Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron confirmed

I've also added the link to this article in case you want to take a look at the pictures. This game is for the PSP and NDS

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron confirmed storming PSP and DS this fall

Remember those new Star Wars Battlefront games that were spotted on the ESRB website last week? Those have now been made official via an announcement from LucasArts. Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron will launch this fall on the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS.

The game will follow the story of X2, a Force-sensitive clone trooper created from the DNA of a Jedi Master. After experiencing troll's remorse and joining the Rebellion, X2 eventually comes into conflict with his evil clone brother X1.

The game includes a special "Heroes and Villains" mode where you can play as classic Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett as well as characters from Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Players will now also be able to fight on multiple levels. You can stay on the ground and fight on foot or commandeer a vehicle. You can even take the fight to space and do battle on capital ships. Here's an overview of the different features found in the game's PSP and DS versions.

    PSP:

deep customization options lets you dictate the weapons they carry into battle, the armor they wear on their backs, their species, gender, appearance and physical strengths including hundreds of unlockable items and bonuses
16-player multiplayer matches complete with enhanced stat tracking
    12 campaign levels
    DS:

class-based gameplay lets you take advantage of numerous character classes, each with their own specialized weapons and tools and even the ability to carry a lightsaber into battle
    4-player skirmishes
    11 campaign levels

Lol, SWBF3 was probably to big of a project for them to handle. I like this idea. I find that Battlefront on handhelds works well and is addictive. I'm looking forward to the customizable appearance.

I feel like they're just dicking around at this point. Just how big does a SWBF3 game have to be?

Sounds cool. If the offline mode is fun I would play that, but I will never ever ever ever play a game online for the psp. Especially after I experienced all the cheaters on their. With everyone hacking their psps it was only inevitable before all the hackers completely ruined the online experience for it.

Brocman has a point there...but you also have to look for the people who are serious gamers.

Something similar happened to me with Killzone Liberations. Hacker ruin it for me and I was one of the best on there.

I will say something non SWBF3 related, it nice to see what they are doing with customization. I know the capabilities of the Nintendo DS, and if the developers don't take advantage of the DS/i's true capabilities then it will suck on the ds.

As for online mode, yes I agree completely. WiFi on the ds is like that as well where people use action replay on games like Pokemon, Mario Kart, or Jump Ultimate Stars. Games like those are full of cheaters or hackers that derive from having any real fun in this game.

Its tough because Sony won't implement some measure to prevent cheaters on the PSP WiFi. There is no dnas on the psp? or not?

They haven't supported the PSP that well, especially in online cases. However, expect less support now because, as rage posted before, I think they are working on a dual analog stick PSP. If so, it would dominate the market so they must focus on bringing out good ports for it.

Man they really got to bring it when it comes to a new PSP model If they don't put 2 joysticks on it then it's an automatic failiure....Though I don't think anyone read one of my previous post that Sony may be shooting for making the PS3 and PSP and Open Source console......imagine the possibilities of something like that.

It would create some challenges for software developers out there who are spending all their money and putting out crap but gamers will alway be loyal to their favorite developer and franchises. But I'd love this for the reason that I like to have all my hardware be able to access and use each other so writing my own programs to do so would be great and then being able to sell them Via some type of app store or even PSN would be great. If anything the PS3 could be a Desktop PC killer.

I'm pretty sure the latest PSP isn't going to have another nub, just a better screen. More colors and no glare so you can actually play the thing outside before the freaking sun goes down.

                        Model 3000 anyways.

Yeah I don't think it's going too and it will sell but geez sony ticks me off cuz people have been asking of it for years. Gee even hacker and modders have already installed them the psp-1001. There is no reason not to do it. It would only sell more. Make playing games on them better. More developers would make better games for it. All around it would make it a hotter selling item and could possibly give it a fighting chance against the DS.

When I first got my PSP-1001 I didn't use it for 3 years it just collected dust but once I hacked it and installed Custom Firmwares on it I started using it more. I even downloaded games just to see If i wanted to buy them. I got sick of buying games at 40 bucks a pop, that just sucked or where horrible. I mean even Ratchet and Clank size matters a platformer was crappy at best...and I like the franchise.

                          Sony get with it.
