think if you post correct information. If you post incorrect information or wild theories like; we didn't land on the moon, the Holocaust is fake or 9/11 is Bush's fault you'll start to sound like all those poor Ron Paul supporters.

We don't want that do we?

            LOL

I try not too post too much about political issues, but I really hate chain mail like this. Most of the time it gets sent back with a link from snopes...lol

I like how they listed Chris Matthews as a Republican. Never mind just the chain letters, despite heavy criticism of the main stream media (well deserved IMO) people are VERY quick to presume that stuff posted on websites is true! Without editorial checks, fact checks, or anything else beyond a wikipedia search. sigh. Yes the NYTimes publishes drivel and presents them as "news". So do a lot of other papers that have a different political leaning. The only objective paper I can find is actually the Wall Street Journal--until you get to the Op-Ed page and you see the editorials are borderline lunacy in their one-sidedness. But at least the reporting the WSJ is mostly objective (unless it is a column--then it is just some idiot reporter looking for a story and willing to believe a hedge fund manager who is basically saying stuff to enhance his position).

There is still a significant number of Americans who believe Iraq was responsible for 9-11. There are still many who believe Barrack Obama is a muslim (as if that were a crime to begin with). We fall prey to the easy, lazy thinking as a society. We believe in generalities. We hold opinions because it is our right (which is true), but don't bother to try to test our opinions for reasonability. We see the world as black/white or blue/red. It's a shame.
You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!
