How is this possible? Have you guys had THIS one yet? I believe the RROD is known as E73, and I don't believe this is a code for the "Disc Read Failure" error, but damn it, that really sucks. Makes me want to put down a bottle of Patron and go kick someone's ass in Redmond.

I think I had this error and I got my Xbox back after 2 weeks and it works amazing. Have no fear my friend go buy an Xbox the RE5 special edition and you will be okay.

As much as I would like to see cross platform gaming in the clan, I am thinking Keyser should not get a 360. If he gets a bum 360, there is a high likelihood that the courts would not consider it an excuse for the wanton destruction that would lay in his wake.

I'm not sane with such things.

For Example: RE4 was so good I sent the Capcom staff a Christmas card thanking them for such a great game the next year (it came out in Jan). RE5's controls are so bad I've already fired off 3 emails to people in Capcom expressing extreme displeasure and as a longtime fan of the series it's FAR too easy. I will PROBABLY break the disc around December and send it to capcom with a nasty letter about all this with the smashed game disc.

Why? If you sell it and bitch about it people can assume you never played it or rented it. If it's so bad they actually crush the disc and sent it to you with a detailed letter as to why you suck, they tend to remember that and don't shrug it off as easily. It's somebody's baby, after all, but the control scheme should have been aborted.

Now if I'm willing to crush a game like RE5 to make a point, I'm scared to imagine what I'd do if I bought a 360 and had any issues.

So 360s are like most the women you get? lol In all honesty buddy I don't think you would enjoy the 360 besides some of the arcade games they have. You would after playing Gears 2 buy every disc you could and go to Cary and dumb them in the parking lot of Epic, you don't really like COD4, you LOATHE Halo, you like COD5, but besides that I don't see you playing much on the 360. Yea Netflix is great but you can get the Roku for $100 and watch Netflix instantly. There are some pretty good games that are/were exclusive to the Xbox but now PS3 or Wii have gotten them or will be getting them. As much as I would love to play games on the 360 with ya I think getting one would probably turn into an investment that you are not entirely happy with. Give me some time I may get a PS3 still trying to research and see if Blu Ray is worth or it if I should just get a DVD upconvertor.

I don't see how the controls are so bad. RE4 didn't let you strafe, in you have so much more control now and with four different control schemes I can't see how you can bitch about it but whatever, lol.

XBOX Live is great. Organizing parties and joining as the party is worth most your gaming experiences. Zabka probably can compare the two better for that issue. I never had any issues with my XBOX elite on the year and a half I've owned it. You usually can find someone in the clan playing the game you are playing

Ok, when you use the right stick to look around, but when you hold in the aim button the right stick SUDDENLY STOPS WORKING and you now have to use the LEFT stick to look around, that just sucks. The fact that R stick controls where you look, EXCEPT when you want it to (when aiming) is thoroughly poor.

I went to the Type A (since you can't put Run on R2 where any normal person would put it) and simply pretend that I don't have a right stick. It's the only way I can tolerate this game.

It's like this, If Super Mario Brothers 64 let you use the analog stick to move around, but anytime you jumped or slid down hills, the Analog stick stopped working and you had to switch over to the dpad to control Mario, then SWITCH BACK when he landed, that'd be a pretty godawful control scheme. I don't understand how people think that scheme makes any sense.

In a game where you are pretty much either running or shooting the entire time, those buttons SHOULD be near each other. What other action game doesn't do this? Hold X but then have to use L1 and R1 to fire before holding in X again doesn't make sense. R2 makes sense, since it puts the major controls on triggers, but this isn't an option.

Have a stick ALWAYS be look/aim makes sense. That why every. single. game. I can think of does it this way. SWBF, Warhawk, Halo, Gears, SOCOM, COD, all of them, you use right stick to look and aim. You don't use R stick to aim, up until you HOLD DOWN the aim trigger, in which case your R stick goes dead and you have to use the L stick. That's foolish. Having 4 control schemes which all 4 ignore this basic principle (a control always does what it is told to) is just brilliantly asinine.

I had to dig up my RE4 GC copy last night to find the original setting to try to closest emulate it on the PS3 pad to get where I wouldn't snap this disc in half. Type A is the closest, and only one remotely playable, but you do have to forget your controller even HAS a right stick.

Ok, Keyser for weeks I have heard you blast on about RE5. I finally played it last week at my friends house. got mostly through it too, but never finished, which sucks because now I have to download or buy it..(most likely dl) but anywho..

The aim controls and controls in general do in fact suck compared to most games. The aim takes some time to get used too, took me a level or two to finally come to grips with the it's shitty controls. However, the same can be said for ANY RE game. They ALL had and are notorious for shitty controls and piss poor camera angles. Well maybe not the Wii version, that was actually pretty good, but not without some control flaws too. At this point it's like their signature of RE games. If it had good controls, you wouldn't believe it was RE. So if it's just pissing you off now, you were brain dead for the last installments and just woke up from the coma you were in and realized it.

Other then the control, I think the game is pretty good, except for the useless bitch that does in fact steal shit from you. I personally like to take everything from her and try to kill her in any of the co-op functions, like letting her drop to her death on the wood bridge in that wetlands board, or try to crush her on the metal gates you have to open as well. The restart is well worth the satisfaction of being the cause of her ill demise.

The more frustrating point and let down to me for the entire series is how far off from "zombies" they go. The whole face hugger venus fly trap, organizing labor union style protests, hell's angels, type zombies made me shake my head at the whole thing. It's no Left 4 Dead, that's for sure (<- shameless plug).

I was actually hoping that RE5 was going to go into the beginnings of zombies by being in Africa which it seemed like they wanted to with the tribal guys but of course they kept with the Las Plagas virus. Maybe they will bring back zombies with RE6 and Sherry Berkin or something cause the Uroboros thing was just kinda dumb if you ask me.

I'm in the same boat, Ratix. I rented it last week and after finishing normal mode with Broc I'm going to have to buy the game. I agree about the controls but if you get used to it then it doesn't seem as complicated. The one thing I'm more frustrated about is having to stand still to use the knife...seriously...when is Capcom gonna see we should be able to move in order truly shank some zombies?

As for fighting normal zombies...not to give away any spoilers to those that didn't finish the story but there are "old skool" zombies during the last half of the game. I think they just wanted to stray from old fashioned zombies so it wouldn't get repetitive.
